Villa Evanthia, un lugar para estar!

Villa Evanthia es una nueva construcción - 2013 - villa con piscina privada dirigida por la familia Paraschakis y tiene muchas cosas que ofrecer. La villa está situada en un paisaje de singular belleza con buenas vistas, en una zona tranquila a tan solo dos minutos a pie de la aldea de Melidoni.
Un gran lugar para usted, el viajero distinguido, quien busca una "casa" lejos de casa!Lejos del bullicio de las zonas turísticas, pero perfectamente situado para llegar a diferentes y hermosas playas, pueblos y lugares de interés de Creta.
Cuando entras por la puerta del jardín que tiene un hermoso jardín con césped y flores de colores a su derecha ya su izquierda tiene una piscina de 40m2 rodeada de hamacas para su relajación. Mirando más hacia el jardín se verá también una zona de barbacoa y un horno de leña, ideal para cordero y patatas. También hay un aparcamiento privado y tenis de mesa para la diversión extra!
En la planta baja hay una cocina totalmente equipada, una sala de estar con chimenea, un dormitorio con dos camas individuales, un baño y un pequeño trastero. La planta baja y el espacio al aire libre (zona de la piscina, zona de barbacoa y aparcamiento) tienen acceso para minusválidos.
En la primera planta hay un dormitorio con una cama doble y un balcón. El segundo dormitorio tiene tres camas individuales y un balcón. Y el tercer dormitorio tiene una cama doble, baño completo y balcón. También hay un tercer cuarto de baño en el primer piso.
Villa Evanthia duerme entre cinco y diez personas. Esperamos que los visitantes de la Villa Evanthia no sólo se sienten cómodos pero sentir como en casa!

Outstanding and so much more than expected

Without doubt the best Villa we have ever rented and we have stayed at many over 50 years of travel. Simply a tremendous holiday Villa and the most friendly and warm hostess in Johanna. We will be returning next year!

Wonderful Villa

A fantastic Villa which is well thought out and designed. It is much more spacious than you could imagine for a property that can sleep a large group if needed. Brilliant location. Last & not least a mention goes to the host/owner Joanna who is incredibly helpful and Thoughtful. Always available if required. Definitely one of the best hosts experienced, will visit again.

Perfect relaxing holiday

This is a wonderful villa the cleanest I have ever stayed in. Everything has been thought of to cater for your every need, from the amazing pool to outdoor seating areas. Joanna the host went above and beyond to make our holiday perfect and we're very grateful - nothing was too much. I can't recommend this villa enough; walking distance to a beautiful village with an wonderful restaurant run by Katerina another lovely lady. Don't hesitate to book this holiday villa. Fantastic villa, great host

From the start the service that we received from Joanna was fantastic. We were welcomed with a delicious and satisfying hot meal, so welcome after a day of travelling. The villa was immaculate, a quiet haven away from the hustle and bustle of life, but close enough to be able to walk to tavernas and shops. The gardens and pool were well maintained and the shallows that visited to drink from the pool were a constant source of fun. We had an amazing two weeks.

Beautiful villa in lovely surroundings

The villa is excellently equipped and very clean. The villa owner is very welcoming and provided us with an excellent welcome package and supplied a cooked dinner for our first night which was delicious. She was very kind and helpful during our stay. An exceptional host! Reptisland and Melidoni caves are within walking distance, great places to visit! Also, the wooden sculpture museum, about 30 mins drive away, is a joy to see.The local supermarkets are small and don't sell meat, but there are butchers in Perama who supply good quality products. A lovely relaxing place to recharge batteries.

Excellent!

We had a great time at the Villa Evanthia. The Villa is lovely - comfortable, clean and well equipped. The garden and pool area is terrific, with plenty of seating areas to dine at, or simply take in the sun and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains. Melidoni is a small village but has a couple of restaurants and shops. There are places to visit in the area and towns such as Rethymno and beaches at Bali are not far away. Special mention to our host Joanna. Her warm, generous hospitality was greatly appreciated. From a well stocked fridge on arrival; the delicious desserts and cake through the week, to the advice and recommendations on places to visit made us feel well looked after.

