Vistas espectaculares del río Potomac desde esta casa unifamiliar de cuatro (4) dormitorios (4) baños ubicada en Colonial Beach, a la salida de Mattox Creek. El paraíso de los observadores de aves sin salir de casa. Vistas de pato, gansos, águila pescadora, garzas, gaviotas, cisnes y un águila ocasional. Nadar en la playa, pescar en el muelle de 60 pies y kayaks disponibles para explorar la zona (3 kayaks y 2 bicicletas para adultos incluidos en el alquiler) ..

Relaxing stay with great views

Great views of the Potomac and sunrise and sunset. Our kids loved swimming and fishing off of the dock and playing on the beach. The owner was great to deal with and made the whole stay seamless.

Beautiful water views with private dock

We loved that the location was about 15 minutes from town. It was private and the water views were stunning. We loved using the kayaks and fishing off our private pier. The house was well stocked and the host called just to be sure we had everything to make our stay enjoyable.

Wonderful long weekend! The home owner goes out of her way to make your stay outstanding! Colonial beach is a hidden gem, and this home has everything you could ever imagine to have a fun filled vacation! Big well maintained home with all the comforts! We hope to be back every year !

Bigger than pictured

We had a great stay with our 3 children as a family here. The house is much larger then photos really show. Alot of fossil finding and sharks teeth. We all had a lot of fun here.

Everything. I mean everything was perfect. We saw swans, ducks, and even sn alligator gar for you fishing lovers. The River was beautiful. The host very responsive. The house very-well appointed. Nothing missing. They even had art supplies for our rainy day. Highly recommend this water-front house.

Wonderful Stay

We enjoyed our stay at Creek II. The house was very clean. It was comfortable, airy and spacious. I especially loved the two full window rooms overlooking the lake. The master bedroom was enormous and very nice. The kids enjoyed the sand (which is a pretty small area during high tide - but more accessible during low tide) and the water, the kayaks, the corn hole game, the air hockey, and the fire pit. The water was very warm and great for swimming. We also enjoyed the wonderful variety of birds and especially the pair of swans that visited the property. One thing to note is that the raised edge of the yard is quite high which could pose a fall risk for toddlers but we were just extra vigilant and it was fine. The area has a number of historic sites to visit which made nice day trips. Although there were many houses on the river - the area and the river was extremely quiet and peaceful.

Great views, comfortable property!

We had a great vacation at this property with our two families. The house is clean and spacious with plenty of room to be together or apart as needed. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a wonderful dining and sitting area off the kitchen with incredible views in every direction. We watched a storm put on a lightning show as it moved through the area one evening. There are good views from all three levels of the house. We found sharks teeth on the beach below the house and spent time enjoying the dock. If you just want peace and quiet you can curl up on the sofa, enjoy the views or play any one of the numerous games available on a table nearby. There is a lot to do in the area just minutes from the property. We visited Colonial Beach and the birthplaces of Presidents Washington and Monroe. The owner is nice, accommodating and very responsive. We will return in the future.

Does not meet expectations. Pros: beautiful view, kayaks. Cons: needs A LOT of maintenance

While the river view is incredible and spending time with family over Thanksgiving was lovely, this property did not meet our expectations. It has the potential to be a luxury vacation home (the price leads you to believe it is) but there were a number of issues that were too big to ignore: - I had to message the owner multiple times on the day before and day of check in to get the door code. I received no instructions for entry prior to reaching out to the owner. - Bags of leaves/trash were on the front porch when we arrived. A vase of dead flowers was on the kitchen counter and the kitchen was very cluttered. We had to hunt for pots and pans, finally locating them in the oven and dishwasher. Ant traps and fly paper filled with dead flies littered the main floor. - No curtains in the master bathroom. The owner claims the windows are tinted and no one can see in during the day, but the neighbors can clearly see into the bathroom at night time. A single blanket was tacked to the window in the downstairs bedroom. - The knob in the master shower fell off when turning it on for the first time. - Amenities listed included a coffee pot, fireplace, and 2 bikes. The coffee pot was actually a single cup keurig machine with no reusable pods so we had to purchase a drip coffee pot. The gas fireplace "is not available until January" but this was not communicated prior to arrival. The owner did not follow through when we requested to activate the fireplace. The bikes were locked in the garage because the owner said it was "too cold to ride." We asked for the garage code and found that only one bike had air in the tires. - Pictures on the listing show a firepit on the second outdoor landing but we found out the owner got rid of it "for liability reasons." - Upon arrival a smoke detector was beeping. The owner suggested we purchase new batteries or take it off the wall because "there are probably more smoke detectors in the house than you need." - Master bedroom has two queen beds (as described in the listing) but set up and distribution of beds is very strange and bedrooms lacked basic furnishings. Bedroom pictures in the listing are not accurate. - Despite the no animals rule, the basement smells like cats and we found a tub full of cat litter in the garage. The location is beautiful and we loved kayaking but overall, the house seemed in disarray and I would not rent this property again until the owners do some general maintenance and fix the issues above.

