Welcome to Le Moulin de Chazotte, a 16th century French watermill offering beautiful, family friendly self-catering holiday accommodation near Cognac, France.

Our four exclusive gîtes are brimming with charm and character whilst offering all the modern comforts and facilities to ensure you have a relaxing and rewarding holiday. All gîtes have their own private terrace and also offer access to 12 acres of grounds and facilities, including the large heated swimming pool.

Located in blissful rural tranquillity within the Poitou-Charente region on the French Atlantic coast, we are only 10 minutes away from historic Cognac and a short drive to the nearest village with that all important local boulangerie. This picturesque region is steeped in Roman and Medieval history and is known for its sleepy villages, Romanesque churches, heritage towns, as well as for the famous and delicious Cognac drink of course.

La Maison de Hibou, translated as "The Owl House" and so named after the magnificent barn owl which was found roosting in the roof beams during the renovation. Split over two floors and with two bedrooms this gite can comfortably accommodate four people.

Le Hibou forms half of the grand, main building which was built in the mid 1890s and adjoins La Principale. This charming gite has many original architectural features, including traditional Charentais roof beams and beautiful exposed stonework. From the master bedroom you look out over the vineyards and from the rear windows, watch the river and its wildlife flow by.
