Espectacular ubicación, frente al río, en medio de uno de los tramos más bellos de agua blanca en California - pequeñas playas tranquilas a lo largo del río. Muy cerca de Pinecrest y Dodge Ridge. Fresa con el Tenedor sur del río Stanislaus que lo atraviesa y su gran pradera es una joya verdaderamente idílico. Overlook es muy privado con el río en frente y los bosques en los dos lados. Está bien equipado y fue totalmente remodelado en 2004. Todas las comodidades pero cabina de estar. Con Overlook lo tiene todo: belleza natural, aguas bravas, privacidad, confort, en cualquier época del año.

We've stayed at this Overlook cabin several times and it is always perfect. Brought our entire family (3 teenagers, parents, grandparents, and uncle) and everyone had a comfortable bed and plenty of space to hang out. The kitchen was perfect for our group. The trails/roads right outside our doorstep were amazing. Will definitely try to book it again.

Wow! We are local so didn’t travel far but had a very peaceful beautiful time at Overlook. We walked to the Strawberry inn and walked along the river. The downstairs poker table was a hit with my family and 20/23 year olds. It was very quiet except for very beautiful rooster next door which we loved!

The cabin was very clean and perfect for our group. The kids loved the downstairs room with the ping pong table, while the adults enjoyed hanging out on the upstairs deck. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, and the beds were comfortable. The view from the deck was beautiful, and hearing the river below made the stay even more relaxing. There was plenty of parking, and the cabin had a cozy feel that made us feel right at home. Dennis was quick to respond whenever we had a question, and the check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we would definitely come back!

Very nice spot. Comfortable rooms, well stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture. The kitchen was a little dark, and could use better lighting. Nice place to use as basecamp for exploring HiWay 108 corridor.

This trip was a return to Overlook for us and it was all that we remembered. Beautiful and quiet location. Spacious and comfortable cabin. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

No essentials provided & Unclean & No privacy

Upon arrival, we found there were no sheets on beds, no towels, and no toiletries in bathrooms. After searching cabinets, we found some worn-out towels and overused blankets—some of which were dirty. I spent the entire evening doing laundry and setting up beds. There was no shampoo or body wash. Lacking of items that are inexpensive yet essential for guests caused significant inconvenience, especially in a rural area. This is the first time in 20 years we encountered a situation like asking renters to bring everything. Since this is NOT standard practice, it should be CLEARLY outlined on the VRBO listing and communicated very WELL to renters.As no comforters were provided, we tried to rely on the heating system, but the cabin's heating was uneven. My son experienced a nosebleed due to the high temperature in the living room, but it was still cold in the bedrooms so that we had to rely on multiple blankets, some of which had black mold-like spots that could not be washed out.Lack of blinds on most windows and all exterior doors posed privacy issues. The cabin’s location on a slope makes it easy for anyone outside to look in. We had to turn off the lights while showering or going to bed to ensure privacy.After I shared my concerns with the host, but the response was disappointing. Rather than addressing the issues constructively, we got retaliatory and unwarranted accusations. I hope this feedback helps address these issues and leads to improvements for future renters.

White Christmas

From the moment we opened the front door, we were amazed at the view. The snow on the trees and running water of the river below made it picture perfect! The common area was cozy, and the home was large enough for us to also spread out. The game room was a lot of fun! We enjoyed spirited poker games, ping pong and pool! We will definitely be back! Family Vacation

We absolutely love the Overlook cabin. It’s nestled into a very quiet court on the Stanislaus river. There are so many things to do in the area. We enjoyed the lake, hiking, fishing, river walks, and having a beautiful place to relax in. The overlook had all of the amenities we needed. Sitting on the deck in the early mornings watching the sun come up over the river, priceless.

Big and beautiful

We love this house and its location near Pinecrest lake. It’s large living and kitchen area are very nice. Well kept up and nicely situated among sugar pine and cedar trees overlooking the river.

Wonderful Stay!

Dennis' cabin is amazing! Super clean, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen. The kids had a great time playing pool and walking down to the river. We'd definitely stay again.

Overlook!!!

This is a truly beautiful cabin set just above the Stanislaus River. The setting is gorgeous and the cabin was perfect for our family. The pine wood paneling is beautifully done with loads of natural light and huge windows to take in the natural beauty that surrounds this gem. Dennis was easy to communicate with. A stones throw from the mountain for skiing with easy access making for long enjoyable days on the slopes. We will definitely be back. We’ve stayed a number of places in the area over the years for winter ski trips and The Overlook is by far our fav. Thanks so much for a memorable week! Can’t wait to return!!!

Birthday Weekend

We had another wonderful trip at the Overlook. This is at least the fourth time that we have stayed there and it is always wonderful. We did lose power for a few hours on Saturday morning, but made the best of it:). Be back in July.:). Thanks Dennis

We love staying at Overlook. This is the second year we have visited, to this the Overlook, and plan to continue more years in the future. Listen to the River

My husband, adult daughter and I had a wonderful 3-night stay at Overlook Cabin. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The absolute highlight of this cabin is its location, perched above the beautiful south fork of the Stanislaus River. We could scramble down to the river’s edge and take a lovely stroll through the forest, right from the door of the cabin. We hated to leave. Highly recommended!

Beautiful setting

Great property, privacy yet close to stream,lake and stores.Had 2 days where upstairs gas range would not lite up.Cleaning people where very late.We didnt get in until 5 pm but they were very nice and did a good job with the cleaning.It was a very peaceful stay,loved the sound of the river nearby.
