Perfect Lakefront Getaway on Badin Lake

The Griffin Getaway(GG) is the perfect place for you and your family and friends to retreat from your busy lives to cast your worries aside, unplug, and enjoy the serenity at the lake. There is something about that lake that allows you to escape. “On lake time“ is not just a phrase without meaning. Badin lake is a family friendly lake surrounded by the Uwharrie National Forest. Bring your boat or jet skis and park them at your own private dock. Jump off the end of the dock where you will find great water depth. Go for a paddle on one of the two kayaks provided for you complimentary with your stay. GG is located in a cove, perfect for fishing or kayaking or just swimming off the dock. Soak in the morning sunrise from the deck. End the day grilling and dine on the deck in the shade as the sun sets. It's the perfect atmosphere to grill and have dinner outdoors. At night, descend downstairs to relax in the media room where you can enjoy a movie or play some board games or video games with the family. Or, roast some marshmallows for s'mores after a night's swim. If the need arises where you have to squeeze in a little bit of work, you can do so at the workstation. Fiber optic internet is included.

We would love for your to bring your 4 legged family member along on your vacation as well. I will however, only allow small-medium sized doodles to keep the house hypoallergenic for those who are allergic. $50 fee per dog with a max of two. Please confirm with me when making your reservation.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, coffee maker, blender, hand mixer, toaster, utensils, dishes, knives, cups, plates, etc...

We provide an automatic under cabinet ice maker, convenient for filling your cooler to take to the dock or on your boat, rather than making trips to the store to purchase ice.

The main floor provides an open floor plan KIT/LR/DR with access to a spacious deck overlooking the lake. Down the hallway is the laundry closet, the main bathroom with access from the master bedroom and a second bedroom. Downstairs is the media room with a workstation area and a third bedroom with two full size beds. Walk through the sunroom out to the lake side yard, large enough for the kids to run and play.

You will not want to miss 4th of July week on Badin. The fireworks are fantastic. Uwharrie Point has a spectacular fireworks show, but the lake residents give them a run for their money. At dusk take your boat out to the open water and you will witness beautiful fireworks throughout the sky in every direction. A big bonus, is this house is situated on the boat parade route! It's my most favorite tradition where decorated boats cruise by the docks and some will even try to squirt you with their water guns as they drive by. You can squirt your water guns too! It is a great experience!!!

We have two options for boat landings. One is closer by water, the other is closer by land. Neighborhood landing 5-min via land and water. Public landing 6-7 minutes via land and 1 minute via water.

There are many places to visit nearby with downtown Charlotte being only an hour away as well Greensboro and Winston Salem and the Triad. Albemarle, Asheboro, and Thomasville, are all 30 minutes away and offer some dining. Richfield is a short 15 minute drive. There are some dining options here as well as a grocery store. We are very fortunate to have a Dollar General 5 minutes away to take care of your last minute needs. Locally, we have Scallywags, Badin Lake Family Restaurant, Sweet Haven Ice Cream Shop, and food trucks at the DG parking lot most weekends. Details to be provided at arrival.
