Gran Encanto Bay Head Beach House

Celebre el verano en esta única, histórica casa de Jersey Shore. Esta propiedad es ideal para familias y amigos que buscan el estrés proximidad gratuito a la playa con un montón de espacio y encanto dentro y por fuera. Situado en la calle de la playa vigilada, los niños pasan sus días montando las olas bajo la vigilancia de nuestros guardias de la vida muy amable mientras se relaja con los pies en la arena y la bebida fría en la mano.
Ubicado a tiro de piedra de la fabulosa panadería Mueller's de Bay Head, los visitantes pueden caminar o andar en bicicleta a las tiendas locales a solo una cuadra de distancia. Ideal para los niños que les encanta jugar al escondite, a los adultos que disfrutan de bebidas refrescantes en uno de los porches, y a los adolescentes que incluso pueden dejar sus teléfonos para disfrutar de una ronda o dos de ping-pong.
La cocina grande, luminosa, totalmente equipada, de estilo familiar, cuenta con una gran área para comer y un centro de preparación en la isla para picar, charlar y servir comidas rápidas y bocadillos para niños de todas las edades.
Disfrutamos del desayuno en el porche este mientras el sol se levanta y las cenas en el gran porche principal a la sombra, aunque el comedor y la cocina tienen más de 10 asientos. Siéntase libre de configurar croquet o bádminton en el patio. También hay un montón de espacio para un buen juego de etiqueta. La ducha al aire libre es un elemento básico de la casa de campo clásico de la costa.

Perfect spot

Our family truly enjoyed the property. It was the classic, relaxed beach getaway. The home has everything you could need and ample space for large families. We look forward to going back!

Location Location Location

We were new to Bay Head but have been renting on Jersey Shore for 15 years. The property location was amazing. Listening to the Ocean while the windows were open was such a treat. Walking to resturants and shops was also a bonus! We stayed with all 5 siblings and their kids. Everyone loved the house. It is older house with lots of charm and history but you won’t find too many modern amenities/features. We appreciated that part and the owner was very clear on that before we booked.

Incredible family beach house with lots of charm!

This is an incredible rambling beach house that you just don't find any more. Tons of charm, all of the amenities just across the street from the beach! We walked to the bakery, surf shop and cute shops that were just around the corner. We enjoyed the boardwalk just a few towns away. The house had tons of room to fit family and friends and was stocked with everything we could think of. Great big kitchen for group meals. Nice shady yard in the back for kids to play. Our hosts were amazing, checked in often and were so easy to work with. Will definitely be back!

The Epitomy of Bay Head

We have owned and rented homes in Bay Head for nearly 20 years and after two weeks at this home we have found the crown jewel. This home is everything one could want or expect from a historic Old Bay Header beach home. Location is tremendous!! Our party consisted on 13 people and four families. Ages ranged from 8 to 88. Everyone had a blast. The porch is just divine!! Thank you again for one of the best Bay Head Vacations!!

A WONDERFUL FAMILY GATHERING PLACE

I want to thank you so much for the use of your wonderful house. It was so much like our old Bay Head house it was eerie. My family and I raised three generations there and we consider it our home town. I loved hearing the sound of the surf all night, the old train whistle in the middle of the night and the fire whistle directing the volunteers to a fire. I loved the squeaks of the stairs as we tried in vain to sneak down in the morning without waking others. You are so well stocked with refrigerators, beach chairs, easy beach access, outdoor and indoor games, grills, crabbing equipment, a large yard for the kids to play, a wonderful swing/slide set and of course the delightful ping pong room! It was a glorious gathering and a proper memorial to our 93 old Matriarch who died in March. Thanks so much. PS Your note to looters is hilarious.

Charming and relaxing blend of old and new.

This house and it's host is what you wish your vacation experience would be but seldom is. The owners take exceptional care of all that's old and have made quality upgrades where it counts. The appliances were all there and all working and the new central air worked like a charm on our one warm day. All other days were open windows, ocean breezes and sunny skies. The joy in this house is something you can just sense. It's big enough for the whole family, but super comfy with plenty of private spaces, nooks and crannies. And if you happen to love your morning shower, wow what great water pressure! Can't recommend this stay enough. Swimming at dawn and walking at sunset, this one really was a "memory maker".

Perfect Bay Head summer home!

