Great Stay

Very comfortable and well equipped house, set in a village with everything you need - friendly bar, two great restaurants (only steps from the door). Great for exploring the WW2 history and lovely beaches. Hired bikes from Loc and Co in Carentan which was a great experience. Great communication with the owners. Highly recommended.

Band of Brothers House

Such a wonderful property and in such a lovely location. A lovely small village, central location and just moments away from a bar, creperie, boulangerie and bucherie... and of course of historical importance as the first village liberated by US Airbourne troops on D-Day. A small museum in the hall commemorates it's "Band of Brothers" connection. We had a wonderful time in the area and a perfect base.

lovely cottage in St Marie du Mont

We stayed at the Band of Brothers House because we wanted to be near the Normandy beaches. The house was spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms were very good with nice comfy beds. We were disappointed that the DVD player didnt work and neither did the satelite TV. Othwerwise a great stay! Thankyou

The bedrooms were excellent—clean, comfortable, and exactly what you want after a long day. The location on the village square couldn’t be better; you’re right in the middle of everything. The restaurant on the corner is excellent as is the crêperie, and boulangerie up the street.Downstairs was fine, though using the Aga was more of a puzzle than a pleasure. The listing promised a hot tub, but there wasn’t one. Not a big deal, though it should be clarified. The house is actually called Band of Brothers, not Tranquility, and with no exterior photo in the listing, it took longer than expected to track down.Overall, the property delivers. It’s a strong base for the area, but the kitchen equipment needs updating—plates and mugs in particular. A few small fixes would move this from great to exceptional.

Wonderful holiday right in the heart of Utah Beach

The property, Band of Brothers House, was very clean and exactly as described, made even better by photos/pictures relating to Easy Company adorning the wall in the entrance hall. There is every appliance you could need and a vast array of crockery, cutlery and glasses. Thibault was very quick to respond to our queries and was keen to come and meet us but unfortunately we weren’t able to find a mutually convenient time so didn’t get to meet him. Sainte-Marie-du-Mont is a lovely little village but don’t let its size fool you - the main square where the property is located is a hive of activity most days due to the very popular store next door which sells mussels and oysters fresh from Utah Beach. There is also a very nice Creperie next door but one and another restaurant at the end of the road. With two lovely bakeries equidistant from the property in opposite directions (only a couple of minutes walk) you can have fresh bread and pastries daily. The closest supermarket is a short 10 minute drive away in Carentan-les-Marais which also has a Petrol Station attached. All in all a wonderful holiday experience which even the atrocious weather didn’t manage to spoil.

La maison était très bien, bien équipée. Nous étions 6 adultes et l’espace était tout à fait correct sauf p-e la troisième chambre dont le lit est un peu étroit pour 2. Situation agréable au milieu du village. Nous recommandons ce gîte.

Das Haus steht im Zentum von St.-Marie-du-Mont. Das Haus ist im typischen Baustil der Normandie und liebevoll und stilsicher renoviert und eingerichtet. Leider war der Außen- und Gartenbereich vernachlässigt worden. Auch der Innenbereich könnte eine professionelle Grundreinigung vertragen. Trotzdem kann man dort einen wunderschönen und erholsamen Urlaub erleben.

A Nights Stay and Solemn Walk Through History

It's not often you stay in a home so steeped in history. The BoB House is situated in the exact center of St Marie due Mont, the first town liberated by the US Army's Easy Company on June 6th, 1944. Thibault is a great host and the no fuss, no muss check-in process was a pleasant change from some of the tedium we've experienced with other properties. If you want to explore Normandy for a few days the BoB house is the perfect place to stay during your stay.

nice house for History and Beach Fans

We stayed at the house with 2 kids (14 & 17 and two small dogs). It was an ideal location to Utah beach with only 5min drive. The village also has a butcher & Baker & small grocery Shop plus a couple of War Shops. Ideal for visits to Bayeux, Point the Hoc, Omaha beach, D-Day Experience and others. The garden was great and the house had enough space and was tidy, clean and well equipt. We would recommend the house and the village. We had a nice time so thanks to Thibault.

Maison bien équipée, très agréable. Il a fait beau, le petit jardin était vraiment sympa. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut dans le village si on n'a pas envie de traîner dans les linéaires des supermarchés quand on est en vacances...

The loveliest stay!

This lovely home was absolutely everything we had hoped for - and more! The home was extremely comfortable and the kitchen was very well-equipped with anything you might need. The beds were cozy, and we ate dinner each night in the back courtyard. The location was perfect for exploring the D-Day landings and Mont St. Michel. The town of Sainte-Marie-du Mont is rich with history. We highly, highly recommend this home!

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en Normandie dans cette grande maison fonctionnelle, confortable et très propre. Le joli petit jardin est très pratique le soir pour boire un verre et profiter des derniers rayons du soleil d'été. Très bon accueil, nous n'avons manqué de rien. Magali et Thomas.

Eine herrliche Woche in der Normandie

Das Haus ist perfekt für 5 - 6 Erwachsene. Es ist sehr gut ausgestattet, geschmackvoll eingerichtet, hat einen hübsch angelegten Garten und liegt an einem sehr schönen Platz, den man morgens und abends für sich allein hat. Ein Bäcker, eine Creperie, ein Austernladen und ein Restaurant befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft, den Strand erreicht man in zwanzig Minuten mit dem Fahrrad und es gibt viele Ausflugsziele im Umkreis (D-Day, Bayeux, St. Vaast, Barfleur und eine Wattwanderung zum Mont St.Michel). Wir hatten als Familie mit großen Kindern + Hund eine tolle Zeit!
