Construidas recientemente en julio de 2019, las cabañas de The Lazy Buffalo están oficialmente abiertas.

Capacidad para 14 personas, incluye 4 cabañas temáticas para capturar la esencia de las montañas Wichita. Cada cabina tiene un paseo en ducha de azulejos. Madera de granero, pino nudoso y estaño corrugado se utilizan en cada una de las espaciosas cabañas. Los pisos de concreto manchado oscuro y los techos de estaño realmente agregan un ambiente rústico pero elegante. Disfrute de la puesta de sol desde el porche cubierto mientras se relaja en las mecedoras de madera. También estamos entusiasmados con nuestra nueva área de pabellón adicional con una mesa de picnic y parrilla de carbón.

The Lazy Buffalo was certainly unique in its decor of the Refuge and bison (buffalo). It had some fine Western art pieces, books, and everything buffalo. It added to the fun and relaxation of a very satisfactory experience. It was convenient to the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge.

Although we were in town for a funeral, the host and property made us feel welcomed. From allowing us to enter the property early to a last minute rental of their venie space for a gathering of family after the funeral- they went above and beyond! Thank you so much and God bless

Christmas to remember

We rented the 5 rooms at lazy buffalo, plus the bunk house with kitchen and meeting room. The decor and atmosphere inside and out are so well thought out and genuine. This place more than met our needs for a family Christmas to remember!

Weekend in Wichita Mts

Really cute and comfy. Owners very nice and accomodating. We had all 4 rooms to ourselves so kids loved being let loose. Would definitely recommend for family trip to Wichita Mts and Medicine Park area.

Family time

Sibling, spouses and parents trip. We rented 4 rooms for 8 people over Memorial day weekend and had a great time. Lots of memories were made around the fire pit and picnic table. The property was so much fun.

Family Thanksmas

We had a group ranging from 1 to 62. The rooms were nice and quiet. The kids had fun with all the games around the place. We roasted marshmallows around the fire pit and cooked out burgers. We also rented the venue to have our Christmas. The only thing I would have changed was warmer weather. It was kind of cold to hang outside.

Great Property, even better hosts!

We had a group of 14 stay for four nights here. This was our first time in this location and we can’t wait to come back. The property is beautiful, clean, and has everything you need. Great location off the highway, close to Medicine Park and Lawton. The cabins are wonderful and worth a visit anytime you are in the area. The owners are fantastic and so hospitable. They were very responsive and went above and beyond for our group. Thank you Larry and Julie!

Fun place to stay

The cabins we're clean and creativity decorated in rustic charm. It is close to the Wichita Wildlife refuge, and about a 15 minute drive from Lawton. The porch with chairs were welcome since it was a family reunion. The only problem we had was the faucets were hard to turn off completely in the sink. The refuge has amazing hikes, and Medicine Park nearby is a fun place to visit. The plantation restaurant on Medicine Park was out favorite eatery, but Lil Mama in Cahe is a great place for breakfast.

Hiking Vacation

Our family rented 5 of the approximately 12 cabins on site. The 5 cabins worked out great, but we didn't realize that we'd be sharing the property with several other families. But we didn't realize that there were any cabins on site besides the 5 we had rented. We thought that we were renting the entire property! The other families had lots of small children that were misbehaving and the parents dealt with this by yelling at them while they monopolized the common shared areas (fire pit and grill). We really couldn't enjoy these areas for several days and felt we had been betrayed. Seven people from our family had carefully reviewed the online photos and descriptions and picked this property from several other finalists. None of us had any idea that there were any other cabins on the property until we pulled into the parking lot! We thought we were renting the entire property. Everything else worked as advertised, but we certainly would have made a different choice with our money if we had realized what we were really getting.

Amazing

Our Girl Scout troop came and stayed for the weekend we had seven adults and seven kids it was absolutely amazing the girls had so much fun. The property was nice and had everything we needed right there. Super close to Medicine Park, was able to go and see buffaloes and go into town. Would definitely recommend this property.

Perfect Getaway

These 5 separate cabins were perfect for my family! They were nicely decorated and clean! We had the perfect amount of space for everyone. The fire pit area was nice and had all we needed. The grass area was great for the kiddos to play with their slip n slide and pool! The communication between us and the owners was always easy. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful place with us, we will be back!

Great relaxing weekend

We had a group of 14, so we rented all five units. Everyone had plenty of room, and really enjoyed the stay. We loved sitting on the porch in the evenings enjoying the sunsets in the rocking chairs.

We have lived in Southwest Oklahoma for over 60 years and love our hometown of Cache. The Wichita Mountains are right in our backyard, and we get to enjoy their beauty every day.

In 2019, The Lazy Buffalo opened with 5 vacation rental Cabins. These Cabins were designed to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown. In 2021, the Venue with Bunkhouse opened, and we carried over the same western vibe when designing the 2400 square foot space. Throughout 2022 and 2023, we opened 6 more Cabins and in late 2023 our first set of pet friendly Cabins opened.

Conveniently connected by sidewalks, it's just a short stroll being the bunkhouse, our Cabins, and 24 hour guest laundry. All together, we can accommodate up to 49 guests among the 13 Cabins and Bunkhouse.

We are blessed to be family owned and managed. Our favorite thing about hosting is seeing multi-generation Families gathered around sharing quality time together. Should you need anything, our home is only 2 blocks from the Cabins. We hope you make wonderful memories while being our guest at The Lazy Buffalo.

Southwest Oklahoma is rich with History and offers endless things to do and discover.

CACHE - our hometown
Dine in at a local cafe or order fast food to enjoy at our outdoor pavilion. Wahlburgers, the first one on Oklahoma is located just across the highway inside the casino. This burger restaurant is family friendly.

The Cache City Park has a Pickleball Court with lights. Kids will enjoy the splash pad (open Summer) & playground equipment. The park features a paved trail and has kids bikes available for use.

For those that like to hit the slots, the Comanche Cache Casino is now open and has over 300 games. Casino is ages 18 and up and is non-smoking.

For history enthusiasts, Quanah Parker’s Star House is nearby. The two story home is known for its distinctive wraparound porch with large white stars adoring the roof. Many tales of the famous outlaws Belle Starr and Jesse James were rumored to have roamed our area. Will you be the one to find their hidden loot?

WICHITA MOUNTAINS WILDLIFE REFUGE – 3 miles
The Wildlife refuge spans 59000 acres and home to free range buffalo, longhorn cattle, and other species. Stop at the Visitor Center for a wealth of information on all the Refuge attractions including the Holy City, Quanah Parker Lake, parallel forest, forty-foot hole, and Charon’s garden trail.

MEERS & MEDICINE PARK – less than 15 miles
Take a scenic drive to Meers, a town known for its gold rush days. America’s cobblestone community, Medicine Park, is just past Mount Scott.

LAWTON - 10 to 20 minutes
Lawton is a bigger city and has activities such as casinos, iMax Movie Theater, shopping, and restaurants. Walmart, Academy, and Target are a short drive up the highway.

FORT SILL – 20 minutes
Fort Sill is the last remaining active military post that was built during the Indian war and is home to the US Army's Field Artillery. The prominent Native American leader of the Chiricahua Apache, Geronimo, is buried at the Fort Sill Cemetery.
