Tenemos un encantador apartamento familiar de 2 dormitorios, 1ba, cerca del teatro Grand Lake y del lago Merrit. El apartamento está ubicado en una casa de la época de los artesanos, cerca de Lakeshore y Grand Ave en Oakland, que son dos avenidas muy populares con mucho que ofrecer.


La sala de estar es amplia y luminosa e incluye un nuevo sofá cama tamaño queen y TV de pantalla plana ROKU, además de Wi-Fi. También hay una mesa de comedor de tamaño completo en esta sala.

El primer dormitorio tiene una cama queen que es muy cómoda. También hay un tocador, una cómoda y un armario completo. Tenemos un colchón para niños pequeños, un juego Graco Pack n, un asiento para bebé y un gran cubo / juguete de madera para niños pequeños almacenados en este armario para su uso, si está viajando con niños.

El segundo dormitorio tiene un futón con un colchón tamaño queen, que se puede usar como un área de descanso adicional o se puede convertir en una cama. Esta habitación también cuenta con armarios empotrados con amplio espacio de almacenamiento y camas adicionales. Además, hay algunos juegos en los armarios, disponibles para usar.

El baño fue recientemente renovado y tiene una ducha sobre la bañera. Está limpio y bien equipado. El comer en la cocina se establece con una mesa pequeña para 2, que también tiene una hoja para expandirse al asiento 4. La cocina está totalmente equipada con todos sus utensilios y utensilios de cocina básicos. Cuenta con un refrigerador y congelador completos, horno completo con estufa, microondas, tostadora y cafetera.

Nuestro vecindario tiene un gran sentido de comunidad y es muy accesible, con muchos restaurantes, cafés, bares y tiendas a solo unos minutos. Tenemos un mercado Trader Joe s y una tienda de comestibles Safeway a poca distancia. Y todos los sábados se puede caminar unas cuadras hasta el Grand Lake Farmers Market, que es el mejor mercado de la zona, ¡sin duda! Allí encontrará productos orgánicos, una variedad de comidas y entretenimiento. También se encuentra a 15 minutos del centro de San Francisco y a solo 10 minutos del histórico Jack London Square en Oakland, en automóvil. Los autobuses de AC Transit van a las terminales de ferry en Jack London o a BART, por lo que es fácil moverse con o sin un automóvil.

This was my second stay at this ideal Grand Lake property, and it has become my home away from home. Jennifer is incredibly accommodating with special requests, and so quick to respond! I adore this spacious 2 bedroom beauty with the gorgeous bay window view. There is no need to ever drive, everything you could possibly want is within walking distance, and the nearest BART station is just a couple miles away and a very short uber ride. This property is consistently clean, quiet, cozy, and convenient, and the neighborhood is a delight to explore. I am so grateful for this lovely property and hope to continue to visit regularly!

Great Location and kid friendly

We had an enjoyable 4 night stay here. Listing as advertised, and had sleeping option and toys for our 2.5 year old. Also very walkable, which is great in general, but especially with a small child. Would stay again.

We not only enjoyed the apartment, but we also were pleased with it’s close location to restaurants, the Grand Lake Theater, and shopping. The neighborhood is very walkable, or ride-shares were always available. The host was helpful and responsive

This bright, updated, and cheery apartment is located well with great freeway access and in close proximity to walking lake and some of the best Cuban food ever! Check out CANA just about a block away. Thanks for helping our family make some wonderful memories in Oakland and SF.

Excellent stay

You can’t pick a better location. Close to Grand Avenue and Lakeshore Drive and just a short walk to Lake Merritt. Very clean and comfortable. Greg and Jennifer were very communicative and helpful. Would definitely recommend not others and stay again.

As advertised, safe & quiet

Jenn was a terrific host, very responsive and accommodating. Property was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Neighborhood was quiet, and accessing the unit was no problem using instructions sent for check-in. RE: previous reviews bringing up the bathroom window - everything was fine while I stayed. WiFi worked well, easy walking access to farmer's market, shops, restaurants, and lake. If I need a place to stay the next time I visit Oakland, I'll be checking first to see if this rental is available. Highly recommend.

Great stay in Oakland

We stayed at this property twice at the bookends of our vacation since we were flying out of SFO. The property is located near some great restaurants and Trader Joe's is just down the street for easy groceries. There was plenty of space for our party of 6. Parking can be a bit of a hit or miss. It is on a very steep hill and the driveway is too narrow for most modern cars, but we were always able to find a spot nearby and felt that the area was safe. Overall great value for the location and convenience. Thank you!

You are indeed correct, the driveway is indeed steep, but with caution we l’ve parked our minivan there! It does require much attention though! People have backed down onto the stairs. Street parking is definitely easier on our block. But most economy or midsize cars can fit. Definitely not a driveway for big SUV’s or full size vans! We apologize if that was an issue for you guys. But thanks for your honest feedback.