Wonderful villa

From the moment we arrived in Crete, we felt welcomed by Joanna. She asked us to keep her updated about the timing of our journey from the airport and was at the villa to welcome us with the keys and had supplied us with enough food to see us well into the next day, including a delicious evening meal. The villa is clean, spacious and had everything we could have thought we might need, including fresh herbs in the garden (and by the road up the hill), and bath and pool towels. We had a wonderful 2 weeks in the villa, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and exploring parts of Crete. Joanna was a wonderful host and was always available to answer queries. Thank you for a very memorable and happy holiday. We hope to return sometime in the future.

A very peaceful mountain view setting, 5mins stroll to the local village/Taverna & shops.

The property was very clean, comfortable and very well stocked. Bath towels and pool towels were provided. Joanna was a fabulous host. She made a big pasta cook pot on our arrival, left some lovely home bicuits and stocked the fridge with basic necessities. The Villa has a lovely clean pool, bbq area, 3 bicycles, and a ping pong table, which we had lots of fun with! The Villa is just a 5 mins walk or so to a small local village, where there is a fabulous Taverna. There are a few shops there for necessities and gifts. The location is very peaceful and ideal to explore Crete and it's beaches...so I would definately recommend a car! The Host Joanna was very kind and during the week dropped in home made treats! We all had a lovely stay (2 adults, 3 children, ages 10/15 & 16) We would totally recommend Villa Evanthia! Aug 2023

A perfect holiday

Our family (2 adults and 3 children) visited Villa Evanthia in summer 2017 for 2 weeks. The outstanding care by the owner Joanna is by no means comparable. On arrival (on a Sunday) she warmly welcomed us and had the fridge filled and a great casserole prepared. So a warm welcome we have never experienced anywhere else. In the next few days, she was always very concerned about our well-being. A broken sun screen was repaired the following day and during her visit she brought times biscuits times cake with. When our son injured so much, so we had to go to a hospital in the inner city of Rethymno (about 1h away), she drove us there, translated and accompanied us caringly. This is not a matter of course, and showed what kind of hearty person Joanna is. The house is to say that everything is available, which makes the holiday heart beat faster. A very clean and well maintained house with nice outside and large pool with sunbeds and umbrellas, barbecue, table tennis etc. Interior spacious rooms with air conditioning and a nice large kitchen which is fully equipped. Once a week the room and pool were thoroughly cleaned and the towels exchanged. We can recommend a vacation in the Villa Evanthia unreservedly. Many thanks Joanna for the great holiday!

Fabulous!

Firstly I can not tell you how wonderful the Villa Evanthia host Joanna is! She made sure that we had all the information we needed even down to preparing a meal on our first night so we didn't have to worry! Can't tell you how brilliant she was. The property is treated like her home which means you have everything you need to enjoy your time here. I don't think I've stayed in a better equipped place to be quite honest! All the rooms are a great size, lots of storage to put your stuff away and excellent air-conditioning. The property was spotless and cleaned half way through the week. Bath and pool towels made available. The house is located next to a small local village - if you want a sense of what it is really like to live in Crete then look no further! The sunsets over the hills were magic and the peace and quite perfect for enjoying just hanging out and being in the pool even into the evenings just a joy. Haven't slept so well in ages. And the little corner shop selling everything including mini divine ice-creams means you wish for nothing. Everyone was welcoming and warm down to the owner of the small petrol station who kept stopping us to give us sweets and ice-creams on route. Bali beaches are a short drive away and you have a choice of 4 - Joanna recommended 2 & 4 which were great. Beach 2 has a fab bouncie water float thing that kept the kids busy and exhausted all day and the burger at the beach bar on the right is recommended by my husband. With beach 4 the last one having a wonderful beach restaurant and lots of places to swim to. Don't bother buying an umbrella - just rent a beach chair and one for a few euros and spend the time soaking up the sun and relaxing. We went into Panormos for dinner - our favourite was Taverna O Makns - which I hope I'm spelling correctly. It's the last one down the side street. Fab food - you go into the kitchen and have a look rather than pick from a menu. As to things to do - we loved Rethimno - lovely old town to walk around. Knossos is of course a must - but I would seriously recommend a guided tour to bring it to life - it is amazing but you don't fully appreciate it until someone tells you what you are looking at. The caves near the house as well as Joanna's family olive oil business are also two must do's if you stay. I can't recommend this place enough if you want to come, relax, enjoy and feel part of the real crete. We would go back in a second. Thank you Joanna!

