Nuevo en nuestro inventario de alquileres para 2020 y bien ubicado entre el centro del pueblo de Southwest Harbor con sus encantadoras tiendas y restaurantes y el cercano Long Pond y las montañas occidentales de Acadia, Golden Cove Cottage ofrece a sus huéspedes la misma comodidad tanto para el Parque Nacional como para las comodidades del centro. con su ubicación en Seal Cove Road. Ya sea a pie, en bicicleta o en automóvil, aventúrate a solo media milla de Main Street para llegar al parque de mariposas Charlotte Rhoades con hermosos jardines y vistas al agua y baja un poco más hacia el centro del pueblo para disfrutar de los programas y exhibiciones que se ofrecen en Wendell Museo Gilley. We always enjoy being on the Quietside of MDI. We chose this property due to its proximity to the finish line of the fall MDI marathon. We could not have been happier with our stay at Golden Cove Cottage! It was very comfortable and well equiped with all the comforts of home. You can tell the host take great pride in, and good care of, their home and we appreciate them sharing it with us. We also enjoyed their beautiful photography of many of the special spots around MDI. We are especially grateful for a host who welcomes our dogs as they always travel with us as part of "the pack". We cherish our visits to Acadia National Park and all it has to offer. During our stay at Golden Cove Cottage, we were very happy to discover a new running route between Long Pond and Echo Lake via Lurvey Spring Road, it was so peaceful and beautiful in all of its fall glory. We had a wonderful stay, thank you!

We’ll be back!

The house was perfect for what we were looking for as a family of 4 with two small children. The house is tucked away, but not too far from the places we wanted to explore. It's clean, cozy, and it has plenty of amenities. The beds are extremely comfortable (firm, not too squashy). It truly felt like a home away from home. The doors and trim are pure wood, and I love the fresh scent. The house looks small from the outside, but it's actually very roomy inside. The layout is exactly what we would want if purchasing a ranch style home. The fireplace is a nice touch to a living room that has comfy, reclining leather sofas and a large TV. The office/laundry area is a bonus. I found myself frequenting there when I needed a quiet moment to browse the internet or while washing and drying our clothes. The only disappointment was that the fire pit had been removed. I understand the reason why, but I wish we had been notified beforehand. We were really looking forward to using it during our stay. Overall, we love this house and would like to visit again!

Nice size house, comfy beds

We enjoyed our stay! Pictures of bedroom with twin beds was deceiving, room was much smaller than picture. Beds were comfy, kitchen stocked, but all the knives were dull. Ceiling fans need cleaned. Nice to have laundry area and dishwasher. Was not sure about recycling, we took it a recycle place nearby. Bar Harbor is the cutest town, a must see, especially the Bar Harbor Whale watching, we saw about 15 whales, eating and playing, it was amazing! I would rent this place again, was quiet and private, close to Acadia Park, Cadillac mountain for sunset was beautiful!

Clean well outfitted place and convenient location for our needs. Street a bit busy and noisy for those wanting a quiet out of the way locale. Gas fire pit was rusted and tank connection should be checked for leak as noted gas odor when tank valve was opened so did not use.

perfect vacay residence!

Where do I start when talking about the golden cove cottage? This place has everything you need! From games to utensils to cleaning materials! Even treats for your pet! It is impeccably clean! The beds are beyond comfy! The couches that recline in the family room add to the comfort! The living space is huge! Our family time was spent there making meals together, playing guitars by the fire pit, game nights and movie nights! It provided the entertainment as well! Our beagle mix was super comfy there as well! Okay now as for the location…you can’t beat it! In quiet Southwest Harbor you can’t go wrong! A skip away from shops and restaurants! Oh…forgot to mention the treats when we arrived! Blueberry jam and blueberry soda! Such a sweet surprise! Other perks: food store is close by, natural water spring across the street that we used daily, hiking and lakes nearby, not a far trip to Bar Harbor, and it is super quiet! If we needed help with anything, we got answers right away from the agent/owner! We will definitely be back!

Great stay at Golden Cove Cottage

This home was perfect for our family of 6 adults. We found it to be just as advertised. There was plenty of space, cozy beds, a well equipped kitchen, and supplied with all the essentials. The drive from Southwest Harbor to the main areas of the park is easy, but does take 20-30 mins. There are some nice hikes nearby and good restaurants in Southwest Harbor too. Overall we loved our stay here and would recommend this home to others.

Fantastic stay in coastal Maine & Acadia

We were a group of (4), ages 73, 60, 43 and 12. Golden Cove Cottage was perfect for us! The location is convenient and close to groceries, drug store, restaurants and cafes. Just a short drive to the Bar Harbor and the main parts of Acadia National Park. The property is immaculate, well stocked with everything you need, and extremely comfortable. Other reviewers commented on the home being located on a very busy road - we did not find that to be an issue. Check in was smooth (slight mix up on the lock code, but it was corrected in minutes). There was no issues that required management assistance. We highly recommend this property and hope to return.

Perfect accommodations

We had a wonderful time on our first visit to Acadia National Park and found the quiet cottage to be perfect for our family of 5 adults and one little dog. It was immaculate, spacious, very comfortable with careful attention to what a visitor might need. We were especially pleased to find it well-stocked with linens, towels and even bathroom and kitchen supplies. The blueberry jam and blueberry soda greeting us were a sweet touch. Highly recommend.

Perfect place to stay

The house was exactly as promised. We found it in pristine condition upon our arrival. The check-in was simple even though we arrived late in the evening. The location was a plus as it was away from the crowds in Bar Harbor, yet within an easy drive to a variety of destinations. We were able to find some favorite hikes near Southwest Harbor as well as around the park loop. Great recommendations were left by the owners as to good hiking trails. We were able to walk to Southwest Harbor and enjoy some of their activities and restaurants. A whale watching trip and e-biking around the park loop were hits for our family in addition to hiking.

Central Southwest Harbor!

We had a great two week stay here at this super convenient house in Southwest Harbor. The house had all that we could need to make for a very comfortable base camp to enjoy all that we love to do in Acadia! The kitchen was very fully stocked, and that was great for us as we don’t go out too much. Wish we could enjoy the back deck more, but didn’t have the best weather. A really great spot for active families who are busy in the day and come home to rest.

Great quiet area

Great quiet home to return to after day of hiking and exploring. Home had plenty of towels, dishes and staples. Also included great patio area with plenty of seating.

A Lovely Stay

My family (me, husband and two adult daughters) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in May 2023 at Golden Cove Cottage. The cottage was beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed the privacy, the feeling of home, and the gorgeous outdoor space. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the warm spring sun. Though we were there in the off-season, Southwest Harbor and all of Mount Desert Island and Acadia did not disappoint. It was our second trip to Acadia and we hope to get back some day! Thank you to our hosts for sharing their lovely home.
