¡Bienvenido a BIGHORN LODGE y las cabañas en Jo Love Meadows! Esta casa de madera nueva y personalizada se encuentra en Jo Love Ranch y está adyacente a Sharon's Meadow. Esta área es ampliamente conocida por su extensa variedad de vida silvestre, que incluye ovejas de borrego cimarrón, ciervo mula, alces y otros animales de caza pequeños. La casa de troncos está rodeada de impresionantes vistas y todas son suyas a través de cada una de las ventanas. Las aguas termales de Mt Princeton están a solo 5 km del albergue.
Historia
 Jo Witchey se sintió atraído por el esplendor de las Montañas Rocosas y se mudó de Mansfield, Ohio, a Denver. En 1925, Jo se mudó a Chalk Creek Canyon, donde picos de 14,000 pies enmarcaban el valle. En un ascenso al Monte Princeton (14.197 '), se encontró con un guía y cazador llamado Mark Love, con quien más tarde se casó. Compraron un pequeño rancho en Chalk Creek Canyon, comenzaron un campamento de cabañas para veraneantes y lo llamaron Love Ranch.
Después de cuatro años de matrimonio, Mark murió en un accidente de caballo. Aunque Jo estaba desconsolada por la muerte de Mark, ella se quedó durante más de 40 años para dirigir el rancho y entretener a los invitados. Un invitado frecuente y amigo de Jo fue Alex Haley, el autor de Roots, y el presidente Dwight D. Eisenhower visitó una cabaña incluida en el complejo Bighorn Lodge.

This property was absolutely breathtaking! The home is incredibly spacious, and the photos simply do not capture how beautiful it truly is in person. The panoramic mountain views were stunning, and each evening brought spectacular Colorado sunsets that painted the sky with color. One of our favorite parts was watching wildlife peacefully grazing in the meadow right outside the house, which made the experience feel even more magical and authentic.If you’re looking for a true Colorado mountain getaway, this property delivers everything you could hope for and more. We highly recommend it and would gladly stay here again!

Christmas With Family

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It has everything we needed and enough rooms for all the family. Beautiful location. Loved getting up to see the mountains being hit by the sun and looking at the stars at night.

Excellent location and setting!

Everything was in spotless condition and the managers were in contact with us. The location was excellent. Deer & Bighorn sheep would graze in the field every evening next to the cabin.

AMAZING FAMILY RETREAT

It was wonderful! Plenty of room, well stocked with dishes & towels. It rained, it snowed even. We had enough of everything to be comfortable.Lots of wildlife sightings. So much fun had by all.

Overall a wonderful property. The only complaint is the chain kept falling off the upstairs toilet so it wouldn’t flush, we picked up dog poop that wasn’t from our dogs and most of the dishes / pans had to be washed before use. They were pretty gross.

Absolutely Amazing

The pictures on line do not do this property justice. Its located in a perfect area nestled between two mountains with a gorgeous open field in the front. The cabin is much bigger than the pictures show, plenty of room for everyone and its beautiful in side. The shuffleboard was a hit with the entire family, nice touch. The property manager Brent, is available any time of the day and is so nice, We will be renting here again for sure.

The. Best. EVER.

By far the BEST home we have booked in over 20 years of renting. We ALWAYS forget something- this home had everything imaginable in the kitchen including spices etc. So grateful for the level detail the owner/ mgmt company provided our short 3 days was perfect! I’m from Philly- we gathered around the TV (1 of 4 in the home) and our loudness couldn’t annoy anyone (except my hub- always one in the fam lol).

Gods country!

Love the location, views are beautiful. Convenient drive to the hot springs. Make sure you have you groceries if you don’t want to drive 20-30min to town. We all enjoyed our time here. Recommendations - remove snow and ice from the patio with grills on it. Post instructions so people will clean the grills when done. Improve accuracy of post.

We enjoyed our stay at the Bighorn Lodge. Beautiful location with access to all the outdoor activities we wanted to enjoy during our stay. I would definitely recommend your property to family and friends.Two items for feedback follow:1. The address posed difficulties for us as we passed the same address on other side of street first and w/o any cell or internet access; we went back to hot springs to borrow their internet to find the details from your emails. a specific headsup about address would have helped us find your property sooner.2. BBQ grill could certainly use an upgrade for the cost of your property.

Honest review

We loved the place however they could upgrade the beds is my only complaint. With the money they charge per night and all the extras fees I expected a bit more as far as beds. However we had a great time despite the covid -19 out break everything was closed so we had to stay at the cabin mostly. The deer were Amazing. It was over all a great time just getting away from home! Host was great! I'm glad he talked me out of trying to cancel due to covid -19 outbreak

Christmas 2020 Getaway

The Bighorn Lodge would be ideal for a mountain retreat any time of year. We chose the week of Christmas for our family gathering. The property offered all amenities that we could possibly hope for, with the exception of a hot tub. We stayed plenty warm on the coldest of days and really enjoyed the southern exposure sunshine on the front porch. A drink on the porch following one of my daily hikes was just what the doctor ordered... The Christmas Day shuffleboard tournament was a most memorable event (the shuffleboard was an excellent addition to the property). I could go on and on with a list of property highlights and highly recommend The Bighorn Lodge for your next mountain getaway.

Beautiful Location!

Could not ask for a better location! Would have loved to sit and relaxed right at the cabin, had time allowed. Will make same complaint about beds not being the most comfortable, but the house had plenty of room for a large group. We loved the shuffleboard table and loft area! Served as a good base location for our few days of Jeeping and exploring town!