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in diesem traumhaft schönen Ferienhaus! Die Unterkunft ist mit so viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, sehr gepflegt und bietet alles, was man für eine erholsame Zeit braucht. Die Gastgeberin war unglaublich herzlich, aufmerksam und jederzeit für uns da. Sie ist auf all unsere Wünsche eingegangen und hat kleine Anliegen sofort gelöst – so fühlt man sich wirklich willkommen.Wir haben uns von der ersten Minute an wie zu Hause gefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder. Absolute Empfehlung!

Sehr schöne Villa mit einem großen Pool und einen tollen Ausblick. Es war alles sehr sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Joanna war die beste Gastgeberin, die wir bisher hatten. Sie hat uns mit leckerem Essen verwöhnt und der Kühlschrank war bei Anreise gefüllt. Unbedingt das Olivenöl der Familie probieren. Bei Fragen war sie immer erreichbar. Wir können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Wir kommen bestimmt noch mal wieder!!

Villa Evanthea trip May '25

This was our first trip abroad with our children (10 & 15yrs), and having never booked holidays using Vbro I was very nervous about what to expect.I had absolutely no need for concern, as Villa Evanthea was exactly as described, and more!!! Immaculately peesented, with a much welcomed basic shop of bread, milk and fruit on our arrival.Joanna the owner is the most amazing host you could ask for. She pooped round with a family sized Cretan pork casserole on our 1st night, with waa so lovely. She was always available to offer advise, and was so welcoming and friendly.The villa us set in beautiful mountains, with Melidoni cave a short car ride away ( or walk if you're up to it). 200m away is the Reptile Centre which is well worth a visit, along with the Honey Museum and Joanna's family olive oil factory.We will definitely be back!!!

Wir waren für 10 Nächte zu Gast in der Villa Evanthia und haben es sehr genossen. Joanna ist eine wundervolle Gastgeberin, die uns mit Essen empfangen hat und stets zu erreichen war, wenn wir Fragen hatten. Die Villa ist entsprechend den Fotos eingerichtet, der Pool ist super und die Küche vollständig ausgestattet. Besonders zu empfehlen ist auch das Olivenöl, das Joanna und ihre Familie herstellen. Vielen Dank für einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt!

