Fun family vacation
The owners were so responsive, helpful and pleasant, we are happy to give their property a 5 star rating. Their efforts were much appreciated.
The property is a child's dream: trampoline, play structure with 2 slides!, tetherball, basketball hoop, air hockey, fire pit for bonfire and s'mores, exploring around the property. The kids loved it!
We adults appreciated the gourmet kitchen, spacious floorplan and lovely surroundings. I enjoyed relaxing on the patio, soaking in the peaceful view. The men took advantage of the bbq, even rotissering a couple of chickens. We all enjoyed outdoor meals on the patio.
The location was perfect, especially in this time of coronavirus and avoiding crowds as much as possible. Being on 3 private acres made social distancing easy! We hiked the Orilla Trail, a short walk away. Hiking in San Diego Park, a short drive away, was a family favourite. A nice beach that was relatively uncrowded in the morning was a 10 minute drive.
We highly recommend this property and feel the discount we received (because of the virus?) made up for a few less satisfactory issues. Nonetheless, we would be remiss if we didn't provide the owners and incoming renters the following feedback:
- we were surprised that we had to park our cars outdoors as garage access was not provided.
- the master bedroom and bathroom have no window coverings. Eye masks were provided but, not being used to them, we found masks more disruptive than being woken by early morning light..
- although the listing states the master has a walk-in closet, it was closed off and an unsightly garment rack provided.
- one of the bedrooms was particularly sparse, containing only 2 beds, a chest of drawers and another garment rack (the clothes closet was locked). We took 2 side tables from the family room to act as bedside tables.
- a couple of the bedroom doors lock spontaneously. A note to that effect should be provided to incoming renters, along with instructions and a coat hanger to open said locks. It became terrifying to have 2 crying babies locked inside a room it took us over 10 minutes to access.
