Best experience of a lifetime

The house is absolutely gorgeous. The pool is amazing. The owner is very prompt in responding to messages. Kelly was so fantastic! Always had a smile on her face and willing to help with anything. Chief K cooked us so many local favorite dishes !! Can’t even pick a favorite for every dish was spectacular. We even caught a tuna and he fried it up for us !! We had the best time!! And the fresh mangos were amazing

We rented a 14-bedroom all-inclusive property for our family vacation beginning January 22, which included a chef and house maintenance staff. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.Upon arrival, the house had a strong mildew smell. The upstairs bathroom toilet would not flush, and the WiFi was not working. We immediately contacted the owner to express our concerns. Instead of resolving the issues, we were offered a different property with only 11- bedrooms.Because we were uncomfortable staying in the original home, we moved to the 9-bedroom house, which caused major inconvenience. We had to sleep 2–3 people per bed, and some family members had to sleep on couches. This was not what we paid for and significantly impacted our comfort and vacation experience.Although the rental was advertised as all-inclusive with a chef and staff, after meals were prepared, no one stayed to clean. We ended up cleaning ourselves. Additionally, we repeatedly had to request towels and fresh sheets throughout our stay. Clean towels should have been provided daily without having to ask. To make matters worse, my son found a creature in his bedroom.While the owner apologized, no meaningful solutions were provided. Overall, this was a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience, and I would not book with this property again.

"Marilyn, we've investigated the claims regarding the paint smell and cleanliness issues you've raised. Our staff and manager inspected the property, and there's no evidence of paint smell; the strawberry air freshener was used as intended. In fact, your boyfriend acknowledged it was an air freshener on check-in, and the manager showed you the source. The WiFi was working at the first villa at check-in, as the Starlink was installed and operational. Our staff cleaned the property thoroughly, and the manager did a final inspection to ensure everything was in order. The staff work from 9am to 5pm, and any mess made after 5pm is not their responsibility. Given Vrbo's policies and our conversation, no refund will be issued. You requested a $2000 refund, but the $600 calculation was for the difference in rooms - you originally booked a 14-bedroom and moved to an 11-bedroom for convenience closer to the city. Vrbo confirmed no refund is due as the change was guest-initiated. Threats of leaving 21 reviews aren't acceptable and won't change our decision. Vrbo is aware and will handle the situation. We offer discounts and refunds to honest guests, not those who threaten us. You're welcome to leave an honest review, but we've documented everything and will work with Vrbo to address any inappropriate reviews. No further discounts or refunds will be offered." Fabulous house with a beautiful view!

The house was very spacious and comfortable. The best view overlooking the mountains and ocean! The star of the entire stay was Chef Shane! Unbelievably the best variety and robust flavors in all he cooked for us! We all were so impressed with his presentation of food. He clearly cooks from his heart because you can taste the goodness in every spoonful! If it was not for Shane, Melissa and Antoinette this trip would not have been so memorable! I want to personally Thanks all 3.

Family and Friends Getaway

This house is beautiful and huge but could use upgrading. We had a lot of issues upon arrival, but the property manager worked diligently to get things corrected. There was a housekeeper, but the rooms were cleaned once, not sure what the cleaning schedule was. and maintenance or security (not sure what his title was), was present a few days out of the week. We had to visit the grocery store every 2 days b/c the refrigerator would not hold all the groceries. I recommend getting a commercial refrigerator and stove or repair the 2 stoves and ovens that are currently in the house.

Perfect for large groups

Very spacious house accommodating our large group of 22 people. Rooms are large, most with their own bathroom. Several king beds, the rest queen. Beds comfortable. House clean. Housekeeper very friendly and kept the property clean. Always asked what she could do to make our stay better. Chef made excellent food. Helpful for shopping. Breakfast was around 10 am and dinner around 7 pm unless we asked for other times. Pool initially with algae but was cleaned within a few days. Drivers - BJ and Tim- were the highlight of our stay. They were so accommodating and friendly. Helped to show us the highlights of the area. Saved us money when they could. Only negatives of the stay besides the pool being dirty initially were the WiFi was down for about a third of our stay, showers were frequently cool water(never hot), and location of being quite a ways from the beach and other activities. All in all, would definitely recommend for large groups and would stay there again.

Oracabessa Beauty!!!