***** fünf Sterne Villa & Gastgeberin in Melidoni

Wir, vier Erwachsene und fünf Kinder, haben sehr schöne zwei Wochen Sommerferien in der Villa Evanthia verbracht. Die Villa ist sehr gut ausgestattet, sehr sauber und gepflegt. Joanna ist eine ganz tolle Gastgeberin, die sich um alles kümmert, wenn gewünscht. Wir bekamen zu unserer mittäglichen Anreise eine große Auflaufform Pastitsio, der Kühlschrank war mit ein paar Startgetränken gefüllt, Obst und Gemüse war auch vorhanden. Während das Urlaubes kamen noch Chorta, selbstgemachte Holzkohle und ein Kuchen dazu. Melidoni bietet fußläufig eine super Taverne direkt auf dem Hauptplatz und zwei Minimärkte für das Alltägliche. Reptisland, Tankstelle sind einen Steinwurf entfernt. Höhle, Olivenölfabrik, Honigmuseum auch fußläufig oder keine fünf Minuten mit dem Auto. Schöne Strände sind in 15-25 Min. Fahrzeit zu erreichen. Alles in allem ein ganz toller Urlaub. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Hier kann man nur die volle und beste Bewertung geben, alles war perfekt. Am Tag der Anreise wurde uns ein Abendessen serviert, damit wir in Ruhe ankommen konnten und am Wochenende wurde uns Kuchen gebracht. Die Betreuung durch den Vermieter war angenehm dezent und sehr, sehr herzlich. Es wurde sich um alles gekümmert, das Haus und das Anwesen sind sehr sauber und sehr ansprechend. Alles in Allem blieb kein Wunsch offen. Die Lage am Dorfrand ist perfekt, man kann in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß in eine sehr gute und authentisch griechische Taverne zum essen oder zum einkaufen gehen, ansonsten ist aufgrund der Lage für Ausflüge, Stranderlebnis usw. ein Auto sehr zu empfehlen. Wir bedanken uns für einen wunderschönen Urlaub in Ihrem Haus, die herzliche Betreuung und empfehlen Sie sehr gerne weiter! Familien Vogt und Oswald

A wonderful stay

From the moment you land, Joanna is the best host you could ever ask for. She was there to greet us and welcome us to Crete and Villa Evanthia. Her hospitality and friendliness are second to none, even going as far as making and bringing us dinner on the first night and cakes during the week. The fridge was stocked with everything you could need for your first day or two and more. The villa was so well equipped, there was nothing we needed that we couldn't find in the kitchen. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The bedrooms were great, air conditioning worked well throughout. Wifi occasionally dropped out but totally to be expected. We bought a Fire Stick for the TV from the UK but didn't use much. The main attraction is the outside area and the pool. I could just gaze at it all day. The garden was beautiful and lit up like a Christmas tree at night which was awesome. The stunning surrounding mountains and views I miss more each day. The village is a lovely stroll away and has a couple of well stocked supermarkets and restaurants although we did mostly go to Lidl at Rethymno (25 mins away by car) and the old town there in the evening or Bali (15 mins by car). We visited inland (a gorge and villages) as well as the coast. Melidoni caves are just up the road and worth a visit, as is Joanna's family's olive oil factory which is fascinating and she will happily show you around. They are such a hard working family. If we had to find any type of criticism, it might be that the bushes in the garden could do with being a little higher to give that added privacy from the road which although only a small road, was the main route to the caves and therefore you sometimes get a coach, quad bikes or tourist train trundle past in high season. Location was a little too far to visit Chania or the beaches of Balos or Elafonisi for us but you could do it. We will just make the excuse to come back to Crete again! Loved our stay and will never forget Joanna and her family. Be sure if you stay here to feed the beautiful cat who visits daily with her petite little squeak for food, nicknamed Thea by us (I suspect she may have a home but she likes the attention!). I had read about and been told about the Cretan hospitality and friendliness but its hard to believe its true until you experience it for yourself. It really is and its wonderful. Superbe maison avec tout le confort un accueil extra un village typique tout le monde est super gentil nous avons passé de merveilleuses vacances. Joanna nous a préparé le repas le jour de l’arrivée des gâteaux dans la semaine, nous a guidé dans le village, je recommande vivement

Perfect holiday retreat

Absolutely wonderful villa. Can't fault it. The photos don't do it justice. Lovely peaceful location and views across the olive groves to snow capped mountains. The house is well equipped and spotlessly clean. Joanna was a perfect host greeting us with a home cooked meal as well as Easter treats throughout the week. Good central location within easy reach of North Coast towns and beaches, mountains, Knossos and the beautiful south coast. Didn't want to come home!

