Set in the historic heart of Upper Deal, The Artists' House is a former bakery which has been lovingly transformed into a creative and characterful family home. This was the home of a sculptor and a theatre producer, and it shows in every room. Original artwork, hand carved Carrara marble sculptures, shelves of well thumbed books, a piano waiting to be played, and the relaxed, warmth of a house that has clearly been enjoyed for years. Sleeping up to ten guests across five bedrooms, there is plenty of space for everyone. It suits multi-generational families or groups of friends who want room to spread out, gather over a long meals, and still find a quiet corner of their own. The kitchen and diner sits at the heart of the home, with the original bakery oven still in place at the rear, a quiet nod to the building's working past. From here, doors open onto the courtyard garden, a lovely spot for morning coffee or an evening drink as the day winds down. Upstairs, a comfortable sitting room is wrapped in books and art, full of character and lovely place to sit an watch movies as a group, or get stuck into a good book. The bedrooms each have their own personality, from a modern ground floor room with a sleek en suite shower room, to a snug loft room under the eaves that is a fun place for little ones and great for hide and seek! One of the rooms is tucked away across the balcony for proper privacy, a wonderfully quirky room with a freestanding bath at the foot of the bed. The Artist's House is comfortable, well-equipped and full of personality. With off road parking for one car, a real bonus in Deal, The Artists' House is a hard to beat base for a larger group wanting something genuinely different. From the house, there is an entrance to Church Path which leads to a field, just seconds away for a quick dog walk. From Rectory Road, there are extensive countryside walks and the beach is a mile walk or a five minute bus ride away.

Dining table and chairs for 8. Comfortable corner sofa, side tables, lamps, wall mounted TV. There is a door leading to the courtyard garden area from the kitchen.
Bedroom One (Ground Floor, en-suite) Just between the hallway and kitchen/living area is a ground floor double bedroom with a modern en-suite shower room and jack and jill WC. Wardrobe, side tables, side lights and lined curtains. This room has a wide doorway, suitable for wheelchair access.
First Floor Sitting Room Large, light-filled sitting room with two comfortable sofas, an armchair, side tables, Smart TV. At the other end of the room is a piano, round table and four chairs, bookshelves and lots of wonderful artwork.
Bedroom Two Sleeps 2 - with double bed, side tables, lamps, dressing table and mirror, mirrored wardrobes, blinds and curtains.
Bathroom Bathroom with a freestanding roll top bath, WC and basin.
Bedroom Three Sleeps 2 - with King size bed, side tables, lights, desk and chair, dressing table, armchairs, mirrored wardrobe, Smart TV, blinds and curtains. Door to the roof terrace and access to final bedroom.
Bedroom Four Sleeps 2 - with King size bed, side tables, lights, roll top bath, table and chairs for two, mirrored wardrobe, TV. Please note that access to this bedroom is via the roof terrace from the main part of the house.
Second Floor Bedroom Five (en-suite) Sleeps 2 - with two single beds (suitable for children or teens), with TV, velux windows with safety mechanisms, roll top bath, basin and WC. Please note that the ceilings are sloped and very low in places.
Accessibility There is a ground floor bedroom and en-suite bathroom with wide doorways, suitable for wheelchair access. The pathway to the house is flat and smooth, but there is a ledge in the doorway to access the property through the double doors.
Outside and Parking There is a courtyard garden area with some seating, outdoor lights, sculptures and planting. Please be aware that there is no seating area for outdoor dining. Parking space for one car. Please note that the gate to the property is narrow and not all cars will be able to fit through. Small/medium cars only.

Should any damages arise please note charges may apply as per your booking terms and conditions. Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests. Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the property at any time. Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house. For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property, no charging of e-scooters or e-cigarettes. Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am. Parties and loud music are not permitted at any time. The house is located in a residential area.
