El "Punto aleatorio de Ray" es un oasis tranquilo y aislado en 300 pies de la playa del lago Superior, el estanque de truchas y 10 acres arbolados. Esta ubicación encantada está a solo 5 millas del centro de Marquette, con fácil acceso a la Universidad del Norte de Michigan, numerosos restaurantes, tiendas, senderos para caminatas y ciclismo, y eventos regionales.

Esta es la U. P. en su máxima expresión. Después de salir de la carretera principal, recorrerá media milla por un camino pavimentado y de grava a través del bosque y hacia el majestuoso Lago Superior. A su llegada, escuchará pájaros, el viento que atraviesa los árboles y el agua lamiendo (¡o chocando!). Adoramos este lugar debido a la tranquilidad y el aislamiento, pero la conveniencia de la ciudad.

Su apartamento está ubicado encima de un garaje separado, así que tenga en cuenta que deberá navegar por las escaleras abiertas.

* Tendrá una cocina completamente equipada para preparar todas sus comidas. Totalmente abastecido significa ollas, sartenes, electrodomésticos, aceite, especias, café y té..
* Configuración para dormir: el dormitorio 1 tiene una cama king-size. Dormitorio # 2 tiene dos camas individuales. El salón tiene un sofá futón que se puede usar como cama. Y hay un loft con un colchón doble adicional..
* Todas las sábanas son 100% algodón. Y hay muchas almohadas cómodas.
* Techo alto y muchas ventanas.
* Agua: el agua del grifo es quizás la mejor agua que jamás haya probado. Viene fresco de un pozo y brota en la propiedad. (probado regularmente)
* Cubierta envolvente con asientos al aire libre y parrilla.
* Acceso a wifi. El sistema se actualizó recientemente para que tenga un excelente acceso a Internet. La recepción celular es irregular. Los mensajes de texto funcionan bien, pero las llamadas telefónicas pueden ser un desafío.
* Hay un televisor con reproductor de DVD, pero no hay conexión por cable..
* Sendero corto y arenoso hasta la playa. Gran playa para jugar y nadar. Arenoso y poco profundo. ¡Sin embargo! Sé que el Lago Superior es impredecible. Una gran tormenta puede quitar la arena durante la noche, dejando una playa de rocas. Y luego otra tormenta trae la arena de vuelta.

* Probablemente se sentirá abrumado por la expansión del Lago Superior frente a su apartamento. Sin embargo, también puede estar encantado por un estanque alimentado por manantiales que descansa junto a la entrada con Blue Heron, Mallard Ducks, Kingfisher y Bull Frogs. We LOVED our stay! The space was beautiful and comfortable, and the amenities—especially the sauna, fire pit, and most importantly, the beach—were amazing. Lizzy and Jen were amazing hosts, super accommodating, communicative and helpful. You cannot beat this stay in Marquette; we hope to come back in the future!

Beautiful Unique Spot

The hosts have really put in an effort to ensure that you have a wonderful stay. The beach is magical and a perfect place to watch the sun go down and build a campfire. The beds were cozy and the kitchen amenities were great to cook any meal you could imagine. Even during the short rain we were able to enjoy the lake views from the living space. The kids spent some time feeding the trout and playing the card/board games that were available. It's true, the tap water is amazing. We refilled our water bottles and a juice container to take some with us to our next stop.

Needs a little TLC

This is an amazing property but seems like maybe it's been a bit neglected. We stayed for three nights and loved the layout, character, and location. As an FYI, there is no "beach" and the rocks at the waterfront are very difficult to navigate and set chairs on. The beach picture in the listing is not accurate/updated from mother nature's latest shenanigans. The super slippery mossy rocks in the water make it difficult to get in the water without falling. However, if you can get past the rocks, it's wonderfully sandy and shallow a ways out. When we booked the property, the manager said she didn't know if there would be beach b/c of the snow! We were able to use our SUP's and enjoyed checking out the area from the water. The path down to the waterfront needs to be cleaned up - trim the plants and perhaps put in some more steps. The rope handrail is helpful but minimal. Originally my mother-in-law was going to join us. I don't think she would have been able to get down there easily and would have had a tough time walking on the unstable waterfront rocks. The view from the main room is limited, b/c the trees have grown and filled in! The picture on the listing must be a few years old. The sliding screen door had so many holes, the mosquitoes were in heaven having full access to us. Unfortunately, the air conditioner did not work, when we finally succumbed to using it our last night. I also agree with a previous review, it would be nice to have some comfortable chairs to sit on in the main living room. A hard futon that faces the side wall, was not great for more than 2 people and doesn't take advantage of the potential views. Having at least 4, if not more places to comfortably sit facing each other and/or the big windows, would be nice. Also, as a side note, the well broke (understandably these things happen) on the last day and night so we were without water, toilet, shower for our last afternoon, night, and morning - which was not so fun. It was like really expensive camping! ;-)The owner was very apologetic, brought us plenty of drinking water and buckets of water to "flush" the toilets with. They also bought us dinner at their restaurant. We had a nice stay at this property, just had higher hopes for the price we paid.