We had a wonderful time. Kids loved coming the sand for fossils, kayaking, and looking for crabs. House was spacious and comfortable. Definitely we’ll go again

Relaxing family oportunity

Vacations in wonderful beaches like Destin,Spanish Cay Grand Turk etc. are very good, but this well appointed excellent home, offers a beautiful relaxing site for family interaction at all levels. Kayaks bicycles,pool table,dock for fishing,boating,etc in a clean and comfortable facility.Something needed in today's fast and impersonal world. Thank you Mrs. Moldowan for offering this great place also designed to enjoy the most beautiful sunrises.

Sunrise Sunset

We experienced some of the most spectacular sunrise and sunsets during our stay. We also took advantage of kayaking and fishing as well as swimming.we were able to sail from Boathouse Marina to Harbor View and the kids were able to dive from the sailboat and swim to the pier. Just a great place for the family to relax and have fun.

Amazing spot for family vacation

Our family had such an amazing time in this home. Laura was super helpful and the house was spotless! Tons of fun activities for our kids of all ages! Beds were extremely comfortable.

Bargain vacay, great for outdoorsmen

We really enjoyed our stay at creek two. We were an extended family of 11 who like being outdoors during the day and in playing games and relaxing at night. The house location was perfect for us. We had kayaks, fishing rods, and stand up paddle boards. Great spot with calm water off the river a bit and all of mattox creek was great for kayaking, boarding and fishing. Water was always calm and we were able to catch bass, bluegills, and blue catfish. A local told us that the blue catfish were a bit of a hidden gem to eat and they were right. We caught a bunch and ate a bunch, fried and great for tacos Cajun style. The space was great I. The house bedrooms were a good size and plenty of table and kitchen space for our group. The dock is great and having kayaks available is a plus too. The hike into town(colonial beach) is about a 15 minute drive and there are a few good places to eat and hangout there but very small old town feel to everything. There were a few minor things that could be done to improve the property and it was the only reason that it didn’t get 5/5 from us: there are a few electrical things that need updated and are noted with tape next to a few of the outlets and the master shower upstairs also had notes that only 2/4 faucet handles were available due to leaks. There were a few other cosmetic/outdated things that could be addressed but very minor, did not affect our love for the place but would have made it a 5/5 experience for sure and I thought it should be noted. The sunsets and sunrises were incredible and we would and will definitely stay here in the future.

Beautiful and Peaceful Property

My family and I had an amazing weekend. The house was clean and had everything as described. We especially enjoyed watching the sun rise and set from the pier and the kids loved the bikes. We had a pool table, bikes, kayaks and a barbecue so it was a perfect getaway for the family. I cannot relate to the negative review, this house was amazing and we will be back next year!

Beautiful views and a peaceful , quiet setting.

Our family truly enjoyed our visit. We spent time visiting local historical sites as well as the beach. Westmoreland State Park was a great day trip as well. The beauty of the views especially at sunrise and the ever present birds made for a restful vacation for the whole family. The house was well equipped and the owner was very accomodating and communicative. We loved our visit and would recommend the area and this house highly.

Has everything what we needed for our famiy reunion..

Has bedroom(s) and bathroom(s) on all three levels and was convenient for our parents to chose, on which floor they would like to stay as they can't climb stairs often. Basement has entertainment with huge HD SMART TV and Netflix and other apps and gameroom with pool table, airhockey, ping pong, corn hole, board games, outdoor bycicles  and so on. Basement and games was a hit. 2 Kayaks with life jackets and plenty of linens, backyard sand play area, fishing and crab gear and private pier and fire pit was a hit. 2 gas grills at basement and first floor patio was very convenient. Every level has plenty of meshed windows and great views with sunroom @ main floor and Master bedroom and bathroom has great sunrise views. Due to heavy traffic we couldn't make it @ the check-in time but the owner was accomodating and was very responsive. Once we were settled down we never had to reach the owner again. Indoor decor quotations are good. As a feedback, we texted the owner about the Bees next to patio and lights in the patio are out and to our surprise owner has offered to have a service person come in and fix it in an hour and it was taken care as offered. Overall family reunion was a hit for us and  family members suggested small railing across the backyard sand deck that could provide some safety for kids from accidentally falling into the beach, although it is a small height. We will rent again.

Paradise on the Potomac

My family stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The water was amazing and the views from all parts of the house made everything worth it. We watched the sunrise on the water every morning which was absolutely beautiful. The house was very spacious and had a nice open format. There was 9 of us staying here and we all fit comfortably. We kayaked every day off the dock and hung out on the beach that was right in the backyard. We spent hours playing on the game table in the basement, and enjoyed eating dinner every night on the porch as the sun set. The owner was very accommodating and very easy to contact when we needed her.
