Hermosa casa de campo - ideal para reuniones de entretenimiento y de la familia

La Grange es una impresionante casa de campo del siglo 17 ubicado en 2 acres de jardines bien cuidados con gran alcance vistas hacia la llanura de Salisbury. Está situado en el corazón de Wiltshire, a las afueras de la histórica ciudad de Devizes. Los mundialmente famosos sitios de patrimonio de Stonehenge, Avebury y Silbury Hill están a 20 minutos en coche. Bath, Salisbury y Longleat están a media hora de distancia. Oxford y los Cotswolds son excursiones de un día.

El pueblo de Worton tiene un pub atractivo e histórico, y una extensa red de senderos. Hay lagos de pesca de trucha a menos de 10 minutos a pie. También hay paseos a caballo en el cercano pueblo de Lavington.

Hemos amueblado el Grange tradicionalmente pero con todas las comodidades modernas.
La casa fue construida en la década de 1640, con adiciones posteriores al final del siglo 19. Prince Rupert se rumorea que han permanecido durante la Guerra Civil y se encontró un casco de la época en el jardín hace unos años.

La casa de tres pisos es ideal para el entretenimiento con un 30 pies sala de recepción doble con dos quemadores de madera eficientes y comedor independiente con chimenea que tiene capacidad para al menos 12. La cocina / comedor viene con una tradicional Aga 4 puertas. Arriba hay 6 amplias habitaciones dobles. El dormitorio principal tiene una cama king size super y lujoso cuarto de baño con dos lavabos, bañera y cabina de ducha de hidromasaje. Dormitorio 2 tiene una cama king size y baño en suite, 3 dormitorios tiene dos camas individuales y habitaciones de 4 y 5 en el ático cuentan con camas queen size y un cuarto de baño con dos lavabos, bañera con ducha cuarto, dormitorio 6 es una habitación doble y también tiene su propio baño.

Los jardines son una característica particular, con campo de croquet, jardín amurallado con perales y manzanos con una pequeña avenida de la vid, junto con el verano y el invierno arbustos de frambuesa. Hay dos estanques de peces de colores rodeadas de adoquines de tablero de ajedrez. En el jardín trasero (apto para el bádminton) también hay una abierta juegos en espacio / sala de granero con ping-pong.

Family reunion

We had family visiting from far and wide for the youngest sibling’s upcoming wedding … this was a perfect venue to get together and relax, meet new family members and grandchildren, and generally enjoy ourselves.Amazing property, very spacious and comfortable, and excellent amenities. Loved it!

Great time in Worton

We came for a family reunion for a week and found The Grange perfect. The weather was not ideal but this did not stop us having a great week, which included Christmas. There are many things to do close by and if you don’t feel like going out the house was great for just hanging out and playing games inside and out.

Beautiful House and Grounds, suitable for families and friends... young and old...

We had an great stay at this amazing property as a Group of friends in our 30s, with one small child, and could not be happier with the owners and the facilities at the house. The grounds were stunning, the bedrooms and bathrooms were all of a high standard and for communal space there were plenty of options. Lots of entertainment provided, with a tennis court, croquet lawn, table tennis table and loads of board games to choose from. Outdoor and indoor seating - you never have to leave! Could not recommend this highly enough!! Thanks for having us and hopefully one day we'll all be back!

Family Birthday Bonanza Gathering

Our family is scattered around the globe, and this property provided the perfect meeting point for the smaller family circle to meet. This house is spacious and allows spending together-time in a generous manner. Additionally, it is a listed building and history breaths through every nook and cranny. Good old AGA oven in the kitchen provides the feeling of hearth of the home. Garden's landscape invites guests to lounge, enjoy peaceful atmosphere of the village surrounding against the backdrop of croquet, badminton and table-tennis sounds. Major advantage of this property, is the ability for a larger group to enjoy each other's company come rain or shine, due to it's layout. Only one negative aspect comes to mind : the cleaning costs. I have already questioned this with the owner. I do not find the quoted amount to be realistic and truly kosher - speaking from experience of owning a larger, older villa in continental Europe.

Wonderful House in Wiltshire

We and our friends and family very much enjoyed the Grange -house and grounds. A beautiful property, well furnished, with a number of paintings by the owner who is clearly an accomplished artist and horsewoman. It was a little chilly, but perhaps that is to be expected in England's springtime.

Lovely family stay

Great location for a big family get together. Lots of things to do like table tennis and croquet. Space for large family dinner and great kitchen. Lovely lounge with open fire. House nice and warm too. Only complaint was lots for flies dead and alive but may have been time of year.

