A delightful cottage in a tranquil location accessible to the beaches etc in a short drive.
A beautifully renovated cottage in a secluded location. The owners were wonderful and so helpful too. A really high spec rental property with everything provided to make our stay relaxing. It boasts a big wood burning stove and a spacious walk in shower all with an artistic contemporary feel.

A hidden gem in the heart of Pembrokeshire
Bwythn Bran, once a cow barn, has been lovingly restored by Bean and Angus to provide comfortable and cosy accommodation for two. Not only have they restored it, but they have put their own charming and unique creative talents to excellent use - stained glass from Bean, woodwork from Angus, together with oodles of attractive touches from them both. The cottage has all the basic amenities you will require and is extremely well placed to explore both the Preseli hills and the coast. The village just down the road is well equipped in terms of a variety of shops, petrol station, etc.
Vases of flowers and half a dozen eggs, together with a good supply of logs were there on our arrival. Colour co-ordinated bed linen and towels were provided and all was clean and well presented. Around the doorway outside were groups of pots with hanging baskets in flower - a welcoming, homely touch.
Nearby activities are numerous, but we concentrated on walks along the coastal path and in the Preseli hills. Planning what to do each day wasn't an issue as there is lots of up to date information in the cottage to inspire the visitor, whatever your interests. We found Newport to be a buzzy and lively place with good shops. The butchers/greengrocer was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. The coffee shop/restaurant with the round tables outside is the one to patronise, opposite the Spa shop. Down the coast, Porthgain was historically fascinating and The Shed (bistro fish) was excellent. The Iron Age village a few miles from the cottage was also really interesting. But that's only a small selection of lots of other lovely places which we visited.
What makes Bwythn Bran a particularly memorable experience is the family who have worked so hard on the restoration and who take such care with the wellbeing of their guests. They couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming and were always keen to recommend local attractions which might appeal to us. Bean, Angus and Elvie have carved out a little bit of heaven with an admirable approach to life and living. Go and see for yourself and go home feeling refreshed and peaceful!

A quite beautiful cottage set of amongst the Welsh Rolling hillsides.
On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by the owners of the cottage who immediately showed us around this charming cottage and answered fully any questions we had regarding the surrounding attractions, facilities and activities. The cottage itself was spotless and boasted every amenity you could require. The location too is perfect to visit beaches, cliff walks and country pursuits. The surrounding countryside is truly magnificent at every turn of the road and the many rivers and streams are a shear delight.
We took our dog with us a Golden retriever, who is now I'm sure, suffering post holiday blues, he really did have a great time. I must say I would have no problems recommending this holiday to both young and old, I feel it contains something for everybody.
Another thing that made it such a great time for us was the seven days of wall-to-wall sunshine with temperatures in the mid 20s, just wish I could bottle it!!
Go there, your love it.

Hidden secret at Crymych, wonderful stay.
Our stay at Crymych, in Bwthyn Bran, a renovated stables/hayloft, with Angus and Bean was a great succes. Both the hosts are pleasant, warm, helpfull persons and open-minded. Bwthyn Bran is very cosy, there's a well equipped kitchen, a good bed en a fine shower/bathroom. The special taste of the drinkingwater is very nice. Short: A dream to stay in for a couple of days. The fireplace is an extra. Not being used to that, Angus was a very good instructor and supervisor. Within one day we were an expert and it was real fun. It emphasizes the location: the surroundings are very silent with a bit of an African touch, rough, hilly, and yet wide. We would come again another time if we get the chance!

Bean & Angus have lived at Blaenwaun Farm since 2009. With three daughters between them, four dogs, two cats, chickens and ducks - life is certainly never dull.
Work started on Bwthyn Bran during 2009, replacing the tin roof - then after a brief pause while they had daughter number three, they carried on with the restoration work. They have undertaken a vast majority themselves, recruiting talented friends and tradesmen to help along the way.
Bean is a stained glass illustrator, artist, writer and Angus is woodworker. Together they run a business called Artisan Rising where they produce bespoke commissions and craft items.
