La construcción de la casa es nueva; combina paredes de hormigón con techos altos de madera. También tiene un porche, que se convierte en un excelente lugar para sentarse para aquellos que disfrutan de un café por la mañana o un lugar para conversar con la oportunidad de ver una variedad de aves locales.

Si desea obtener el verdadero sabor de la cultura costarricense, esta casa ofrece la ubicación correcta, ya que está lejos de las zonas turísticas.

El lugar tiene dos habitaciones, una con una cama king-size y una cama queen-size en la segunda habitación; Es un lugar cómodo para una familia pequeña o una pareja.

Con veinte minutos en coche, puede acceder a todas las instalaciones del centro de La Fortuna. Cuando se trata de salir a cenar, tres lugares locales tienen una gran variedad de sabrosos platos costarricenses a precios razonables.

The Perfect Stay

Jose is a great host. The house is beautiful and well-appointed. We love staying out of the busy town but being close enough to drive in. Jose showed us around his property and shared his love and knowledge of his country. Highly recommend and would love to go back.

Outstanding property and host

Jose was great to communicate with and they were very helpful. We had a SIM card issue, and Were very greatful for there assistance. Initially I was unsure of the location, but it turned out to be perfect for us. Thanks again for sharing this home with us.

Wow!!!!

Totally exceeded our expectation, communication with the owner was impeccable. Scarlett Macaws flew over every morning tree frogs at night. I would stay there again without hesitation.

Best Experience Ever

My husband and I only had a few days to get away so we booked our stay with Jose! First of all, the house is ABSOLUTELY beautiful and Jose helped us book all of the activities we did while in Costa Rica. I would book this again in a heart beat and getting to love on Dexter was the cheery on top! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Outstanding in every way!

Jose was helpful in every direction! He made sure we knew how to locate his home even arriving late! Being a tour guide he assisted us in tours, restaurants, etc. The home was quiet, beautiful location that tucans and & parrots also visited. Located near rain forest and places to see!

Very comfortable house with a small forest and garden. Jose is a great host. Showed us a sloth and Iguana on the property. His dog Dexter entertained our boys along with a neighbor dog. House is around 6 miles from La Fortuna. We had a car, so it worked out well for us.

Great location to discover Costa Rica!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we were not disappointed. Prior to arrival, we contacted Jose several times to find out places to visit, the nearest beach, a golf course where we could play. Jose always quick to respond which allows us to plan our trip well. The house was simply amazing! The house is really big, well equipped and as presented on the website. Thanks to Jose for all his suggestions for restaurants and activities. He is a great host!

First trip to Costa Rica

Small but very comfortable with all of the needed appliances and basic equipment. Used the kitchen daily. Grocery restaurants and multiple Paan (baked goodies) shops near but in a neighborhood area that was friendly and quiet at night, at least after 9pm. Jose was great. Very friendly and helpful We had a great trip! Thanks Jose

Just stay here!!!!

Do yourself a favor and get out of the hustle and bustle of Tourist Town (La Fortuna) and stay at this gem of a spot. Jose has created an oasis not even ten minutes from the city so you can still enjoy that scene for the day if you want. There are bakery's, pubs and restaurants within a three minute drive of his place, but at the property we saw sloths, multitudes of birds and Dexter the friendliest dog ever. The house was absolutely immaculate and beautiful, and if you want to ACTUALLY experience Costa Rican culture, this is the place to stay.

An Impeccable Blessing

My partner and I stayed for just under two weeks and we enjoyed every second. It is located in a well-located, safe part of town. We loved being able to go for jogs in the morning, bird watching in the afternoon, or listening to the rain in the evening. Jose was masterful and extremely kind-hearted. My favorite was the beautiful (+ hot) shower and modern kitchen with everything a foodie could ask for (including an apron!). This truly felt like a blessed couples retreat for us. Thank you Jose- from the top and bottom of our hearts. (If this place is available, don't hesitate- just book!)

Beautiful place to stay

We all like it. It's a nice house and kids can have their own room. A little isolated but have washer and dryer for washing clothes every day! I personally think it is better than the expensive resort we stayed for the rest of the trip. However, you do need a car to stay here. Unfortunately, renting a car is tricky in costa rica. The car we have is OK but head light is weak. We couldn't see clearly so couldn't drive much after dark.

Loved it

We stayed here 4/14/24 thru 4/17/24. The home is beautiful, clean, and looks brand new. It was fully furnished with every kitchen appliance and utensil you could possibly need, even a corkscrew. Nice tiled bathroom and plenty of hot water for showers. The full size washer/dryer was a nice bonus as well. Bedroom were good size and the beds were comfortable. Extra towels and linens in the laundry area. You could easily sleep 4-5 people here. Air conditioners in the bedrooms and ceiling fans in all rooms, the whole house cooled off nicely. The home is in Los Angeles, a short drive to La Fortuna and less than 45 mins from Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges. We had dinner several times in Los Angeles and felt safe in the area. Jose was an amazing host, easy to contact and quick communication with any questions. We would definitely rent this home again, highly recommended.

