Construido en más de 2. 5 acres, la gran finca privada está situada en un entorno tranquilo e impecable. Consiste en la casa de los propietarios, una piscina de borde infinito con un cenador de estilo indonesio para relajarse mientras contempla la jungla, y la casa naranja, en alquiler. Los edificios están rodeados por un enorme jardín tropical con muchos árboles nativos, bambú gigante y árboles frutales locales ubicados cerca de la selva tropical y el río Morete. Monos de cara blanca, tucanes, guacamayos escarlata y muchos otros animales son visitantes frecuentes.

Uvita, con su infraestructura que incluye bancos, supermercados y restaurantes, así como las playas y el Parque Nacional Marino Ballena, se encuentran a poca distancia en coche. Para Dominical es un viaje en coche de 9 millas / 10 minutos. Uno de los parques nacionales más populares de Costa Rica, el Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, cerca de Quepos, está a solo 37 millas / 1 hora en auto. La propiedad está ubicada con fácil acceso a la carretera principal.

La casa naranja está construida a poca distancia de la casa de los propietarios. Fue diseñado para proporcionar privacidad a aquellos que desean simplificar y eliminar el desorden físico y psicológico en su vida y reconectar y proteger la naturaleza, nuestra fuente.

El interior abierto está dividido por muebles empotrados en las áreas de dormitorio, armario, cocina y sofá cama. Grandes puertas correderas conducen al porche, que da al jardín tropical y proporciona una interacción fácil entre el interior y el exterior. Un exuberante baño al aire libre en el jardín invita a los huéspedes a experimentar una ducha bajo las estrellas y enfatiza el carácter abierto de la casa.

Un sofisticado sistema de ventilación de persianas de madera y ventilación del techo utiliza el flujo de aire natural para prescindir de la necesidad de aire acondicionado.

El área de la piscina se encuentra al lado de la casa de los propietarios y consta de una gran piscina infinita de 3 x 11 m con ducha de un poste de bambú y una glorieta de estilo indonesio para relajarse. La piscina será exclusiva para su uso durante su estancia.

Desde el área de la piscina, disfrutará de impresionantes vistas del atardecer sobre la jungla circundante de la "fila costeña", la cordillera costera que se eleva a más de 3000 pies sobre la costa del Pacífico sur de Costa Rica.

1) ¿A qué distancia está el aeropuerto internacional de San José?
Recomendamos alquilar un auto. Se trata de una unidad de 124 millas / 3-4 horas desde el aeropuerto internacional de San José a Uvita. También recomendamos hacer el viaje durante el día. La mejor ruta comienza desde el aeropuerto tomando la autopista 27 en dirección a Caldera y luego la autopista 34 a través de Jaco, Quepos, Dominical a Uvita.

2) ¿Qué tan cerca está la Casa Naranja de la playa?
La playa más cercana es Playa Hermosa, a 2,4 km de la Casa Naranja. La famosa playa de cola de ballena es de aprox. 3 millas de distancia. Todos juntos estamos cerca de 7 playas diferentes aquí en el área de Uvita. Necesitará un automóvil para ir allí.

Nature lovers’ paradise

We loved the orange house. The grounds are amazing. We woke up everyday to the sound of tropical birds and we only had to sit back on the porch to see all kinds of hummingbirds, tanagers, toucans and more. We also saw an agouti crossing the yard! The house itself is beautifully done and was a good base for us to visit nearby beaches, waterfalls and take a snorkeling trip to Caño island.

