Very nice property and location. I think next time I would prefer a view or partial view of the ocean. The second bedroom is tight but it worked for our party.

Perfect!

Wish we could have stayed longer! Everything was so comfortable and everyone had plenty of space. Beds were very comfortable, which we usually don't say on reviews! Can't wait to go back!

Great place!!

The listing was exactly as described. Great property and unit!! Couldn’t be beat. We look forward to another visit one day!! The ONLY possible improvement would be providing BBQ tools… otherwise, it was perfect!!

Great Value...few minor items could be improved

Great value. Good size for our family of 4. The beach chairs and cooler were great to use. It was nice being on the 7th floor and near the elevator. View is good of the mountains. The property is fun with all the pools and easy access to the beach. Improvements: Listing said the king bed could be made into 2 twins. Housekeeping said this was not possible. We made it work, but was inconvenient. The kitchen has items, but is not well stocked (only salt and pepper), pots and pans are adequate, not temporary storage ware, foil, wrap, bags. Parking lines in the garage need to be repainted.

Great Property, Family Friendly

Very clean facilities, great beach access. Would not recommend the on site restaurant, Duke’s, for food. Food was the worst we had during our week long stay. Great for cocktail service though around the people. Service was awesome, but wouldn’t spend the money on the food. Towel kiosks are the most convenient that we have come across for towel service. Always stocked. Their general store is also very well stocked. We found almost everything we ever needed there. But there is Time’s across the way which is much better for pricing. Can’t speak to their food items as much though as we already bought our groceries from Safeway by the time we found this place. Great communication from the management. Would definitely come back here again.

Amazing!

We had the best time at this VRBO! It was equipped with towels, chairs and an umbrella for our use! The washer/dryer was very convenient as well. Full kitchen stocked with everything we needed. The view was amazing and was aimed right at our daily rainbow. We had a very nice stay! Mahalo!

Great unit in a great resort

We stayed mid March and had a wonderful time. The unit was as described - nicely decorated, clean, fantastic Mountain View, large patio, well stocked kitchen. The only recommendation to the owner would be to have mirrors in the bedrooms or living room as the bathroom was the only mirror. Parking in the underground garage was also sometimes a challenge given right spaces, but luckily we were able to find surface parking by the other building when the underground was full. Nice stay and would book again.

Family Fun!

My family loved the stay over there, there was a lot of pools and hot tubs. my kids loved the slide! There were a few things in the unit that needed a little touch up, but overall was great!

Great place to stay!

We have stayed at Honua Kai many times and were lucky to find this unit semi last minute for our trip this March. The property is in such a wonderful location and has so many amenities, including the best pools for kids and adults. It also has a Dukes restaurant on the property and it is right on the beach. I enjoy their gym and running along the long boardwalk in the mornings as well. This unit was very accommodating for my four family members, (as it allows for 6). Having the washer and dryer it’s always a plus and the expensive lanai is absolutely beautiful. We did have to contact the property manager a couple times, once for sheets they forgot to put in the condo, and also the allotment of beach towels. Other than that, everything went off without a hitch and they were very accommodating and quick in rectifying the issues. The issue is most likely were due to the fact we booked last minute. We definitely would stay in this unit again. It was our first time with and all Mountain View and it was absolutely gorgeous. I thought I might miss the beach view, but it really was so pleasant and absolutely beautiful. You actually see less of buildings and more of nature instead of beach and the side of another unit, so I would highly recommend this unit!

The most beautiful sunset

We had the best time here. This property is amazing, very clean and beautiful view of the mountains. Well equipped and so close to the beach, our kids loved the pools so much. We had the most beautiful sunsets every night here. We would definitely stay there again. We totally recommend this place.

Confusion about what I booked

Loved the Honua Kai and the room. Howver, by renting through vrbo, we did not have access to all of the amenities. For instance, we could not charge stuff to our room. So we Had to pay cash for everything like like snorkeling or dinner or just sending the kids down for ice cream. We have another trip booked through vrbo in January that we will cancel because it is on a resort and we will book directly through them. Another problem is there was no list of extensions so we had to call Maui Resort Rentals for everything and then they just transferred us to the Honua Kai general operator who then transferred us to the desired extension, a three step process. It should be clearly stated in in the ad that we were NOT renting directly from the resort.

Great location, property and amenities - current construction going on

The property has a great location, right on the beach, great pool, very nice amenities, near walkable dining and groceries. Not a part of the larger complexes and has a comfortable feel. The 2 bed/1bath condo was very comfortable and kept upscale but comfortable. I would stay here again.

Family of 5 (three teens) easily accommodated. Everything you would expect of a higher end condo on the beach. Great base for exploring West Maui. Busy gym but very well equipped.

Great stay and location!

Very clean nice place to stay. We would be more than happy to rent this condo again. I should mention the pullout couch is alittle springy which was ok for our kids but I wouldn't want to sleep on it. The beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable. we loved the beautiful view off the lanai of the mountains. The resort was very well taken care of inside and on outside. The beach was wonderful, alittle rocky so not the best go out swimming without wearing water shoes or flippers. But a short walk further down the beach and it was a more of a stretch of a sandy bottom. The pools were fun and there was always a chair available, they dont let you save spots.

Perfect getaway

We had a great time here! The room was perfect! We had brought our two year old and the second bedroom/den was perfect for her because it blocked out the light and she slept better here than she does at home. I loved that we were provided a free pack n play and high chair for my tot to use. The resort itself was amazing. We used the shuttle service one day to Lahaina which was super convenient and efficient. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Loved everything about our place!

We had a perfect and amazing experience with our stay here! 100% recommended! The room had everything we needed it even had a cooler, umbrella and beach chairs which was a big plus! Room n kitchenette very well equipped and the resort itself beautiful with its gardens and amazing pools! So much fun can't wait to go back!
