Esta es una encantadora suite de concepto abierto. Cuenta con una cocina completa, que está completamente equipada, baño grande pequeño dormitorio adicional. La sala de estar principal tiene una cama king size acogedora sala de estar y hermosa chimenea. Hay un patio maravilloso justo afuera de la puerta que da al lago Independence a solo 50 pies de distancia. Hay una zona de estar con comedor en el patio, con parrilla. Absolutely stunning, peaceful property. The area was remote, which was very nice. It's beautiful and quiet. The lake was yards from the backdoor and very serene. Paul and Gina were very kind and gracious hosts!

Beautiful!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. We brought our paddle boards so being right on Lake Independence was great. The living space was very clean, had everything we needed (including a comfortable bed!), and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. We also loved being about 35 minutes from Marquette - there is a wonderful Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings that we recommend going to. We also enjoyed hiking at Yellow Dog Falls and Dead River Falls (more advanced). We had a great trip and would stay here again!

Big Bay Retreat

The suite was great. This is a great place to stay for a couple or family of 3. The lake was beautiful and we also enjoyed the kayaks. Gina and Paul were great.

Our comforting home base

My partner and I had a lovely time at Gina and Paul's place. It is located close to many sights in the Huron Mountains for exploring, and day trips to Marquette were convenient. The place was very clean, very well stocked, and in a beautiful location. Your front door is practically on the lake!

This is a wonderful destination to relax and take in the serene Lake Independence. We bicycled the area and did day trips to Marquette.

Great place to stay!

We absolutely loved our stay. Gina was so welcoming and helpful. The property was well stocked and is exactly as shown . The view of the lake is beautiful. If in the area again we will definitely stay there again.

Cozy retreat

Hi Gina and Paul, WOW, what a wonderful weekend getaway! Your spot on Lake Independence in Big Bay is fantastic! Everything was so very clean. The king bed was super comfortable! It The view of the lake from the patio was peaceful and serine. Enjoying a night fire by the fire pit was a highlight! Thanks so much for being terrific hosts!

Amazing Views

Location, Location, Location … The views of the lake, mountains, wild life , and host were so calming & appreciated. Spent most of down time on great patio playing games . Tons of love was placed on supplies, nothing was missing as far as household needs Hope to get back here soon!

I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting and place to stay. Our hosts were more than accommodating to us and made us feel welcome. The rooms were beautiful and were everything that we were looking for. Thank you so much. We would really love to come back next year!

Amazing Stay

Paul & Gina greeted us when we arrived, and Paul even went out of his way to help carry things down to the suite! The property was beautiful and the view from the living area was surreal! Also, we were able to enjoy the fire pit. There were kayaks & a canoe available for use as well. We were blessed beyond measure, and the colors were spectacular. Thank you Paul & Gina for blessing us with our stay at this beautiful space of heaven!! You both were very gracious and helpful we appreciate your hospitality...we are looking forward to booking from you again!

Serenity achieved

We spent a week at Paul and Gina's property and highly recommend the experience. We had to ask for a late check in and then ended up getting lost, despite great directions from our owners. They could have not been more gracious about the entire fiasco! The suite is exactly as described and was perfect for our vacation. While the owners live above, they were never intrusive and very conscious of our privacy. The gardens and yard are spacious and beautiful and you are right near the water to enjoy the cool breeze and waves. A very clean and well appointed property with the bonus of daily visits from Gina's dog, Jackson. We have been to Big Bay before and appreciate the remoteness and beauty of the area. We are sincerely grateful for the hospitality!

So peaceful and relaxing!!!

What an amazing stay!!!! The lake is beautiful and Gina was such a wonderful host! We enjoyed kayaking on the lake as well as exploring all sorts of surrounding areas. The outdoor space was incredible! We enjoyed sitting out there in the mornings and evenings. Usually during the day we were gone exploring. I can’t say enough about Gina our host. We spent a beautiful night with a fire and Gina and Paul. It did rain on us so we moved under the deck and had a great time. While they were totally unobtrusive, we so enjoyed our interactions and spending time with them! Will definitely stay here again if we ever venture back up to this area!!!!

Fabulous and Quiet

This property is absolutely beautiful, 50 feet away from the lake. Suite was comfortable and had everything you would possibly need for your stay. Gina and Paul were very attentive (but not too attentive) and they were the perfect hosts. My mother is 85 and has some physical challenges and they went way above and beyond to help with anything we needed. I would absolutely love to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

What a wonderful piece of paradise

We had the reviews about how comfortable it was to stay here, so our expectations were high, which often leads to disappointment. Needless to say, that didn't happen. There is something about being so close to the water, aided by such a comfortable and welcoming space, that just makes all your troubles disappear. The only problem with staying with Paul & Gina is the difficulty of leaving. It is a bit remote, but that probably adds to the peacefulness and did not prove a problem to us at all. We stopped in Marquette on our way in, went back for dinner and a symphony concert in the park the next night and then spent our last day soaking up the local color surrounding Anatomy of A Murder, and the real crime that was its basis. If you ask nicely at the Lumberjack Tavern, they will bring out the part of the bar that has the real bullet holes. Or at least they convinced us of that. For our first time in the UP, we could not have made a better selection.

Lake is right out your front door. We have wonderful hiking,biking and four wheel trails. We provide kayaks and canoes. There’s a fire pit to enjoy in the evening. Looking out over the lake you see the beautiful Huron Mountain range.