Outstanding location/private beach

We thoroughly enjoyed our own private cove/beach to watch the sunset, swim, and even got up early to watch the sun rise. I will purposely plan our next vacation to Marquette based on the availability of this property.

Great place. Superb location

We were only there for two nights but it was a fantastic stay. The house was nice, clean and fully furnished with everything we needed. The water is just a short, maybe 25 yard walk from the house. The water was chilly and the sand had been sucked off the beach by the water so we didn’t spend a lot of time down there but the view of it from the house was great. I would stay there again if it’s available next time I’m up there.

Far better than we had ever imagined!

We came to spend a weekend visiting our daughter at NMU and enjoy the beautiful UP! We had a snafu that is much too long of a story to tell here but the owners and rental manager were right there for us and made our stay a very memorable and successful trip. The place was clean, beautiful and peaceful! I believe this has to be one of the nicest places I've ever stay through VRBO or any other rental agency. From now on this will be my go-to place for visits to the UP! Thank you!

Relaxing getaway close to Marquette and other attractions!

My husband and I stayed at this property for a quick anniversary getaway. Right away we were impressed with the spaciousness, cleanliness, and home-like atmosphere. The bed was so comfortable and it was heaven falling asleep listening to the sounds of Lake Superior. The kitchen had everything we needed and they even provided delicious organic coffee and tea. We loved exploring the beach. We loved the peaceful atmosphere but also that we were close to Marquette and other outdoors attractions. Gave a nice balance to the weekend. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Beautiful secluded getaway

We had a very positive experience. The property was wonderful and fully equipped. The owners' greeting was warm and welcoming and provided us with a background on the house and area. I would highly recommend this to others.

Great view and comfortable apartment.

My wife, kids, and I really enjoyed staying here. It takes a minute or two to get down the path to the beach, which makes the beach feel even more private. The apartment over the garage has a great deck with good views through the green trees to the water. The apartment itself is comfortable, and my young sons enjoyed sleeping up in the loft over the kitchen. It would have been nice to have a couple more chairs in the living room, but it wasn't a big issue because we didn't spend a lot of time sitting around inside.

Lovely little bay on Lake Superior.

We loved your place! We were pleasantly surprised with a couple of great sunrises. The sun was centered in the bay (mid June). A couple of clear nights we saw lots of stars. The apt/home had all the amenities as described. They even had free fish food to feed the trout in a little pond up the hill. It was a peaceful setting. Close to north side of Marquette - convient. Lots of fresh air ... hmmm, loved the pine and green forest smells. The caretakers were very accommodating. We did like the advice of bringing some extra warm clothes ... you know - cooler by the lake. We sure liked the "bay" view of the water front ... great for photos.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Tom and Brenda Ray always loved camping and fishing in the U.P. and jumped at the opportunity to purchase land here. Brenda designed and built the house with help from their kids and local builders. The apartment is a separate structure above the garage. You often don’t even see the folks staying in the other place. Tom and Brenda were endlessly enchanted by this property. Tom built a trout pound and spent so much time tending to it, that the fish became pets rather than dinner. Brenda tended to the flower garden, which was a constant dance between wild and cultivated. And they both reveled in the isolation and the mysteries of nature. Now that both Tom and Brenda have passed, we- the kids and grandkids- would like to maintain this special place for our families and friends to enjoy. Some of us live in Marquette; others visit whenever possible. .