This is a great home for families-terrific kitchen, lots of gathering spaces, lovely front porch with tons of bedrooms. There is central air on first floor and units in many bedrooms. The house is a classic old home a stones throw from the beach and a few more steps to the bakery! We had a fabulous time!

Wonderful Vacation Spot

Wow! What a magnificent spacious home. You can feel the memories run through this historic house overlooking the beach. My husband and I spent some anniversary time here this May. Our bedroom overlooked the beach and the ocean. We literally opened our eyes in the morning to check out the surf. We had fun exploring all the rooms and the basement that used to serve as changing rooms. We found this to be the perfect compliment of modern amenities (internet, showers, great kitchen) with historic charm. In the evenings we played ping-pong in a wonderful second floor room while listening to the ocean waves. In the mornings we walked 100 feet to the beach to play in the surf, walk the beaches. We brought our bikes and used them to explore the surrounding area, the harbor and the nature reserve. Plenty of good eating right up Bridge Ave.. Had it rained more, we planned to go to the boat and car museum. On the way home we started making plans for a large family reunion. If you love the beach this is an awesome easy house for beaching it and having fun.

Original Bay Head Charm, the "Real Deal" Beach House

If your looking for an authentic Bay Head beach experience then this is your spot. Charm and character best describe the style of this home with details that have lasted over time. Choosing to visit Bay Head is for it's historical factor and this home echoes that. The vintage charm created the atmosphere we were looking for. I found the appliances in working order, the property neat and tidy and plenty of space for all of our family. The handle on the dishwasher was a problem, but the unit worked fine regardless. Arriving a day ahead than the rest, I spent the night, alone, a woman, in this home and the energy was wonderful. The neighbors were friendly and I enjoyed watching people run, bike and walk their dogs down East Avenue. This stay reminded us of our visit to Martha's Vinyard but on the Jersey Shore! We definitely intend to return and love the proximity to both the ocean and the quaint shops in town.

Amazing location, but that's about all

This home is in an ideal location--literally across the street from the beach. The porches surrounding the first and second floor offered nice, cooling ocean breezes day and night. The play set in the backyard was well-constructed and provided entertainment for the toddlers who were part of our group. Old family photos throughout the house illustrate the history of this large home. The homeowner takes a lot of personal pride in this home and devotes a lot of personal effort to its upkeep. However..., If you like antiques and a classic beach house with "character," you'll love this house. If you prefer newer beds to support your back, quiet floorboards, showers (instead of claw foot tubs), and other modern conveniences (such as central air conditioning), you should look somewhere else. When we first viewed the website in March 2012, it indicated that there was one King bed and four queen beds. Upon arrival, we realized that it's really three queen beds (no King) and two full-sized beds. Our 6'5" nephew was not pleased! Our teenagers were freaked out by the unfinished storage basement, and a man walking by on the street asked us if we liked staying in the haunted house, and then he laughed at us, shaking his head. Several floor fans were provided to take the sting out of a few 90+ degree days, but central air would have really helped. This house is priced appropriately for the location and the block on which it resides. However, it has not been updated in a very, very long time, which must be to the chagrin of the neighbors, whose homes have all been immaculately updated. We arrived to a broken dishwasher, broken refrigerator, and overflowing outdoor garbage containers. The homeowner was responsive to the problems with the refrigerator, and these things can break down, but we couldn't help but wonder that maybe, if the dated refrigerator had been adequately maintained, we wouldn't have had to adjust our vacation schedule on two different days to accommodate a property manager for inspection of the fridge and the delivery folks who brought a new one. It's clear that the owners put a great deal of effort into simply maintaining this very old home, but it's probably time to either do some renovating/updating or start over. We won't be going back, unless we decide to take advantage of an off-season rate to celebrate Halloween!

Our parents rented in Bay Head for years before this house became available in 1968. Five sisters own the home today and we celebrate graduations, birthdays, business partnerships and family milestones here by the beach.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 'Mrs Wheeler's Cottage' sheds light on the grandeur of life at the turn of the 20th century. From the dressing rooms in the cellar to claw-foot tubs and meticulous woodwork and architecture, we appreciate the proximity to the guarded beach and local shops. At our annual Kids' Day reunion, we hold relay races in the large yard. According to the National Historic Registry, our home is "one of the most exuberant and detailed examples of the shingle style in Bay Head." There is nothing "cookie cutter" about our home and its a fabulous location across the street from the beach with Ocean views from 6 bedrooms!
