Cottage Georgian Atractiva En Harbour Front, con maravillosas vistas al mar

Casa georgiana atractivo, confortable y modernizado, pero conserva su encanto y carácter. Su situación es uno de los mejores en el pueblo en la parte frontal del puerto con vistas al mar. 2 salas de estar y cocina comedor separado. La sala de estar frente (ver foto) tiene unas vistas maravillosas a través de una ventana de imagen del puerto y el mar abierto. Staithes es un histórico pueblo de pescadores en el Parque Nacional de North York Moors, el refugio de pintores y fotógrafos. Hay muchas pinturas al óleo originales en la casa pintada por la madre del actual propietario.
La casa era la mitad del "Paletilla de cordero" original casa pública. El pueblo estaba lleno de contrabandistas pasajes.
Alojamiento
• Amplia cocina bien equipada. Nevera con congelador. Cocina eléctrica, tostadora, cafetera de filtro, microondas y lavavajillas. Hearth con la gama tradicional y estufa eléctrica. Techo de vigas, suelos de piedra.
• Sala de estar 1: Pino paneles paredes, suelo de roble, vigas de madera, chimenea victoriana con efecto carbón fuego, televisión de pantalla plana, vídeo y DVD. Vista del mar.
• Sala de estar 2: "El Snug" con gran ventanal con vistas al puerto y al mar abierto. Libros y juegos. Piso de roble.
• Dormitorio 1: cómoda cama king size de Hypnos, vista al mar.
• Dormitorio 2: cama doble y una cama individual, con vistas al mar.
• Dormitorio 3: cama individual.
• Cuarto de baño: ducha eléctrica sobre la bañera, inodoro, toma de máquina de afeitar de doble voltaje y espejo de aumento, calentador de toallas.
• planta baja Calefacción: 3 calentadores eléctricos de almacenamiento, 2 convectores y 1 de carbón efecto de fuego. Planta alta: 1 acumulador, 2 convectores.
• terraza delantera privada con vistas al mar: sillas disponibles.
• Características: sin obstáculos vistas al mar desde la mayoría de las ventanas.

Parking was in secure garage at the top of the bank. (Temporary parking available for unloading.) Cottage is beautifully situated with bay window overlooking the harbour right above the water. It was spacious and very clean and comfortable but retained lots of old and original styling and quaint decorations. Some updating might be desired but it was all in keeping with the special atmosphere of Staithes.

The cottage was quirky and perfectly located in the village for us to enjoy the view, go to the beach, go crabbing, walking, relaxing, and just enjoying ourselves!!We didn't want to leave.

Really enjoyed our stay in Staithes, with a fab view from Garth End Cottage, that also had everything we needed. Highly recommended!

Excellent, would definitely stay again

The cottage is situation right on the harbour with the front wall actually part of the harbour wall. The view is stunning with a huge floor to ceiling bay window looking out to the ocean. The main bedroom also has a stunning view overlooking the harbour and the one sea front pub in the town. The cottage is neat and clean, generous in size with super comfy clean beds and a good sized bathroom. With full kitchen facilities it really is the perfect cottage to enjoy Staithes from. The cottage has original beams features and an untouched oldy worldy vibe. You can walk to everywhere in town from the front door. The owner is friendly and lovely and really helpful in every way. We can't recommend this property enough and we will be back!

A little gem with beautiful views. We loved all the artwork, trinkets and old features within the cottage. It was so nicely kept and clean but had a very cosy feeling.

Another fabulous stay

This was our second stay in this lovely, comfortable cottage with its wonderful views. Everything you need is provided... plus a welcoming bottle of wine,which was a nice touch. Hilary is an excellent host. We will certainly be booking again.

On reaching the cottage down the hill through the cobbled street lined with shops a cafe's, we entered the cottage and view over the harbour is spectacular.

A lovely cottage in a great location. Garth End Cottage was everything we wanted and hoped for - comfortable, well-equipped and well-situated both for walking and relaxing and taking in the sea views and everything else Staithes has to offer. Definitely on our list of places we’d like to stay again.

We had a really nice stay at Garth End cottage. The quirky cottage was set in a fantastic location in the centre of Staithes overlooking the harbour. The cottage itself was well equipped with superb views. A great place to spend the week

Great Garth End.

Lovely, charming cottage with outstanding views. Ideally placed. Easy instructions from the owner, no problems at all.Good sized rooms.Great kitchen. All in all very comfortable, Paul/Dawn.

Fabulous location

The cottage is right on the harbour so has wonderful views. Is a lovely characterful village. The property could do with some updating especially the bathroom and kitchen which, if nothing else, need a good scrub. Personally I would remove the niknaks as they are just collecting dust. The beds were very comfortable. There is designated car parking but it is on the outskirts of the village up an extremly steep hill so for those with mobility issues this could be a problem.

Garth End Cottage

Fantastic location, could not have wished for better. Having stayed in older properties before Garth End was as expected, plenty of character. The only disappointment for me was the shower, the hose was warn and leaked and the shower head kept drooping. This in itself was not enough to spoil our stay, and after reading this I am sure the owner will get it replaced.

An excellent place to stay

We arrived at the cottage during a rainstorm, but that only made the cottage seem even more snug and secure. Hilary has gone to great lengths to make her guests comfortable. The cottage is well equipped with everything one would need and the views are wonderful from nearly every window. We were happy to just sit and watch the sea. Staithes is a charming little coastal village. We left our car in the garage at the top of the hill, secure in the knowledge that it was safe. My husband and I had a wonderful, relaxing short break and will definitely return in the future.

Hilary is a retired social worker whose parents bought the cottage in 1954. Her mother was a painter and loved the village. Hilary and her husband Chris took over the cottage in 1980 and have totally renovated it.

The village is full of history. It is visually a very beautiful village nestling in the natural harbour made by the Cowbar and the Staithes Beck. The property is spacious and although modernised, retains many of the old features. With its harbourfront position It has some of the best views out to sea in the village.