We had a wonderful experience at the house, which is in a beautiful part of Wiltshire and conveniently placed for leisurely walks. The house is charming and has all necessary facilities, and a grass tennis court, lovely manicured garden and a fascinating history.

Very comfortable stay in delightful surroundings

We loved the house, the beds were comfortable and all the seating areas were too. We had to call Howard to improve the heating, as some radiators were stone cold. He was a great help and very willing and amusing. After 2 visits the heating was finally sorted out. It would have been helpful to have known how the flush in the master bedroom worked! Also there were some light switches that we never found. Some explanatory notes in the book would help. Some of our family had allergic reactions to pets that must have been in the house. But overall we really appreciated the beauty of the house and the family loved the games area in the barn.

Wonderful for all ages

Our family ranges from age 4 to 71. Plus Prince the dog. And everyone was very happy. The weather was perfect so we took full advantage of the huge magnificent garden: playing croquet, football, hide and seek, tag, and 'the Devises Olympics', as well as eating all meals outdoors. A lovely home including a well equipped kitchen (we love cooking). Thank you.

Beautiful house and grounds

A group of 6 couples stayed here for my big birthday and it was perfect. Lots of games of table tennis, a game of tennis, barbeque and meals in the lovely dining room. Comfortable Lounge and bedrooms and plenty of hot water and powerful showers. We would definitely book the house again.

Perfect!

We were 3 families -- 7 adults, 2 teenagers, and 5 children ages 4 and under. Sounds like a lot, but we all fit beautifully into this gorgeous house. We had a few days of summer-like weather and the children loved playing in the vast fairy-tale garden (there are two small ponds to the side of the house, so be aware) and the grownups enjoyed the seating area, as well as croquet, table tennis, and badminton. The inside of the house is lovely and homey -- extremely comfortable. We especially loved experimenting with using the Aga.

Splendid

We could not have found a better location for our golden wedding anniversary with our party of 5 adults and 5 children. The Grange is not only a splendid holiday rental but a truly well appointed family home, beautifully furnished throughout and every conceivable convenience. We appointed local Caradoc Catering to provide the food, excellent both in quality and quantity which left us free to explore Avebury Ring and museum, also the huge stair of locks on the Kennett Avon Canal. Mustn't forget the children who delighted in the warren of rooms in this historic building.

Father's Day & Birthday celebrations

8 Adults and 4 children and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was a beautiful home with everything necessary for a good get together. The rooms were lovely and very tastefully decorated,retaining their homeliness. The kitchen was the hub as it opened onto a vast and beautiful garden which was well stocked with games for all.We did not want to leave. We all decided to make it an annual meeting place. The pub across the road was great to send the boys for a Father's Day drink,small and friendly. We will return. We highly recommend this property. Well done. Thank you.

Spacious lovely house

We have had the most perfect family get together at the Grange. The house is even lovelier than the website suggests, beautifully warm, comfortable and very well maintained. It is delightfully interesting in it's layout with different staircases and unexpected rooms in addition to the main rooms which are very spacious. We particularly loved the extensive and well stocked bookshelves and would loved to have stayed longer. We took a walk along the canal in Devizes and the surrounding countryside is very beautiful. Atalanta was very welcoming and we would have no hesitation in recommending this property for gatherings with friends and families.

Large, comfy and dog-friendly too!

We were looking for a big dog-friendly house to celebrate a 50th birthday and wanted a convenient location between Bristol and London. The Grange was perfect! We all had a fantastic weekend. The six bedrooms were all big and comfortable with good quality beds, linen and warm duvets. The kitchen was very well stocked and big enough for 12 of us to eat breakfast in and the dining room had a lovely atmosphere for a special Saturday dinner. Although large, The Grange has a very 'cosy' feel. In spite of the cold weather, we also enjoyed using the garden, barn and ping-pong table. My only criticism would be that some of the rooms were a little on the cold side - thankfully we found some oil radiators to warm them up a bit! Thanks Atalanta for a lovely stay. I would definitely recommend your house for groups of family and friends.

Great House for group entertaining

This is a great house for a group of family and friends. It has ample (and some very large) bedrooms and great living spaces - plenty of room for a group of adults not to feel confined and a lovely garden which we made little use of in the middle of Winter but would be lovely in Summer. It is generously equipped and feels like a home from home. Atalanta was responsive and flexible in our dealings which made it easy for us. I would definitely go back, as would all of our party.