Beautiful villa

The orange villa is modern, comfortable and well equipped. Perfect for a couple. The terrasse is very nice and intimate in a beautiful garden with bamboo and fruit trees. The outdoor bathroom is great. Hermosa beach is at 5 minutes by car and Ballena national park and beaches at 15 minutes. No need for a 4x 4 to get to the villa. Udo is a perfect host, proactive and discrete. Very good communication before and during our stay. We strongly recommend. Thanks again Udo

Tout est parfait, Udo est tellement accueillant, la maison est splendide, décorée avec soin, il y a de belles oeuvres d’art un peu partout et toutes ces variétés d’arbres fruitiers, de plantes et de fleurs qui nous entourent en font un endroit de rêve. It’s a hideaway

This is a cozy , well appointed casita perfect for a couple. The decor was exceptional with artwork creating a unique environment. It has everything you need for at home cooking , and the infinity pool is great. The outside bathroom and shower was an unexpected pleasurable experience . We would come back and stay for another adventure to this part of. Costa Rica

A wonderful retreat

The Orange House was a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the nearby beaches and national parks. Udo did a great job of welcoming us and taking care of all of our needs. Loved all the small touches like fresh pineapple and homemade granola! The pool was fabulous and was a welcome place to cool off and read a book after a day out! The property itself was quiet and wonderfully surrounded by glorious flowers and bamboo! All in all, a very nice retreat! We did not want to leave!

Spectacular property

Udo's orange house is a perfect little suite on his property. The whole property is gorgeous and very well thought out design. The highlight of the house may very well be the bathroom though. Pictures cannot show how good it looks. My wife commented that it should be in magazines. Udo was attentive to our requests but also gave us our space so it really feels like you have the property to yourself. We saw plenty of toucans, heard howler monkeys and had a troupe of white faced monkeys go by about 50 feet from the patio. We were only there a few days but they were quite lovely. If we were back in the area again we wouldn't hesitate to stay again if it were just the two of us.

A piece of paradise

The house is a lovely, airy, open place surrounded by a beautiful estate. The open air bathroom is amazing. The pool is gorgeous and perfect for a dip after a hot day. The owner, Udo, was very accomodating and helpful. The whole area is very calm, quiet and perfect for a getaway. We will be back soon.

The Best place!

The best place we stayed traveling through Costa Rica. We spend a week here last February and loved it. Orange House is Stylish, cosy, and has everything to feel home. The outside Shower is a bonus. Kirsten & Udo are very friendly and discreet; also Security dog Taifun is doing a great job. We could use there pool private and had a great massage at the poolside. And you will find all you need, as a tourist in a distant away. The Pacific, very beautiful beaches, Diving spots, nice restaurants, supermarkets. This place we will definitely recommend to friends.

A tranquil gem!

My husband and I have just spent the most relaxing and tranquil two week stay at the Orange House over the Christmas/New Year holiday. Kerstin and Udo are charming and discreet hosts. What they have achieved here, returning what was once relatively barren cattle-ranching land back to an ecologically diverse garden filled with native and non-native plants that attract a variety of birds and insects is a joy to behold. It is a little "Eden"' tucked away up an unpaved road and yes less than five minutes' away from all the amenities of Uvita. The praises received from other reviewers are well-deserved. I, for one, will find every other bathroom - no matter how cutting-edge - mundane and ordinary after experiencing their magnificent outdoor shower and sharing it with the odd visiting bird or gecko! The view from the infinity pool across to the surrounding hills is breathtaking and it is a delight to watch the antics of the birds from there at sunset. Typhoon, the guard dog is the most gentle and well-mannered I have ever met. We had planned to do all sorts of excursions during our stay and yet we hardly left the property, so comfortable did we feel. Attention to detail and a sense of pride in what they have achieved here is evident. If you would like to stay in a beautiful hideaway and yet be close to all the restaurants and other amenities, then this is the place for you. We would love to stay here again. Thanks Kerstin and Udo for sharing your exquisite home with us.

Deserves all of the accolades & 5-star reviews

Ditto to all of the rave reviews of this property. Kerstin & Udo have built an absolutely amazing guest house that is private, serene, gorgeous & green, and they are the consummate warm & gracious hosts. We would live here if we could. Compared to really expensive hotels & options, this place competes & excels at an amazing rate especially given the amenities & lush surroundings. Cannot speak highly enough of everything about the Orange House.

