We loved our stay. The ocean was right there. The pool was right there and clean with bathroom. Beach chairs provide with a cost. The only thing I wish the property provided was at least two beach chairs.

The condo unit itself was fine. The amenities was not all that good. First of all, you have to drive 8 miles away to get a key to let you in the buildilng, and into the condo. When you leave, you have to drive the same distance to drop off the keys. Being that you're a guess and not a resident, the only door you are allowed to enter is the front door to the building. When you leave the beach, you have to walk all the way around to the front of the building to use the key to get in, since guests are not allowed to use the access code to the other doors. There is an indoor pool, and supposedly an outdoor pool, but the guests are not allowed to use the pools unless you pay a 20.00 deposit to the manager on site. We never saw anyone to pay this deposit to. Per the instructions we were given, it said we are to put all dirty dishes in the dishwasher at checkout and turn it on. We were not given any dishwashing detergent. The instructions gave two phone numbers to call for cleaning needs. One to a Ricardo, and one to I believe was Sarah. We left messages at both these numbers, and noone called back. We called the realty place that rented us the condo, and they said the dishwashing detergent was in the convenience packet that is on the counter. When I said that there was no convenience packet, and that must be why we were missing so many items in the kitchen and bathrooms, she did not know how to respond.

Dirty, Filthy Unit

We walked into a dirty, uncleaned unit. I spend hours when arriving cleaning as the property is secure and will not allow third party cleaners onto property after 5pm. The cleaners came the next morning, but we could not use the bathrooms or unit with it being so dirty the day/evening we arrived. Bathrooms had layers of hair, dirt and grime. The floors had layers of dirt as though it had not been cleaned for a long time. We had to go purchase new sheets and blankets from Walmart to use. We were refunded for cleaning fee- that still does not make up for the hours of cleaning and the purchase of cleaning and bedding products. Towels- they supplied they are white thin and dirty with brown marks. It wasn’t just that it was not clean, but the condo is in dire need of a deep cleaning. There are layers of dirt and grime. Everyday was a battle in taking a shower. The shower rod was taped together, shower rings would not slide and would pop right off- then once in the shower - it was a battle with the plastic liner. The unit is in need of basic maintenance, the wallpaper is coming off the wall and the baseboards are dirty with large chips of wood missing. The resort offers many amenities but this unit does not offer access to the amenities. The one oceanfront pool that we could access had gross floaters. Carolina Resort vacations manage this property, they should be out inspecting the properties to make sure the units are properly being cleaned and maintained.

This property deserves 5 star everything was ready for us when we got there! Amazing views, comfortable beds, and completely stocked up on all kitchen appliances! Short walk to the beach we love staying this is our 3rd year look forward to many more stays!

We tried others, but nothing compares to our satisfaction with Kingston. The building is quiet, the deck is huge and you have an amazing view. The price point is also great for the location. It's a simple rental and meets all our needs.

Great location. Secure, but condo needs cosmetic work, couple of electrical outlets were loose and plate covers and wall paper needed touch up work. Ocean views were awesome. Would stay at this property again.

What to expect when arriving

I want to write this review to help others know what to to expect…the listing is very accurate on what you get. But don’t forget to stop and get toilet paper, paper towel, soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher pods, and beach towels. The key situation as mentioned in other reviews is a pain especially when other units have a lock box and their are other rental companies within 2 mins of the condo. But now you know before booking that it’s about a 20 min drive to and from the key location. You have to pay $20 cash for a pool key. The unit has lots of puzzles but no games or movies. The TVs take some getting used to to figure out. The small bathroom has a urine smell that doesn’t seem to go away. There’s several blankets in the small bedroom, some which are usable and some that are just bedspreads. The big bedroom had one extra blanket that I wouldn’t Touch, along with stained pillows. The big bed had a mattress protector with a blood stain. The fridge had food stains left and the dishwasher had leftover dirty dishes. The unit is over crowded with decorations that we just put in closets so they wouldn’t get broke, the drawers in the little bedroom don’t work. Now for the good things-the view is amazing. You can hear the ocean from each room. The balcony is huge and you can play games and have breakfast-wish there was a bigger table and better chairs. The big bed is very comfy. The couch is also comfortable. The garbage Shute is right down the hall. It’s a short walk to the pool

Great property. Great location. Excellent condo. NOTE - since you’re renting from the owner directly through VRBO, you only have access to a small outdoor pool on the property and one indoor pool. So just use the beach

Very disappointed in the checkin/checkout process.

I did not like that Carolina Properties was located so far away from my rental and that it was such a difficult process to get my keys after hours. I won't use vrbo again for any vacation travel.

Fantastic Location

This unit was just as advertised. It was a good size, very clean, had all kitchen appliances needed, and had a huge deck with great views of the ocean. The location, building, and grounds are one of the best in Myrtle Beach.

On the Beach! Wonderful Balcony!

Stayed here a week for both vacation (spouse and me) and a conference (me). The greats: Right on the beach with direct beach access from the main building! Spacious master suite opens to balcony. The balcony was wonderful and large for a rental, ran the entire length of the unit and provided great views of the beach and ocean. 10th floor away from ground noise/activity and a nice view. Fast elevators with little waiting or sharing. North facing condo; sunrise views and protection from direct hot afternoon sun. Restricted convenient parking adjacent to condo building. Superb location within Kingston Plantation so there's some access control and security. Well located with outstanding access to upscale restaurants in northern Myrtle Beach and southern North Myrtle Beach. Kitchen appeared well stocked with accessories - although we ate out except for morning coffee. (Recommend a starter package of coffee and a couple of filters be added to the courtesy package.) The neutrals (no real negatives): Smaller 2nd BR w/2 twins. Fine for us as we used it to store luggage. Probably good for children; not so much for another couple. Comfortable size condo overall. Oversized LR furniture was comfy but made room feel a little tight, however, we're at the beach and most of the time is outside. A few places where wallpaper was torn on light switches. Unit was neither newly renovated nor was it dowdy. Beds and furniture were acceptable and not overly worn. I'll agree with other reviewers that the check-in process could be improved. The Mgt Office was friendly and efficient, but literally just handed over an envelop with keys and printed info at check-in. There's no reason to require a 30 minute trek to the office to retrieve and drop off keys. I saw several units with combination lock boxes by the door to retrieve/store keys and the same could be used for this unit. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this unit for a couple or a family with 2 children.
