Unique Former Fly Fishing Lodge

Ubicado a solo 8 km del lago Shasta, este antiguo lodge de pesca con mosca está ubicado en una mesa privada con vistas al salvaje y pintoresco río Upper Sacramento. Es la única estructura en el agua por más de 25 millas y es completamente privada pero de fácil acceso. Se encuentra a solo 5 minutos del lago Shasta y a solo 25 minutos de Redding o Mount Shasta.

Perfecto para unas vacaciones de ensueño, una reunión familiar grande o pequeña, bodas, grandes eventos o simplemente una gran aventura de pesca. El albergue puede acomodar hasta 18 personas y tiene un comedor formal con una mesa de 16 '. Con 3 refrigeradores, 1 arcón congelador, 2 hornos, 2 lavaplatos y 2 fregaderos, incluso las comidas más grandes se pueden preparar fácilmente. Perfect family gathering space. Plenty of room to spread out and fun spaces to gather. The dining room was a wonderful surprise - room for everyone and uniquely "decorated". The kitchen and outdoor cooking spaces were perfect for family meals. and of course walking to the river was ideal

The location was so peaceful even with the trains passing - which were quite entertaining and the view from the front porch and yard was beautiful! Well stocked, large kitchen and dining table - Perfect location for our family gathering. The hosts are very responsive and kind.Note that some amenities (outdoor kitchen, spa, fireplace, extra refrigerator) are not as pictured and were not available to use.Overall a wonderful, rustic lodge in a uniquely tranquil setting with great hosts.

Great Spot on Sac River

Great setting on Sac River. Eight of us stayed for a week while fishing Lake Shasta. Plenty of room, clean and quiet.

Pro's - Property was very spacious. Large kitchen and dining room, plenty of space for everyone. Plenty of nice (real) dishes and serving platters. The air conditioning worked great! very peaceful and scenic... it was fun to watch the trains go by while soaking in the Hot Tub. The owner was quick to respond and tried to help answer all of our questions. Con's - Some of the photos are not current. (front porch hot tub area & back kitchen bar area) are not as they are in the photos when we rented.
Outside Bar / BBQ area is gone
Plenty of space for all the cooks to be in the kitchen at the same time
Large dining area with a lot of (real) dishes (provided)
It's OK to eat .... Calories don't count while on vacation.

Nice house and location

Our kids enjoyed the lawn outside and the location next to train tracks so they got to see many trains. Great access to river close by and we enjoyed the dip in the river. House is convenient and the host was responsive.

Great getaway by Lake Shasta

Cute place with 5 small bedrooms for our extended family. Close to lake shasta, a really nice spot on the river. The train is close by but not too noisy. Some of the family enjoyed the hot tub. Great accommodations for an extended family or small wedding party.

Great family get away

This property was a perfect family summer get away. The living spaces are roomy, the sleeping places served 5 different families well. Access to a great swimming beach was nearby. This place really sets the bar for a peaceful getaway. Private river, huge spacious home - perfect for entertaining a large family, large outdoor space. The place was very clean, and excellent communication with the hosts. We plan to book here in the future!! I did not want to leave.

Perfect summer cabin dream!

This lodge was incredible and so perfect for accommodating our large group. We had a large group of 14 for a Bach/Bachelorette weekend and there was more than enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably and with no issue. The kitchen is a nice size and has everything you could need from dishware, cookware, multiple grills, and counter/fridge storage space. The property itself is absolutely GORGEOUS! The lawn is massive and so pretty and green. You have a beautiful view of both the train tracks and the river from the front yard. The river is freezing of course but the nearby water hole is less than a 5 min walk and so refreshing. The hot tub is also very roomy and The owners were so responsive and helpful.10/10 stay! I hate leaving bad reviews, but we can't recommend anyone to stay at this location and the owner is not helpful. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY. You can also read other reviews stating these things so clearly the host is not motivated to do anything to fix it. 1) rental was not clean: crumbs in the couches, a half-drunk water bottle under a table, band aid wrappers on a counter, and spider webs with spiders in the guest bathroom.2) outdoor kitchen space is nothing like the pictures: the chairs are no longer red, but falling apart and faded; grill was covered in mold and would not light (my husband spent an hour trying to clean it of which he should be paid for!); small charcoal grill had one leg falling off (after we drove to town to buy our own charcoal because grill was moldy)3) cabinet door labeled bowls in the kitchen is broken at top hinge and almost fell on my mother's head; toilet seat cracked and pinching in master bath4) dining room walls covered in graffiti with some vulgar handdrawn pictures5) hot tub does not have a deck around it and cover is ripped so does not securely stay on hot tub6) fireplace broken; pool table broken and unplayable7) the worst part: two of the "bedrooms" are on a storm porch with no windows (just plastic covered screens) and no real door which equaled five unusable beds for us; my mom said outlets in these "rooms" also did not work.8) Power was out one night for an extended time but no flashlights or candles in house.

Wonderful family friendly home

Two families of six stayed here for a week and it was perfect. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep and three full bathrooms. The home has a huge grass lawn to play on and the spa was very nice and clean with a view of the mountains, river and trains. The kitchen has everything you could ever need and even a Keurig! It was a huge blessing that there was plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, dish washer detergent, and trash bags. The train does go by a couple of times a day or night. I heard it the first night but slept through it the rest of the nights. We took all eight of our kids down to the sandy beach at the river which is on the right before the property. Crossing the train tracks was no big deal and the kids loved swimming in the river. Bring life jacket for littles and our bigs just floated around in tube rafts. We brought out boat and jet ski. Plenty of parking room and we used the Antlers boat ramp which was 5 minutes from the house. Tons of coves to play in just across from the launch ramp. Loved this house and will definitely stay again! Highly recommend.

Peaceful, Enjoyable beautiful in winter

We found the place really beautiful. Peaceful. It is Exactly shown in pictures. Even though it was winter it was green . Expected good snow and it was there. Clean , enough beddings for 12 to 14 people. Huge loooong table for 15 people to dine. Lavish kitchen . Huge TV, Only problem with TV we found we could attach HDMI but audio could not come through TV speakers , I suggest if you want to enjoy movies get your own bluetooth speaker and use it. But TV is huge and very good. Could not login into netflix in smart tv. But these are not negative points at all as there are simple solutions available. Every guest and kids loved it.

Over all everything went well

Thank you so much for everything we wished we had more time to stay and enjoy everything we were out all day for both l days but overall we all enjoyed quality family time we did not give anyone the wifi password so all teen Agers kids and adults enjoyed time together

Description of property missing key details I wish I understood before renting this home.

The description states: "If it's a Cosy Getaway with no interruptions you're looking for, we have a covered hot tub and a fire-pit overlooking the Sacramento River, with access to a beautiful swimming hole with a sandy beach." In the year 2020 I do not consider "no interruptions" to mean "no WiFi". Although I appreciate that Craig was quick to explain the property is on "the edge of the wilderness" and should have WiFi next year, I think it is misleading not to clearly state that this home currently has no WiFi. The "swimming hole and sandy beach" are really beautiful. We swam every day. It is a busy spot with locals fishing and swimming. The description however fails to state you need to cross the railroad tracks to reach the beach. As a parent, there are real safety concerns about kids crossing the tracks on their own. Although there is a photo online that shows the train tracks are less than 100' from the home, the description makes no mention that the trains run day and night and the windows in the home rattle and tracks squeal with every train passing. There is photo on line of the formal dining room with a set 16-foot table in a room with white walls. I was shocked when we arrived to see that the dinning room walls were completely covered in graffiti. There are plenty of picture online of the graffiti but it is impossible to tell that this is the same room from the photos.
