We spent a wonderful couple of weeks in Frigiliana based in this spacious and well equipped property, The location was excellent with lots of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk, and the views from the patios were outstanding. Communication with the owner was great and check in through her agent Sam was seamless. The pool was a huge bonus, Being a penthouse there are a fair number of steps but this is the same for Frigiliana itself but worth bearing in mind if you have limited mobility. However we would visit here again in a heartbeat.

Lovely place

Even though there are a lot of stairs to get to the apartment they are so worth it. Lovely spacious apartment with amazing views. Would definitely recommend and definitely would like to stay here again. Thank you for renting out this place.

Great terrace

The positives are the apartment is spacious has a lovely terrace and is well placed within the beautiful village of Frigiliana. The pool is excellent and the neighbours very friendly. The negatives. There are 83 steps up to the apartment which in 37 degree heat became an issue. There are no bath towels or bath mats or shower curtain in the main bathroom. The floor rugs are dirty and the top terrace which which we booked for the views is not accessible. Also beware the patio doors on the bottom terrace. Do NOT close if outside you will be locked out. We spent a full night outside because of this! Finally the apartment is a little tired. Overall we love Frigiliana and we’re delighted to spend our holiday there.

2nd time staying in this apartment

Spacious and well equipped penthouse apartment with fantastic balcony and terrace with beautiful views over surrounding valley. This is our second visit to the property and 5th time in frigiliana. Communicating with owner Katerine is always easy and problem free.

Lovely apartment in great position

Great views and we'll positioned in the old town wit a lare choice of resstaurants and bars. Quite a few steps from the road and parking wasn't always easy. Lovely large balcony and generally more outside space that one could reasonably expect. Kitchen well equipped and large lounge with 3 large sofas. TV appears to be set up for just French channels. Our only issues were bedding and towels. The bath towels were a bit on the small side. The bottom sheet was directly on the mattress with no cover. The top sheet was a duvet cover. There was nothing other than a winter duvet to supplement it and in the autumn temperatures we would have liked a summer weight duvet or a blanket.

This is a special property

This property is in a prime location with the most fantastic views. It is spacious and extremely well equipped. We would have no hesitation in going back. The restaurants around are all very good especially The Garden Restaurant and The Mirrador. Thank you very much Katarine for letting us use your apartment. Elizabeth, Susan, Graham and Derek

Perfect location

Loved the location of the property, amazing views. Agree with previous reviews of the property. If I had any negatives at all it would be that the top terrace didn't have any useable furniture. The two chairs that were there were not in good condition. I feel it is a waste of this space not to have it furnished better. We couldn't use it, which is such a shame as the views were great.

Easy to fall in love with this place.

This is a lovely villa, set in exactly the right part of Frigiliana. The huge deck, with table, lounge chairs, and plants offers fabulous views of the mountains, the sea, and the farms and orchards in the surrounding hills. The apartment is quite spacious, light and airy, with lots of windows on three sides. The kitchen is well equipped, and the separate clothes washer is very convenient for long stays. The large living room-dining room provides several areas for conversation groups or alone-time. Our only caution is that the new frosted-glass sliding doors are very stylish, but provide only "European-level" privacy for one of the bathrooms. This area of Frigiliana was very peaceful when we were there. It seems to be far enough from the central square that day-trip tourists don’t usually venture into this part of town, although they should. Great restaurants close at hand, and very reasonably priced, as well as tiny grocery stores in the quaint narrow streets, with cobblestone and lots of flowers in bloom. La Casino and The Sacristy are excellent nearby restaurants. Be warned that there are lots of steps to get into this villa, as there are everywhere in getting around Fragiliana. This unit is effectively on the fifth floor (6th if you count like a North American) when you are loading suitcases or groceries. But we are in our sixties, and managed fine. The Wifi was spotty, especially when school was out, but worked well otherwise. We suspected that the internet provider needed more bandwidth. Overall, we much preferred Frigiliana to the more touristy Nerja, and it is only a short drive to the grocery store in Nerja or the Playa Burriana. As mentioned in a previous review, the hikes upward and along the Rio Higueron were challenging enough to make a fulfilling outing. The restaurant Bar el Acebuchel in the "hidden village" of Acebuchel is well worth the trip for a fabulous lunch. We stayed four weeks and we were not ready to leave. Still so much more to see and do.

Beautiful Penthouse in Beautiful Frigiliana

We cannot give this property and the owners enough praise for making our first holiday in Frigiliana absolutely perfect. The penthouse is just stunning. It is spacious, clean, well equipped and has all the creature-comforts you could want with a villa-style holiday. It even has a lovely communal pool that can only be accessed by the residents of the small apartment block (apex 10 units) so very peaceful. Everything was straight forward when booking so the whole process was easy and Katarine, the owner, was always on hand to answer any questions that we had before and during our stay. The outside space is large and spread over two terraces with views of the mountains and the sea so you could not wish for better scenery when having a glass of wine or Larios on the sun-loungers. There are quite a few steps to to get to the apartment but then again, there is all over Frigiliana as it on a mountain so not the best for the less-able person. However, if you love exploring then the Rio Higueron Gorge and mountain walks are not to be missed. The beaches in Nerja and the caves are also a must. The village restaurants and bars are excellent and very reasonably priced. Our favourites were El Adarve and the Sacristan in the village square but if you just want a drink then El Lagar is not to be missed. 1.2 euros for a glass of wine or 3ish euros for a large (very) glass of G&T. There is even a beer garage selling local pale ales so paradise for me! In summary, a beautiful, peaceful penthouse only seconds from the heart of stunning Frigiliana village which is ideal for couples or even a small family. Thank you Katarine for allowing us to share your amazing holiday home and we cannot wait to be back next year.
