En el corazón de Marais, a pasos de Place des Vosges, metro Hotel de Ville.
Habitación tranquila con vistas al patio de adoquines. Cocina con encanto. Ducha de mármol y baño separado. Techos altos.

Mi casa fue originalmente la residencia de la hermana de Voltaire, y conserva los muros de piedra originales, vigas de madera y paneles de madera del siglo XVII en el dormitorio principal.

Tienes acceso exclusivo al apartamento. Tengo un ama de llaves que ocasionalmente vendrá a limpiar o entregar artículos si los necesita. Tocarán primero y se presentarán.

Estoy muy feliz de poder ayudarlo durante su estadía.

3.5 Star Place with Good Hosts

Host and local contact were good with communication and nice to deal with. We moved to a hotel because it was too warm in the apartment and we did not feel completely safe. They had a mobile a/c unit, but had to have window open to let heat from unit out, which resulted in bugs, noise and heat back in. Air unit too small to efficiently cool apartment and both sleeping areas. This place could work in cooler weather, but would not recommend booking in warm weather. Location was good as far as distance to sites and transportation, but place needs some nicer furnishings and touches. Loft bed unsafe as nothing to keep one from a high drop to floor if they were to roll off of bed. Overall, 3.5 star place with good hosts.

Couldn't have been better

The location is amazing! You are steps from the Rue de Rivoli and 2 Metro lines that will get you to the popular sites with ease. There is a small market within steps that will meet all your needs. The apartment itself was clean and cozy. We were very comfortable and lacked for nothing. The owner was communicative and helpful. The check in was easy, the manager personable and flexible. My only caveats- if you have mobility issues you might find the flight of stairs difficult and there is a restaurant that creates a lot of noise outside. The noise ends late in the evening and cannot be heard in the bedroom, but I know some people are sensitive. We enjoyed the chatter, it added to the charm. The authenticity of the apartment made for a true Parisienne experience. The furnishing is simple and suits the space, the beds were comfy. There were lots of thoughtful touches like travel guides and adapters provided. In short, highly recommended, thank you Nathan!

Living Like a Resident of Paris for a Weekend.

We were surprised when we arrived of how close this apartment was in walking distance to Notre Dame and other sites. Down five steps is a grocery store where we found some snacks and wine to enjoy before going out for the evening. Only one flight of stairs, so we felt safe above ground but not exhausted from steps. The atmosphere of the apartment is what we imagined Paris would feel like if we called Paris our home. When we arrived, the host left us a bottle of champagne, which was nma fun touch. We don't have kids, but I imagine families would have fun with the lofted bed. It is lively outside the main living area, but the master bedroom was far enough away that the sound wasn't heard. Although we didn't use the bathtub, it was nice to have the option to shower or bathe. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants a place to drop-off their bags and go, knowing there is a welcoming place to come back to after exploring the city of lights.

Spacious, Light, but Very Sparsely Furnished Apartment

We found the apartment to be spacious by Paris standards. The bedroom is beautifully paneled in well worn 18th century wood, has mechanical shutters plus blackout drapes covering a large window, ensuring that no light enters so that one can enjoy a good sleep. The bedroom faces an inner courtyard so is quite quiet. A clothes washer and drier are available, though no instructions are provided on their use; so only by trial and error did we find that a container filled with water extracted in the drying process had to be emptied before the drier really did its job. The bathroom contains both a shower and a bathtub as opposed to the usual tub and shower combo. The kitchen includes a microwave, stove top, and oven. No instructions are included on their use, and we could not get the oven to work even when the owner’s representative tried. The living room is spacious, lots of large windows and plenty of light. The apartment is only sparsely furnished. Given the large size of the living/dining room, a larger dining table plus a more comfortable sofa and additional armchairs could easily be accommodated. In addition drapes on the windows plus maybe a sisal rug would soften up the look and make the living/dining room more welcoming. Large mirrors are the only decoration, adding to the minimalist look. Additional kitchen utensils would be handy; we found only one kitchen paring knife, flatware and dishware only for four. There is no dishwasher, which was not a problem, and adequate cleaning supplies were furnished. There is a closet with shelves in the bedroom for clothes and, in the living room, a closet where one can use hangers for clothes. Note that the living room windows overlook a short street next to an 18 hour grocery and that gatherings of unruly folk drinking beer from the store can occaisionally be disruptive. In all, we would recommend the apartment, bearing in mind the above caveats. Should you book the apartment, be sure to insist upon getting the Paris phone numbers for the owner’s representatives. In our case we initially had to call the owner in Atlanta to respond to problems, which was problematic given the time difference and if one does not have cell phone service in Europe.
