Head to Bassenthwaite (6 miles) to soak up the tranquil beauty of Bassenthwaite Lake, where you can walk along the shore, keep an eye out for wildlife and take in the mountain views. The charming village of Caldbeck (7 miles). The charming village of Ireby (1 mile). For shops, cafes and a touch of history, Cockermouth (10 miles) offers Georgian streets, independent stores and a great selection of places to eat. Keswick (13.5 miles) is a hub for outdoor activities. Here you can explore Derwentwater, browse the bustling market, visit the Theatre by the Lake or set off on walking routes for all abilities.
Step through the door into a handy utility room – great for boots, coats and post-adventure kit – with a shower room also on the ground floor. Wander into the stylish kitchen/diner which is equipped with everything you need to cook up some hearty family meals. From here you reach lounge, where far-reaching views stretch across to Skiddaw. There’s a Smart TV, a pool table for a bit of friendly competition, and sliding doors leading straight out to the garden.
