Yes, Janet was welcoming. She inquired after our check in and a couple of other times to see if we needed anything. The unit should be improved in these ways: 1. The HVAC should be separate from the house. Although a space heater was provided, it blew the circuit. Janet asked if we would reset the breaker at the outside panel. After that, we relied on heat from the rest of the house, but it was often too hot at night. I didn't feel comfortable sending the host a text whenever the temperature needed adjustment. 2.The turbine vent on the roof makes rumbling noises when it spins. This noise caused sleep to be interrupted. 3. The path from the driveway to the unit is not smoothly paved. Instead it is a walkway that has been made from stones. Furthermore, there was no lighting at all. It was pitch black at night making for a dangerous walk from the car to the unit.

Room was clean. The bed wasn’t all the most comfortable but worked fine. The walls are super thin and listened to resident snort and hack all 4 days. Not very private between you and the resident. Parking and access was great. It needs another place to sit beyond the small dining table. Coffee and snack bar were fine but something else besides flavored coffee although I did drink it. Overall not a bad spot but walls are super thin but quiet neighborhoods for sure.

This is a great place to stay for a night or two- think comfortable hotel room, but with treats, a great coffee/tea station, and safe, quiet neighborhood. The bed was comfy, communication with Sierra was good, she's really responsive. The room is attached to the main house, with a shared wall, so there can be a little noise, but nothing like you get in a hotel. I felt very much at home there, and would stay again.

Great, but very warm

Clean room, good location in a quiet neighborhood. When I was there, though, Redding was 100 degrees every day and while I can definitely appreciate the desire to conserve energy and keep the A/C to a minimum it was very warm in the room (probably low- to mid-80s) with no ability to adjust the temp. The evaporative cooler was somewhat effective, but pretty loud. Still, I would definitely recommend the spot for those who don't mind living on the warm side for their stay!

Nice Apartment - Needs A/C

The apartment was nice. Location was easy to find and the host was great! Easy check in and check out. Only complaint was that the little swamp cooler type air conditioner didn't cool the apartment and it was hard to sleep.

Quiet and Peaceful, except . . .

We enjoyed our weekend stay. Slept well, except for Sunday morning when someone's alarm in the house went off in the early hours of the morning and continued for about 30 minutes—no sleep after that.

Good For A Short Stay

Booking this Vrbo was very easy and handling the checking was very smooth with easy instructions. In a decent neighborhood, no problems or such, and is very easy to access. The place was well kept and clean as well. It is as advertised, small, but fit for a few days stay. Only knack would be the unavoidable fact that you may hear the hosts through the walls, but nothing terrible. Overall it got the job done just great.

Quiet and comfortable

We were in Redding for two nights for a friend’s funeral. We just needed a place to sleep basically, nothing fancy but we don’t like hotels. Janet’s lodging was perfect — simple, clean, comfortable and quiet. It’s attached to the main house but we never heard our neighbors.

Perfect get-away

I needed a spot for myself and my daughter to stay while visiting family. Makes a perfect little getaway and i did not have to fight anyone for the shower. I have stayed here before and its very affordable. Driveway parking and quiet neighborhood also.

I WAS SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT WE DID NOT HAVE CONTROL OF THE THERMOSTAT BUT NEEDED TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE HOSE IF WE NEEDED IT ADJUSTED. IT ENDED UP BEING FINE.

Easy, peaceful, and remodeled. Running trails nearby, long driveway for boats or moving vans. Walk the neighborhood. Close to Bethel, easy drive to Shasta Dam, close to sundial bridge, fast on and off the freeway.

10 min drive to Shasta Dam and a wonderful tour to go on for free there. Shopping less than 2 miles away. Beautiful hikes from the backyard.
