We’re David, Stef, and Lex — your hosts at Searenity Cottages in Portland, Jamaica.

Our goal is simple: to create a restful space where you can feel at home, recharge, and leave with great memories. Guests often mention how much they value the personal touch we bring — from a warm welcome, to quick responses, to sharing tips on waterfalls, beaches, and local spots.

David is a former freediving world record holder and underwater photographer. His love for the sea is reflected throughout the cottages, where many of the photos on the walls are his own. They bring a glimpse of Jamaica’s underwater world into your stay and connect you to the island’s natural beauty.

Stef has a sharp eye for detail and a passion for health and wellness. She makes sure each cottage is cared for with meticulous attention, creating a clean and calming environment. Her care shows in the thoughtful touches that make your stay smooth and worry-free.

Lex, David’s son, adds energy and support to the property. He helps with the cottages, learning the family business while adding his own thoughtful contributions to the guest experience.

We also invite guests to visit the Guango Boutique, located on the property. It reflects Stef’s creativity and love of wholesome living. You’ll find her homemade granola, free-range eggs, refreshing kefir water, and handcrafted jewelry from her line LaTige. The boutique offers a chance to take home a piece of Searenity — something delicious, nourishing, or unique.

When we’re not caring for the cottages, you’ll often find us outdoors — diving, hiking, or exploring waterfalls together. Hosting lets us share this way of life with people from around the world who value peace, nature, and the slower pace that makes Portland so special.

Searenity Cottages is more than a place to stay — it’s a retreat designed for peace, comfort, and connection with nature. You’ll be surrounded by rainforest, waterfalls, and birdlife, yet still only minutes from beaches, dining, and attractions. Nothing is more than 30 minutes from your door.

The property sits in the middle of a bird sanctuary, so every day begins with the sounds of nature and visits from hummingbirds at your balcony feeders. Guests often say this daily connection with wildlife is what makes their stay unforgettable.

The cottages are built with wellness in mind. Each has its own balcony kitchenette for simple meals, a hammock for rest, and views of the Blue Mountains, Nonsuch Falls, and the Caribbean coastline. Guests also enjoy our 25-meter lap pool, open-air Jungle Gym, and peaceful gardens, complete with a dedicated earthing spot for grounding and relaxation.