What a lovely place to stay-home from home

Truly amazing villa. Even better because of the hospitality shown to us by Joanna and her family. She has thought of everything to make it a home from home and still manages to find ways to add personal touches (from a welcome food hamper and evening meal on arrival to olive oil and raki on depature). She is truly skilled in the art of hosting guests and philoxenia (friend to the stranger). Only one change I would make, a mattress topper for those who like me, struggle with a bad back and then can opt for a less firm mattress. I would not hesitate in recommending the villa or Joanna's rental services. Thank you for creating and amazing place to create amazing memories.

Schöne Villa im historischen Ort

Die Villa ist modern eingerichtet, alles notwendige ist vorhanden und funktioniert einwandfrei. Die Vermieterin ist sehr zuvorkommend, das fängt damit an, dass zur Begrüßung bereits Grundnahrungsmittel, ein Ortskorb und eine erste Mahlzeit (Stifado = klassischer griechscher Rindfleisch-Eintopf) gestellt werden. Um das Objekt herum sind direkt keine weiteren Häuser, sodass man nicht durch Lärm gestört wird, allerdings liegt das Haus an der Straße, die zur Melidoni-Cave führt, die tagsüber ein geringes Aufkommen an touristischem Verkehr hat (Privat-PKW, hin und wieder ein Bus, Ausflugs"bahn" aus Rethymno). Der Ort selbst bietet 2 kleine Supermärkte und Restaurants. Das Objekt ist auf alle Fälle empfehlenswert. Insgesamt ist das Objekt

Wunderschönes Haus in ruhiger Umgebung

Wir haben in Ioannas Ferienhaus zwei wunderschöne Wochen mit unseren drei Kindern auf Kreta verbracht. Das Haus und der Garten lädt zum Verweilen ein. Die Raumaufteilung und Ausstattung ist ideal für größere Gruppen oder Familien. Nicht wenige Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Restaurants und Minimarkets gibt es ebenfalls vor Ort. Sowohl für die Anreise als auch zum Erkunden der Insel benötigt man einen Mietwagen. Absolut außergewöhnlich ist die Gastlichkeit, Hilfsbereitschaft und Herzlichkeit von Ioanna, die das übliche Maß bei weitem überschreitet. Das haben wir bei unseren vergangenen Reisen in dieser Art noch nie erfahren dürfen.

Spotless, well equipped, great location

A lovely location surrounded by mountain views. The villa had everything we needed and was beautifully clean. Joanna was a welcoming host and greeted us with a delicious home cooked meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. The check in could be improved with a self service key safe, but we had fantastic communication from the host and she extremely helpful in organizing covid related appointments. Melidoni has 2 well stocked shops and 2 restaurants, there is a little park for children and Repiland and Melidoni cave are both worth a visit. The villa is 15 minutes from Bali which has an array of beaches and 1.5 hours from the south coast which has more rugged less touristic beaches. A wonderful, relaxing family holiday and we would definitely recommend it!

I am Joanna,the owner of Villa Evanthia and I have lived in Melidoni for the last twenty-five years.I was born and raised in the United States,we are actually a cocktail family.My father was from Melidoni and my mother is from Massachusettes.In 1990 we moved back to my father's roots.In 1998 I met my husband Manolis and started working with him at The Paraschakis family olive oil factory.In 2004 we decided to open our doors to the public and since then we have many visitors every summer to see the three different generations of olive oil production.In the year 2013 we built villa Evanthia and we really want to make all our guests not only feel comfortable but to feel at home!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The land that Villa Evanthia is built on belonged to my husband's grandmother and her name was Evanthia,so I thought that it was a great idea to name the villa after her.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

I love Villa Evanthia because there is so much space in all the bedrooms and there are alot of windows,so you always have the light from the warm Cretan sun in the house.The kitchen is a great place to prepare a meal for the family,also very spacious.The atmosphere is very down to Earth,when you walk in the front door you feel at home.
