Great house on the coast. Loved the outdoor grill and upper deck views. Quiet neighborhood.No A/C made the upstairs bedrooms a little warm, but they had fans and the house cooled off each night with the windows all open and coastal breezes.

Schönes Haus mit tollem Meerblick

Wir haben unseren Aufhenhalt in dem Haus sehr genossen und uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig abgesehen vom Rauschen des Meeres. Am letzten Abend haben wir ein sehr freundliches Gespräch mit Nuno gehabt.Wir können das Haus absolut empfehlen.

Incredible View!

This was a great house in a quiet neighborhood. The balcony was the highlight with a spectacular view. There is also direct access to the beach. Nuno was very helpful!

This place could not be any better. Central location and also secluded. Loved to home. Beds were comfortable and it was amazing to sleep to the sound of waves in the distance.

Absolutely Stunning and Peaceful Respite

Nuno's home is absolutely wonderful - the perfect place for a peaceful stay. The views are fantastic, and hearing the ocean break against the (basically isolated and private) volcanic beach below washes away any travel stress instantly. Nuno clearly planned the property well- nearly every room has a view of the ocean. The bed was comfortable, and the luxury of having an ocean front view and window in a second story bedroom was awesome. Tons of little things that made the property special, including many thoughtful notes and welcome gifts (biscotos, tea, coffee, water). Nunoe was very communicative as well. If we could give 10 stars, we would! Stay here, don't hesitate!

My sister and I enjoyed our stay. It was challenging to find as we were exhausted from our trip but Nuno was very helpful and a very responsive host. Lovely to hear the waves crashing on the rocks below. We were disappointed that we could only see the waves and ocean if we were standing on the terrace (not while sitting). Comfortable beds. Overall it is a nice place to stay.

Great beach house with an unbelievable view!

Nuno was very attentive to every detail during our stay. It was very easy to communicate with him. The house is perched above a cliff with a trail diwn to the cove. The outdoor space was lovely allowed for us to enjoy a glass of wine under cover and protected from the wind and rain. Nuno provided all the amenities and made ut very easy for us to cook a few meals. Nuno recommended a restaurant nearby, Mare Cheia and they had amazing fish brought to your table for you to select. Was thevest tuna I've ever had! Obrigado Nuno!

Awesome stay in Sao Miguel

My wife and I enjoyed our amazing trek and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Casa do Mar. From going to bed at the sound of waves crashing against the shore to roosters wakening us, it was a treat to enjoy the house on the cliff. The country is so beautiful and we enjoyed the local cuisine. This location does require access to a rental car to get around. If you are looking for a location away from the city, yet right on the coast, this is the place for you.

Gerade die Terrasse hat einen tollen Blick – zudem ist alles sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Unser Host war wahnsinnig freundlich und hilfsbereit. Einzig ein Tipp: Mit Kleinkindern etwas schwierig, da überall offene Treppen und Geländer (durch die Kinder durchpassen) sind, v.a. sogar beim zweiten Schlafzimmer. Sonst gern wieder.

Awesome visit

From the get go the host, Nuno, was very helpful and informative. The house is cozy and very clean, not to mention the view from the deck. The clothes washer was also a plus. We were able to park off the street, which was great as the streets are narrow. We highly recommend this facility.

Beautiful location but needs a little attention

Very nice, quiet location overlooking the ocean. It is possible to walk down to the beach but pay attention, as the path is not well maintained. Property manager very good with communication about check-in. Best feature of the house is the spacious porch with outdoor shower. When we arrived, the house was very hot, especially the upstairs where the bedrooms are (all windows were closed, and there is only one small fan in one bedroom). We also encountered a few large cockroaches. House could be amazing but needs some loving touches.

Rental with a view!

This is a great place to stay if you want to be more in an “off the beaten path” area with beautiful views. It is in walking distance to a nearby waterfall and beach bar/cafe. You can also climb down to a secluded beach area right by the house. It is also in a central location to get to all the key sites on the island. I would caution that taller/larger people would find it a challenge with the low ceilings and a small shower. Nuno is great with communication for anything needed.

Beautiful property, stay here you won’t regret it

Very helpful host and beautiful views distinguish this house with so much charm and great location. Half hour from Ponta Delgada and ten minute walk from a fantastic beach and small local restaurant. Great spot to explore the island from, but honestly you would be fine just staying here and doing nothing too. Go see the local waterfall!

A Wonderful Stay!

Nuno’s house was perfect for us. The location was convenient to all of the island. We loved the little village of Porto Formosa and hope to return. There are some tucked away gems of restaurants in the village that outdid the food we ate in the larger cities. The local beach Praia dos Moinhas was outstanding and a short stroll away. Nuno always responded right away to our questions and was a terrific host. We could not have chosen a better place to spend a week (that went by all too fast).