I enjoyed my trip and my stay! Shane the chef was amazing and very helpful. Whatever we needed he was there right away! JJ was the best driver and guide. He gave us a lot of history lessons and was indeed the best. He never left us alone and made us feel like we were family. KerryAnn was quiet but a wonderful housekeeper! She was there daily and kept the place spotless. I felt very safe on the property.I also have to give a hot out to all the groundskeepers.They kept the property clean and cleaned the pool daily. I would recommend for large families to stay here.I enjoyed standing on the balcony and looking at the beautiful view. Jamaica is such a beautiful place. If you stay here please cherish the memories as you wont regret it.I plan on coming back one day. My family and friends had a blast. We did encounter some issues with the TV but the owner and staff are very responsive and any issues we had were addressed immediately. if you choose to stay here please tell them EVELYN said Hi !!!!!!!!

Extremely disappointing stay

I have planned my husband's 50th birthday party for the last 18months. The host was helpful and responsive in answering any questions and coordinating activities. Upon arrival the home presented well, definitely dated but well. Next morning began the snowball of issues. 2 bathrooms had serious water leaks. 2 others had minor leaks which we tolerated. There was a beehive in the pool area and a guest was stung by a wasp. The bottom level bathroom had a leak and 1 bedroom on this floor could not be used due to ceiling leak from the above floor bathroom. Air conditioner in room 7, leaked throughout our entire stay and did not have working lights on one side of the room. AC on the 3rd floor leaked intermittently throughout the stay. On the day of my husband's 50th party, all 17 guests awoke to no water or toilet that was not resolved until 4:30 pm that day an hour before the party. The host did send maintenance out for each of these issues. It took 3 days for the bathroom leak to be fully resolved. As previously mentioned the AC issues remained the entire stay. The host was responsive until I requested a review of these daily issues by the owner, I was told messages would be passed up, but no further response to questions from host. Chef aimed to please and was extremely hardworking. BJ was excellent. This could have been a 5 star vacation if this home would undergo serious maintenance. Truly disappointing

On-Site Staff Save the Day

On-site staff, Chef Herman & Housekeeper Kim, were phenomenal & saved our trip. Chef H cooks scrumptious Jamaican food & was up to any challenge, including special requests like rack of lamb & lobster. He preempted guest needs, replacing low items before asked. He navigated food scarcity on the island after recent hurricanes, getting eggs & other scarce food as often as he could. Chef H dealt with subpar equipment in his kitchen. The fridge was not consistently working, & he arranged for repairs twice, preventing any food spoilage. Chef H deserves far better working conditions for a chef of his talent. Kim greeted us on arrival, ensuring every guest found a room to their liking. When we encountered issues with the smart TVs, plumbing, A/C leaking, & more, Kim acted fast to fix things herself or arrange for repairs & usually stayed late to make sure we were good. Kim deserves far more on-site maintenance support & time between bookings to clean/prep for the size of the property.The interior of the villa is not as pictured. It was badly built & is poorly maintained by vendors. No toilet paper holders or towel racks in bathrooms; roof & A/C leaks; shoddy door handles & sliding doors; outdated kitchen appliances for chef; insufficient silverware & cups in kitchen; rooms with no closets or outlets; brittle/rotted outdoor furniture; insufficient seating throughout the villa; slippery tiles & exposed wire near pool; uncomfortable dining chairs. Listed as luxury, reality was not.

An amazing stay!

I'm so thankful to have found this property. The owner is great at making sure that every detail is covered. The entire staff was excellent! We did not have to worry about anything from private transportation (excellent driver) to our private chef ( talented young man/ delicious food) to our housekeeper (very detailed) and to top it all off, they even arranged private Covid testing in the comfort of the luxurious fully equipped home. I highly recommend this property. You won't be disappointed!

Amazing Birthday Bash

This property came with a chef, driver, and cleaning crew this was one of the best features of this property, because this team was amazing. The food was delicious and staffed was really friendly. My only real issue was the cable was out the entire stay and plumbing need a little work didn’t have hot water all the time. We share this house with 23 other guests and they all love it. My stay exceeded my expectations our chef Shane was beyond great! Our housekeeper kerry was amazing!

We had a blast at this place enough rooms for all 22 of us flew from North Carolina to celebrate my birthday everyone enjoyed them self! we had no issue we wish there was more yard space though the place was very clean and maintained every day the chef Shane and our house keeper jerry we appreciate every bit of accommodation and the warm hospitality you gave us. All my guests want to take Shane home how good the food was. Thanks Guys. I do recommend fir large groups

The Palms Retreat

The property is beautiful, communication with the manager via Vrbo is stellar, they were gracious enough to accommodate an earlier check in and place was thoroughly cleaned and very safe. However there was no running water beyond ten seconds for all bedroom on the top floor, additionally the faucet was loose and the master bedroom shower head fell on me while attempting to use. The caretaker Chevar was impossible to get to address these issues my guests and I who were on the top floor all had to use the basement bathroom. I do love the property overall and would consider revisiting if they fix the water issue.

Wonderful Stay
