Thanks for taking the time to review the property.we are always open to constructive criticism . Construction noise is forbidden in residential areas during July and August. After your departure, the owner visited the site and has emailed the local authorities do that it doesn’t happen again The billiard table has been rectified to make it flat again. Just before your visit a group of young ladies moved the table to use the room as a dance floor . It’s true that a second dishwasher would be a bonus but unfortunately we would have to redesign the entire kitchen. We have never felt the need for a dryer. We are lucky enough to have plenty of sunshine and there is a drying frame in the utility room. Thanks again for your comments. They help us to keep up standards and satisfy our guests. Kind regards

Thanks for taking the time to review Villa Venus. In view of your comments, I would like to address this point by point. The pool did have a small leak but we had to make a decision as to wether we should empty the pool to repair the leak or top it up. I am pretty sure that with 6 children in your party, you would not have appreciated finding an empty pool on arrival. It is correct that linen and electricity are not included in the price. It seems unfair to us that a group of 4 should pay the same price as a group of 20 so linen is charged per occupant. Before accepting any reservation request, I ALWAYS ask if the traveller has read and understood our conditions concerning linen and electricity. Your reply 1st March, via the website before I accepted the booking was as follows: "Hi Sally, Yes, understood about electricity and sheets/Towels. Presumably I should bring cash on arrival rather than a card payment for sheets/Towels? TC" The cost of electricity is not random. A meter reading is taken on arrival (your brother in law signed it)and on departure and is calculated using the tarif applied by the electricity provider. By charging for electricity, our guests are more careful as some simply don't care and leave the AC on all day with the doors and windows open. I fully understand that being burgled put a severe damper on your holiday. As we stated several times when we visited and on departure, we are really sorry that this happened to you. Unfortunately, tourist areas such as Cannes, attract some dishonest people. Your brother in law was shown the safe hidden in the house and was given the keys on arrival. As you say yourself, many doors and windows were not locked and the burglars just came in and helped themselves. BTW, the "knack" to locking the windows is as in most properties these days, to simply lift the door handle and turn the key at the same time. To say that I was "'unhelpful" after the burglary is what hurts the most. When you woke and discovered the burglary you called me (around 10am on the Sunday morning if my memory is correct) I gave you the telephone number of the local police. You came back to me saying that you had a language problem as your French was not up to it. I immediately called them myself. I was told that a Police patrole would call at the house in the next 30 minutes. To avoid any language problem, my colleague and I immediately drove to the villa to be present when the police arrived. The police were very ponctual and as it happened, one policeman spoke fluent English so there was no misunderstanding. As for the bedrooms, the description of the villa details each bedroom, yes there are stairs to 3 of the 7 bedrooms but I honestly don't find them particularly steep. Of course, guests with young children would need to take care as I am sure they do in their own homes.. The bedrooms under the terrace are far from dingy. I was at the villa yesterday and the sun was streaming through the 2m patio windows. Unfortunately the website does not offer the possibility of adding a photo. I sincerely hope that in spite of all your comments, your family will have fond memories of the positive moments of your holiday.