What an amazing stay!

I can't say enough about our time at Jose's lovely home. The entire experience was so enjoyable and flawless. The house is impeccable and very clean. You have everything that you will need to stay and very well appointed throughout the home. We were so close to everything that we visited while in the La Fortuna area. Jose is a wealth of knowledge and gave us some amazing recommendations in La Fortuna and for our next stop of Monteverde! The property is so nice with plenty of foliage and wildlife. We were so happy that this was our first stop in Costa Rica and was able to experience Pura Vida! Also Jose's dog Dexter is such a sweet and amazing dog and so lovely to have around the proerty! Thanks so much Jose!!!!!

This was very pleasant place to stay. Jose is a great host and we also loved his dog Dexter!

We enjoyed being right outside of La Fortuna and having some distance from the people, noise, etc. You will need a car if you stay here. The house has everything you need and is very clean and spacious. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is set up so you can make your meals if you like. It was also nice to be able to do laundry when needed. The dog Dexter is soooo sweet and I got my dog fix while being away from home.

Amazing property, amazing Host!

José and his beautiful home were absolutely delightful! We stayed for 5 days while visiting the Arenal area and we will most definitely be back. The house itself had everything you need, the beds were comfortable, and the laundry was a huge plus for families like us who are off to another location. The location was about 15 mins from fortuna, and right in the middle of any adventure you want to take. José was easy to reach by text and arranged a fantastic white water tour for us and he even arranged that they would pick us up right at the house!! He and his sweet puppy Dexter were so great! We will recommend this home to anyone visiting the area! Thanks so much from Evan, Kayla and Chaseton!

Comfortable house with excellent host

Beautiful new property. Perfect for our needs. Very comfortable all round, especially the bed !!!! Very well equipped kitchen. Lovely to see the sloth and birds in the garden. The guide books for birds and plants were very useful. Jose was a very attentive and helpful host. Even greeted us with a bottle of red wine.

Beautiful house, peaceful location

We are a family of four and recently stayed for 4 nights. This house was well outfitted with everything we needed, making it truly feel like a "home away from home". The furnishings all seemed very new, in excellent condition, including everything from the mattresses to dinnerware. The house was exceptionally clean. The home is located on a short side street, and the nearby houses were also well-maintained. We loved sitting outside on the porch in the evening - it was peaceful and quiet, and NO mosquitos! We were only a few minutes outside La Fortuna, but enough to escape the crowds and noise of that town. The owner was especially kind and personable and went above and beyond in taking care of us. There was so much to do in Arenal and 4 days wasn't enough to experience it all. We hope to be back one day!

Excellent property, recommend it highly.

House is only one year old. Plenty of room for a family. Extremely clean. The kitchen even has a garbage disposal and the dishwasher, which we have not seen in Costa Rica before. There are actually three rooms for sleeping.One bedroom has a sliding glass door into another room with a bed.Perfect for watching your children.. Jose, himself, designed this house. His attention to detail is exquisite. The house itself is located roughly 6miles outside of La Fortuna and a semi rural area. You’ll go down a dirt road off the regular asphalt road about a block or so to the home. There are a few houses around , However, very quiet. There is a sloth in the tree right adjacent to the house, like 10 feet away. Really neat to see it. Jose lives in a beautiful cabin about 75 feet behind the house, but really private. We were both so pleased with the experience, that we both wanted to take time to write about this property. Here is my wife’s comments following this:::::: We were a couple traveling from the United states to Costa Rica for the first time. From the start José was very attentive to any of our questions or concerns. Jose attention to detail with his home is superb. I can not think of anything he left out. Kitchen fully equipped. Even has a dish washer. Great laundry room. Beds are very comfortable. Jose had a lovely bottle of red wine and beer waiting. Coffee and tea for guests. We love to be part of the culture we are traveling to and Jose home is located with that in mind. It is not in the middle of touristy things. Takes about 10 minutes to attractions you may want to do. Bonus for us was Jose is also a tour guide. After conversations about some next adventures we were struggling with. Jose took care of it all. Set us up to enjoy the experience. Sad to say we do not speak Spanish. Jose is fluent in English. We thank you for enhancing the LaFortuna part of our journey.

Great new house for stay right outside of La Fortuna

My family and I stayed for 2 nights in this nice house. We are a family of 5. We have three small children and everyone felt right at home. It took us 10 -15 minutes to get to where all the restaurants are in La Fortuna. An easy drive. A bonus was there was a sloth that was in the trees above the house.

The property was purchased in 2006 with the dream of having a perfect place to retire. Construction began in April 2018, and by October 2018, our dream home was ready to be lived in. However, retirement isn't in the cards for us just yet. Instead of keeping this wonderful place to ourselves, we decided to open our doors and let you enjoy it, too. Our home is filled with love, nature, and peace; we hope you'll find it as enchanting as we do.

We don't care about having large crowds; instead, we care about those who truly appreciate the dedication of a Costa Rican family to keep the place in good condition. We take great pride in maintaining our home, and we hope our guests will value the effort we put into creating a comfortable and inviting space.
