Cute little cottage

We stayed 4 nights and it was perfect. The sunroom was wonderful. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and watching the dragonflies dance. We got to see a big Ole bull frog, fish jumping, and a couple of sandhill cranes in the front yard. Will definitely stay again!!

July 2024 -NOT WORTH IT 1)Host operates/communicates with ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY! Will GHOST your messages when any issues arise 2)Mstr Bdrm & Lvg Rm had several LARGE ANTS which is when host stopped communication 3)HUGE SECURITY CONCERN: interior access door with a clear glass window for attached active business. Perfect home description: "Let's create a vacation rental with our Inherited Grandma's 1970's time-capsule and paint everything gray with white trim, even her old furniture; Coupled with a hodge-podge of garage sale mismatched furniture, even beds. Everything is old in this place, from grandma's itchy polyester, small sofa which is the ONLY LIVING ROOM SEATING for watching grandma's outdated TV w/antenna service --to--Little Johnny's youth twin bed from when he got his first big-boy bed in1975 --to-- grandma's dingy Vintage Iron that pairs with a 30yo rusty ironing board. Let's also RENT out the attached garage to a small businessman and ignore that there is an interior door with a window into the home. Even the ANTS seem to have been there for years!! Lake House

Overall the stay was good. Two things that prevent a 5 star stay, no where in the description does it mention a dog grooming business attached to the house and a one way door into the house from the grooming business which allows anyone in the grooming business to come into the house at will.

Great relaxing getaway

Overall it could not have been a better and more peaceful process. I think the ONLY issues I could report is that the water pipes are noisy, and I wish there had been a headboard for the master bed. Otherwise, the property is perfect, and the hosts are so accommodating. Even provide fishing gear! I couldn't be happier and will stay here again with my family in the future.

Nice and clean

We needed a pet friendly place to stay for funeral. Rental was neat and clean and met our needs for two nights we were there. There were a few things that could be improved in this price range. There are no smart tv ‘s or cable and antenna went out often. Water had strong sulfur smell and beds were not the most comfortable. However, the home was very clean and nicely decorated. We didn’t really use kitchen or outdoor water area but they looked well appointed. So grateful we found somewhere so clean and quiet on fairly short notice.

Incredible location and cute house!

We come to the area for a graduation and it was the perfect retreat for our family! We loved the lake, the house and the owners were wonderful to work with. Even stayed an extra night! Thank you!

Property even better in person. We loved fishing off the dock. Used the canoe and my nephew used the kayak when he visited from graduating from navy bootcamp

Quiet Neighborhood

Quiet neighborhood. Comfortable, well-furnished house. Good wifi. Mediocre TV. No ice cube trays, no washer/dryer. Water has a sulfur smell but tasted fine. The advertised canoe was extremely heavy and more than the two of us could manage. Especially with a steep entry into the water on round rocks which were like marbles underfoot. The rowboat was even heavier. So these boats didn’t work for us, quite a disappointment.

Perfect Relaxing Cottage

I stayed with my 2 adult children for a quick weekend getaway. This place was spotless! The owners have thought of everything, and the house is well equipped with anything you might need. Right on the water, I think I saw one car the whole weekend. And yet a short drive to absolutely any shopping you might need.

Accommodations that worked well

We only stayed a couple of days, but the accommodations worked well for us, there was a queen bed on one room, the other room had two twins, there was an additional twin mattress in a closet and if needed a twin cot.

Weekend get away

Needed a place to hang out with my nephews and also include their dog. This was a perfect setting. We were close enough to Milwaukee and spent the day there. Easy place to get to and plenty of stores and supplies near by.

Charming cottage in a quiet and pretty setting

We had a relaxing week-end in this beautiful cottage. It was easy to find and so quiet! The place was very clean, decorated with care and taste, comfortable bed , fast wifi. We would love to come back!

the property is as advertised, there is a business connected to property and We had no problems with this during our stay. Property was clean and quite , had plenty of admenities owners was friendly and gave speedy response to questions on line. Would recommend others to stay . The beds were covered in some protection and plastic, which when you moved during your sleep a person could hear the plastic crumble. Other than that reall enjoyed our stay.

Waterfront house to enjoy with screen room Antioch IL

The house and area are lovely. What is wrong is that the owners have a dog grooming business in part of the house and it is not disclosed in the listing. It was disruptive, noisy, and smelly in the house (from shampoo/cologne). If you enlarge the photo of the front of the house, on the left front you will see part of a door. Inside that door is where the dog grooming salon is located. The closest driveway to the house, by that door, is where the dogs are dropped off and picked up. You will be told not to use that driveway. The business was operational during our stay on Tuesday and Wednesday around 10am-4pm, and Thursday it started at 11am. This business operation should be disclosed on the listing for all renters to know about. I don't know why this problem isn't mentioned in past reviews, but can only guess the business is newer. Upon complaining to the owner and requesting a refund, he replied that he can use his property however he needs, and that we are trying to get something for nothing. VRBO was no help. They told me an owner can run a business from their rental house as long as there's a separate door and do not enter the part of the house the renter is occupying. VRBO gave us a very small refund for a fee and said they would ask the owner to disclose the business but that they cannot force him, so beware. Before renting a VRBO house one needs to ask each owner if there's a business being run there or beware. Let me add that we had rented the house the week before, cancelled due to covid, and the owner gave us a refund. Yes that was very nice, but he never told us there's a business operation at the house or we would have never rented the house at all.
