North GA, Timpson Cove Cottage. Just a few hundred yards to Lake Burton.

We’re located on an acre in Rabun County where Timpson Creek meets Lake Burton. We’re just down the street from lake access at Anchorage Boat Dock, and under a mile from the public beach access on nearby Charlie Mountain Road. We’re just off Highway 76 and a short drive to downtown Clayton, GA (6 miles). The Appalachian Trail is just up the road, as well as Waterfall Club Resort and Golf Course. Basically, we’re right smack dab in the middle of much to do in Rabun County. From hiking, waterfall sightseeing, cycling, fishing, boating, skiing, and overall lake-relaxing, we’re at the heart of what northeast Georgia has to offer.

Our home has 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. The Primary bath has an additional clawfoot tub. The Primary bedroom is quite large with fresh carpet and a very comfortable mattress. There are 4 beds total: 2 King & 2 Full (an additional inflatable mattress and “pack’n’play” are also available). We have a full laundry room and supply closet, a screened-porch, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and ample room between the fireplace and living area. There’s also a charcoal/kamado grill above the fire pit, nestled along the driveway.

This cabin was an excellent choice for a peaceful getaway. The property was beautiful, quiet, and well maintained, making it easy to relax and unwind. Chad was a wonderful host—very responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. We only stayed three nights, but it was a fantastic experience, and we would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat.

Easily one of the best rental experiences we’ve ever had! Place is beautiful, so spacious, and perfectly located.. just ten minutes from Clayton and an easy walk to Anchorage! We rented a boat for the day and made our way to the public beach as well which was maybe a five minute drive (if that). The house is so clean, well decorated, and cozy. Our new go to spot! Chad is as an amazing host. So responsive and hospitable. Can’t recommend enough!

We loved our stay! The home is beautifully decorated, with comfortable seating inside and also on the screened porch, comfy beds and in a great location. It is a short walk to Anchorage Marina on Lake Burton where you can rent a boat and also a 15 minute drive to Clayton.

Beautiful Cabin

This is a gem…beautiful indoor / outdoor spaces and a very short, easy walk to the marina. Comfortable beds, comfy sofa, well stocked kitchen…really a perfect home. Host was wonderful.

3rd Times a Charm

This was our 3rd annual stay at Timpson Cove Cottage and it never disappoints. The property is stunning (especially in Fall), and the kids love playing in the leaves while my husband and I enjoy reading on the screened in porch. The attention to detail of the provided amenities is unmatched, and we can't wait to book again for next Fall!

Beautiful

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Timpson Cove Cottage! The cottage was beautifully decorated, comfortable, well stocked kitchen and easy to get to. We attended a friend’s wedding while here and the cottage was located close to everything. It’s located near the marina where some friends picked us up on their boat to attend Fridays party. Also, our host, Chad, was easy to get in touch with and super nice. Overall, it was a great stay! Thank you!! go the Fridsys party.

Simply Perfect!

I cannot over state how beautifully curated this property is. The attention to detail is impressive, setting this home above most vacation properties. Our family truly enjoyed staying in as well as going out on the lake (just a hop skip and jump away!). We hope to return again!

Great weekend!

We stayed here the weekend before sending our son to Camp High Harbour. We had a wonderful time. The cottage was clean, spacious and cozy. We had plenty of space for our family of 5 and loved the location. We walked to the marina to rent a boat and walked to the market/ Dive Bar for dinner. We would definitely stay again. The host was very responsive and helpful. We loved it!

Amazing Wedding Weekend

We stayed in this lovely cottage for our daughter’s wedding. There was plenty of room for us all to sleep comfortably and get ready for the festivities. It was very clean and well appointed. Messages with the owners were quickly replied to. I would highly recommend. 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

The Most Special Cottage

The Timpson Cove Cottage was absolutely perfect! This was a very special trip for me and my partner and we actually got married in the yard of this VRBO. It was a private elopement and we couldn't have loved it more. We will definitely be back!

We felt so welcomed

First of all - we were contacted the evening before check-in that the home was clean and ready and we could check-in early - if we'd like. I've been renting VRBOs for a while now and this has never happened! The owners were so personal and accommodating - you can tell they truly want you to enjoy your stay. As soon as we entered the door we felt welcomed. The furnishings and decor looked so inviting! Just what you'd imagine for a mountain - lake cottage. The furniture was very comfortable inside, but we spent most of our time on the screened in porch. Comfy furniture on the porch for lounging and napping! There's a nice tv in living area - plenty of books for reading and games for family game time. The kitchen was very well equipped. There's a dining table inside and one on the screened-in porch as well for outdoor meals. Great place to enjoy coffee in the mornings! The beds were very comfortable! So comfortable - I checked to see what kind of mattress I was sleeping on (master bedroom)! This cottage offers privacy, but is just a short walk to the lake and just a few minutes drive to Clayton where I enjoying shopping! It's a great location! We'd definitely stay here again.

Charming and comfortable cottage, beautifully appointed and fully stocked with all of the necessities and more. Conveniently located - short distance to the marina, quiet walks along Timpson Creek Road and short drive to Clayton. Owners very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

Wonderful family Christmas!

Chad was great throughout the entire process. The cottage was a very special place-room to hang together, an outdoor fire pit and great parking for all family members. We highly recommend this property, and hope to return ourselves to enjoy a different season there!

Both of us grew up spending our summers on lakes (Christie’s family has had a cabin right here on Lake Burton since the 1950s), and we wanted a home that made us feel like we did when we caught our first fish, when we made our first dive, and when we took our first boat ride. We wanted the smell of a grill, the coolness of the mountain air, the sound of a creek, and we wanted a lake tradition we could share with others.

From the get-go, we wanted to provide a lake cabin of old, a place with elements of the past, but obviously modern touches and comforts of the present as well. It’s not a fussy mansion of a house. Rather, it’s a 3-bedroom, 3-bath cottage in the woods, within walking distance to boat and jet-ski rentals, as well as fishing gear, groceries, and even the local bar is within a short walk up Hill Camp Lane.