Great base for travelling into San Francisco

Lovely apartment, very spacious. Easy walk to bart to get into San Francisco and some nice places to eat just down the road including the amazing Arizmendi bakery. Owners were very prompt and helpful communication wise. If you're planning to park on the drive I would recommend an SUV for the ground clearance but otherwise we parked with no issues.

Lovely! Just missing a locked window

The apartment is in a safe, lovely, walkable neighborhood. Everything about the description is accurate. The beds were comfy and the remodeled bathroom checks all the boxes. The apartment has a host of items that made traveling with little kids so much easier. There is a travel crib, toys, coloring items, and more. The driveway is narrow so only use if you have the skills of a valet. Parking on the street might take a minute but doable. The only reason it’s not a full 5 stars is that one of the windows in the bathroom doesn’t actually lock, which we realized toward the end of our stay.

Great Location

Could not have asked for a better place for my friend and me, who were in Oakland to attend a wedding. We did not have a car, so the convenience of having lots of restaurants and a grocery store within easy walking distance was very much appreciated. It's also close to several bus lines including at least 2 that will take you to/from the MacArthur BART stop, for those using SFO. The single bathroom is easy for two non-coupled people to share because it is separate from the bedrooms. I would definitely stay here again, and my friend said he would move in if the owners would let him rent it! Since he lives in NY, that's just talk, but it says a lot about the place.

Fine but…

Pros: The place was spacious and in a good location. Cons: everything seemed secondhand or worn, ants in the bathroom, no top sheets on the beds or any spare sheets in storage, and two windows had broken locks which I immediately alerted the owners about. They initially responded by asking for details but then stopped communicating with me for over an hour. I opened a case with VRBO customer service and then the owners came up with a solution but they didn’t even offer a discount for the inconvenience. Wouldn’t stay again.

Hi, sorry to hear your disappointment with our place. We were on the road when you informed us about the locks and immediately had our maintenance person come fix this for you. You failed to respond mid conversation as well when trying to schedule the repair. Maybe signal issues??? Also we use duvet covers but all bedrooms and linen closets have plenty of extra sheets in the dressers and cabinets as listed in our welcome letter/house information. I’m sorry you were the first person to report the window lock was broken so this musta happened recently before your stay. Considering how fast we got our maintenance guy there to help it’s disappointing to see such a hostile review and expecting money back!? Sorry that’s not how Vrbo hosts handle such especially since it was taken care of with not much delay.

A Hidden Gem in the Lakeshore Neighborhood

So many good things to say about this wonderful abode. I stayed on the main floor (two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, living room...all very spacious with high ceilings). The moment I walked into this house, I felt at home (reminded me of my 1920 house in Seattle...in fact, this house was built in 1922 and has the same hardwood floors as my home. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen has everything: glasses, cups, bowls, pans, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator/freezer and cute little nook table. There are spices in the cupboards and the hosts stocked a bit of food for me in the refrigerator (nice touch). The bathroom had shampoo, soap and many towels and washcloths...no need to bring your own. There is an ironing board with a new iron. The house is VERY QUIET. I slept great each of the eleven nights I stayed. Plenty of pillows and bedding. The house is located only two and a half blocks away from the small, but bustling, Grand Avenue area where there are many restaurants. Also, a great bookstore (Walden Pond Books) on Grand, just a few minute walk from the house. I also spent a lot of time at The Grand Lake move theater...again, just a few minute walk from the house. The neighborhood is super cute and very walkable. There are a lot of nice houses in the area and I felt safe walking around at all times. The owner, Jennifer, was incredibly responsive to all of my messages. She was really on top of things, answering all of my questions within minutes. A+++++++++

Good Oakland location

The right place for a family trip. We visited Oakland, San Francisco and Sausalito from there. It was easy to walk to Oakland and to drive to other places. There are plenty of stores and restaurant nearby. The information provided upon our arrival was also very good. The house had all needed and in good condition. The parking slot can be a bit challenging for a good car. However, our stay was very pleasant. Moreover, the availability and communication of the host were excellent. Thank you,

Very good house

Wonderful house. Fully equipped and comfortable. The owner was very communicative and helpful. Highly recommended.

We lived happily here for many years in the upstairs apartment. Our family outgrew the apartment last year. We love the neighborhood and are sure you will too. Location, Location, Location! Our triplex is tucked away right behind Lakeshore Avenue. It's a lively area, within short walking distance to anything you may need. It also has easy access to public transportation, for traveling to San Francisco or anywhere in the bay area, and quick and easy freeway access, if traveling by car.

Our place has a lovely garden in back. Also the short, easy walk to restaurants, groceries and Grand Lake Farmer's Market make it fun and convenient.
