Cozy lake cottage

Wonderful location on Houghton lake, close to dining, shopping, etc. Beds were very comfortable and overall the cottage was perfect for our needs!

Great Location!

This was our 2nd year staying at this property and it was perfect! Great location to kayaking, hiking, shopping and many dining options. House was very clean and true to posted pictures. Hosts were very responsive and easy to work with.

very nice cottage on the water!

We enjoyed our vacation very much. Very comfortable and roomy. Beds, bathrooms, living room and outdoors so very nice. Plenty of room for the 7 of us.

Classic little cottage on a beautiful lake!

This is a charming little cottage right on the water on Houghton Lake. It was a perfect location for the hottest days of the summer as we were able to wade in the waist deep water right off the dock. The lake is shallow and beautiful. The cottage was well taken care of, clean, and stocked full of supplies. Chris and Sue were great hosts and it was a great “up north” escape for my wife and I and our young kids!

Perfect Cottage

This was a perfect cottage for our relaxing girls' week on the lake. Great location close to shopping, hiking, kayaking and exploring surrounding areas. Cottage was very clean and having 3 separate bedrooms was a plus. Beds were very comfortable and cottage had great deck for morning coffee. Nice assortment of games, books and movies for rainy days. Beautiful views right on the lake with private dock and stairs into the water. We will definitely be returning again!

Witchy weekend

We stayed at this beautiful home for Witches Weekend in Houghton Lake. At first I thought the house was very tiny. However, i was pleasantly surprised at all of the same and the cozy feeling of the house. The beds were a 10 out of 10!

Amazing cabin!

Upon walking into the cabin, it was immediately apparent that the owners take great pride in their property! The cabin is well kept w/ new amenities (AC unit, TVs, WiFi, cable, etc). The backyard offered a breathtaking view of the lake and personal dock for ease of access to/from our pontoon rental. In addition, we really enjoyed the firepit in the evening. Overall, exceptional cabin. We definitely intend to rent again next year! Thanks Sue & Chris for the great Houghton Lake memories w/ our fam!

No fishing

The front of the cottage is deceiving from pictures-the pit for the fire should be cleaned out I rented a pontoon and they had theirs there and a jet ski on the other side it should’ve been moved while we were staying there the lake is really shallow you can’t fish from deck you can walk out 100 yards and it’s not over your head no good fishing you have to rent a boat I didn’t know that I went for fishing and had another expense for pontoon I should of been told

PERFECT - Just what you’re looking for!

Let me start off my saying... this place is beautiful!!! You simply will not be disappointed. If you don’t want to read this long, great, helpful review. Read no more & know that this place was PERFECT! Chris and Sue were amazing to work with. Let me also note, their neighbor is wonderful!!!! She was so helpful with parking and things to do (although you don’t need anything other than the lake and great company). On to the property.. The house is great. Sleeps tons of people! They have blankets, extra beds/mattresses for you and 2 couches that pull out into a bed! Chris and Sue were so accommodating to our group. I mentioned it’s a bachelorette weekend (not a rowdy bunch) for my sister to simply enjoy the water and each other and without hesitation, they said absolutely! And also said we could put a tent out if needed (but little did I know.. we definitely didn’t need it). 10 of us slept comfortably in that house. They also had yard games for us to use!!!! Huge huge bonus! They had chairs and a bonfire which made for a great night. One thing to note with a big group, be sure to bring lots of coolers with you. The fridge space is filled quickly when you bring pre made containers (not a big deal at all). Also note: try to carpool as there is a parking ordinance and you must be off the street at night. We brought a ton of floaties and kayaks/paddle boards and enjoyed the beautiful water that is literally right there and so shallow for quite a ways!! I really cannot say enough good things about this house, the location and how great the owners treated us. We will absolutely be back!!!!!

Great stay at cottage on the lake

We love being so close to the water. The lake is beautiful, the house has lots of amenities & creates nice spaces for people to hang out. Easy to feel right at home.

Great way to end summer vacation

Our kids had a blast playing in the shallow water off the dock. Cottage was very clean and included everything we needed in the kitchen. Evenings by the fire and beautiful sunrises the whole week! Very close to restaurants and things for the kids to do.

Wonderful lake house

This vacation rental is in a good location. Water is shallow and good for kids to swim or float. My husband caught many fish including walleye and pike. Two good restaurants on the water. Lake house is clean and their is ample space for everyone. At one point, we had 5 adults and 4 children. The beds are all extremely comfortable. There is a nice furnished living room, and sun room with good TV programming. The owners have provided very nice landscaping with beautiful potted plants. We enjoyed our stay and would fully recommend this vacation rental for your next visit to Houghton Lake.

Great getaway

Property was awesome for a summer get away. The outside area is perfect for relaxing or playing yard games during the day and great for a nice fire at night. Location was spot on. Lake was beautiful but also a reasonable drive to Higgins lake so you have options l.
