Beautiful & Peaceful Retreat

Peace and Serenity

This cabin has everything you would ever want or need. It is fully stocked and nicely furnished. The cabin is great for just couples and families too. The hot tub is an added bonus along with the sites and sounds of the river right outside the cabin. There are several acres to enjoy which contribute to the peace and quiet. We will definitely be staying there again. Highly recommend!!

Guys Get-a-way

I surprised my husband for his 61st birthday with a weekend at the cabin for him and some of his long-time best friends. Let's just say I scored some wife points! The cabin was excellent. The location was perfect. They fished, grilled, hiked and laughed a ton. We will definitely be booking this again!

Family Winter Trip

We took an extended weekend Winter trip with our family. Property was immaculately clean, warm & inviting. Online pictures do not do this listing justice. Truly a site to behold. Travel directions are spot on & communication with the property owner is excellent. We had a wonderful weekend & even got to experience a little snow. Definitely will be rebooking in the future.

Family Getaway

The property is beautiful and remote. We wanted a chance to unplug and unwind with our adult children. We played games and hiked. There was a ramp for my wheelchair and a bedroom the first floor. Wish the toilet in master bath was higher and had an assist bar. This was the second time at this property and we plan to visitation in the future.

Amazing as always

3rd or 4th time at this property and it is our family’s favorite vacation spot. We now come for a week because we found ourselves never wanting to leave. The cabin is amazing. Neat & clean and has all the amenities you’d want. New high speed internet makes it even better if you have to connect for work or school. The property is isolated from other people and you likely won’t see anyone else while you’re there. Gary is an amazing host and goes out of his way for his guests. We will be coming back again, maybe for longer. Thank you Gary! You guys are great!

Amazing property

We have stayed in 4 cabins in the Smithville/Watson area and this was by far our favorite cabin. We come to Oklahoma to get away from the Dallas area and this place does just that. No cell service and slow WiFi was actually a plus. It forced us to unplug. My kids lived by the river and swam all weekend. The water was clean and refreshing. They swam, fished, caugh crawfish and just enjoyed the outdoors. It was awesome. This house is huge too. For our family of 5 it was actually too big! We are used to a 2 bedroom property and I think this one had 4! Owners were awesome and answered all our question. My only critique (and it’s a very small one) was the grill. It was a little challenging (dirty) to clean out and get going. But we managed just fine. I know grills get a lot of mileage at these cabins so just something I’m pointing out. We will be back. And for much longer! Thank you so much!

Peace and Seclusion

Great place to disconnect from the stress of everyday life. The cabin and property is stocked with everything you could possibly need. The property is gated and sits on several secluded acres, plenty of room to spread out and spend time with family. The cabin is beautifully furnished with tons of room. The large deck has a wonderful view and relaxing sounds from the river. This place is truly over the top and we will definitely be visiting again.

God’s Country-My Happy Place

This is the second year I have stayed at the Riverside Retreat. I waited 365 days to return and counted down every day until my arrival. Mr. and Mrs. Abel are the most amazing and accommodating hosts. The home, the entire property, and surrounding area is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. It’s my happy place. It doesn’t get any more beautiful and peaceful than the Riverside Retreat. I will return.

Absolutely Amazing!

I cannot say enough about this property. Opened the front door to jazz music playing and a beautiful scent and it just got better from there. The house itself was beautiful.
