Great place for large family. Great location, beautiful view, very accommodating. Readily stocked with everything you need for cooking. Awesome place to make memories that will last a lifetime!

Nice stay

Our whole family went this trip and the house was perfect for a lot of people. It has everything we needed for cooking in the kitchen and plenty of room. We thoroughly enjoyed the huge oceanfront porch!

Beautiful beach house, close to everything!

It's a wonderful little beach house with direct access to the beach and everything else we needed was very close by. There was plenty of space for everyone and if we had filled all the beds, the kitchen would have been more than enough to cook for them all!

Great Location

Our party consisted of 14 people. Two members of our party cancelled at the last minute. Our stay at the Barnett House was wonderful. Plenty of space and the location of the beach was the best. Everything we needed was easily obtainable. I will definitely recommend Barnett House to anyone with a large party. We rotate our visit between the mountains and the beach. See you in a few years!

Nice place for family

It was in a good location on the beach. The building is a little dated, but plenty roomy. The only issue we had was that the washing machine wouldn’t drain. The property manager sent their reps over to check it out, and said they’d send a repairman, but one never showed up. Other than that, this place more than met our needs.

Martha's Crew 2023 Family Vacation

This property is PERFECT for family. We loved the "Center" of the house. For us, the family gathering at the farmhouse table is BEST part of the house. We do think the carpet and ducts may need a thorough cleaning because allergies kicked up with coughing and sniffling and sneezing. Also, a screen door on the back and the deck would've been lovely, so the dragon flies wouldn't chase us. LOL But overall, the house is perfect for a big family.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We just spent a long weekend at Barnett House upstairs with our kids and friends for spring break. It was perfect! The layout is awesome with plenty of beds to choose from, Jack and Jill bathrooms, a kitchen with absolutely everything you could possibly need, an amazing breeze through the center of the house when the doors are open, and a porch filled with rocking chairs to enjoy the beautiful view! We loved the long table for our low country boil and the grills were simple and easy when we wanted hotdogs and burgers. The whole house has a great weathered beach cottage feel. We would LOVE to come back! Wear your flip flops in the grass! The burrs got me once! The WiFi handled lots of teenagers devices no problem! TVs in almost every room even though we never needed to turn them on. It really was a treat!

Could have been better

The outside of this home smelled like pee, but once you get in the home it’s beautiful. The beds were just super small, and very uncomfortable. We were supposed to be there 3 days we only stayed 1. We ended up going to stay with friends. Myself and my husband could not fit in the bed together comfortably. This was every bed in every room sadly. All 12 of us left the next morning to find another place to stay. It’s a nice home. It just needs many upgrades.

Good layout and clean but poorly maintained.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Check in and check out was a good experience. The dryer wasn’t working and though the mgmt company was prompt in sending maintenance the people they sent were not good and I would subcontract with someone else. The vent pipe was clogged. The first guy didn’t do anything and the second finally agreed that was the problem but said he wasn’t the guy who unplugged vent pipes. We unplugged ourselves well enough to get along. The mgmt offered to pickup and return laundry. So they attempted to be very responsive. The property is fairly rundown but was clean and is an excellent layout to house 16 people. We bought drop cloths at Lowe’s to cover the very old couch.

We absolutely loved our stay and will come again! The location of being right on the beach made the stay with kids so much more enjoyable and easy access for bathrooms breaks. Etc! Annual Barnett House Beach Trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Fabulous, what more can I say? We have been loving The Barnett House since discovering it during the “re-do” in 1986. We had always stayed at family owned Cool Air Cottage next door and peeked in since it was open for construction and we had outgrown Cool Air. Everything about Barnett House is perfect. The over the top equipped kitchen is large enough for multiple chefs. One of our favorite things is the 1940’s table. We usually have 12 or so eating, a baby seat and a 1000 piece puzzle on it with room to spare. Each year we hope they don’t decide to sell as most others have so that we can continue enjoying another year,. Our grandchildren figured out just this year that it is not “our beach house”. See you for Long Beach week 2025!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a great location and is good for large groups with plenty of beds. The back deck is where you should spend most of your time when staying here. We arrived late and found there was one roll of toilet paper for the three bathrooms. I picked some up the next day when I had to sign paperwork in the office. So, be sure to take any common items you may need like a fan for sleeping as the bedrooms were warmer than the common area. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and dishware. Did not have any seasonings like salt or pepper, so bring or buy those. Good place to stay, but it's a little dated and felt like a rental house looking strictly at the bottom line. I'm a short term rental property owner and it's nice to provide simple amenities like box fans, Kleenex and a few things in the cupboards like food seasonings.