Tropical Paradise

I was looking forward to stay at this place and it was one of the highlights of our 10 days trip in Costa Rica: - the owner are very nice, we got to talk with them but they know how to give you privacy even when they were in their house and we were in the pool - the accommodation is bigger than it looks on the pictures - that infinity pool is just amazing, finishing your day with a good beer/glass of wine or starting your day with a swim is a real treat - the outdoor shower is gorgeous, the bed is very comfortable, the kitchen has all utensils you need - we loved to chill on the hammock in the evening and watch the storm moving in - there is so many birds on the property and right in front of the patio - the accommodation is well located at 5min from a free beach and 5min from the uvita center where you ll find a supermarket - there is no a/c however the fan plus all the vent in the house keep it at a comfortable temperature at night - the apartment is far enough of the owner's house to have your privacy - despite being away from the ocean you could still hear the waves at night - we also love the owner's dog visiting us and the delicious jams and fruits in the fridge at our arrival It was an amazing stay it felt like being on honeymoon in a tropical paradise surrounded by palm trees, guava trees, all kind of beautiful/colorful tropical plants, hummingbirds. We'll come back for sure. Thanks

The time we spend in the Orange House was the best holiday we could ever imagine. The beautifull house with a great garden full of trees and flowers invited us to relax the whole day at the awesome pool. On other days we visited quite beaches and fresh rivers+waterfalls located only a few kilometres away. We watched whales and dolphines and many other nice animals. The house is clean and well equipped, the owners are very friendly and helpful. The Rainforest shower in the open bath is absolutely amazing! Hopefully we can come back soon

C'est un endroit inspirant, idéal pour séjourner et réveiller tous ses sens. Une pure beauté ,tout a été pensé avec goût, rien n'a été laissé au hasard. Pucci und Cicci

es waren wunderbare Ferien in diesem Fruehjahr! In Deutschland froren die Menschen bei Minus 20 Grad und wir hatten bei 30 Grad am Swimmingpool unseren Aperitif! Dieses Gaestehaus in Uvita bei Kerstin und Udo ist ein Traum. Den Tucanen zuzuhören und das Faultier zu beobachten ist ein großartiges Erlebnis. Mitten im Dschungel kann man sich wunderbar erholen. Auch das Duschen in der Naturdusche ist ein herrliches Gefühl. Eine angenehme Brise weht den ganzen Tag durchs Tal. Morgens freuten wir uns schon mit dem treuen Hund Taifun einen Morgenslpaziergang machen zu duerfen. Ein Picnic am Meer bei Sonnenuntergang oder am Pool sich zu aalen ließ uns den Alltagsstress vergessen. Eine Dschungeltour vom Longhouse durch den nahen Fluss mit Udo war ein Höhepunkt unserer Reise. Es war alles sehr liebevoll bereitet, dafür ein herzliches Dankeschön an euch Zwei. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!!

Vacances au paradis

Du 23 janvier au 21 février 2012, nous avons passé un mois de vacances au Costa Rica. Pendant deux semaines nous étions les invités de Kerstin et Udo, dans leur très accueillante maison sur la colline de Uvita, la Longhouse. Les très abondants petit-déjeuners qui nous ont été servis tous les matins avec amour et savoir-faire, l´ambiance chaleureuse et sympathiyque et les bons conseils que nous ont prodigués tous les jours Kerstin et Udo pour nos randonnées ou visites, ont contribué à la pleine réussite de nos vacances. En ce qui me concerne ce sont les plus belles et intéressantes vacances de ma vie. Nous reviendrons surement. Encore tous nos profonds remerciements à Kerstin et Udo pour l´excellente programmation. Lovers getaway from Aspen and Oakland

The Uvita Long House was far and above our expectations. Upon arrival it was as though exhaling for the very first time. Just a tad off the beaten path, this home is far from this world. The kindness of Kerstin and Udo as we arrived was very welcoming. The serenity and overall sense of well being is just amazing. There are many great day getaways very close by, secluded beaches, hikes, mangrove tours and dolphin/whale watching. All of which were great additions. Be aware though, once you get to this beautiful little paradise it is hard to leave. Do yourself a favor and don't! Take a whole day to relax, lounge in the hammock, poolside and just breathe. We did, and will definitely visit again.
