Histórico Mataia Homestead

Mataia Homestead es una granja histórica de 125 años ubicada en una combinación única de 1400ha de una granja de ovejas y carne y una reserva natural privada en el hermoso puerto de Kaipara.

El lugar perfecto para familias o grupos que buscan un refugio tranquilo, la granja está situada en aproximadamente 5 acres de jardines, que incluyen un gran huerto productivo de vegetales y hierbas y un huerto de frutas tradicional. Hay una serie de caminatas cortas y largas a través de la reserva de conservación privada de 400 hectáreas que se compone en gran parte del margen del bosque nativo costero y el humedal de marismas. Esta área es un gran lugar para los observadores de aves y cuenta con poblaciones raras de Fernbird, Banded Rail y North Island Brown Kiwi y alberga una gran cantidad de otras especies de aves nativas.
La casa de dos pisos cuenta con 6 dormitorios, dos baños, una sala de biblioteca / televisión, sala de música, comedor y una gran cocina abierta y sala de estar, por lo que es el espacio perfecto para grupos.

La casa está ubicada a 15 minutos del pequeño pueblo de Kaukapapa, y equidistante de tres municipios: Warkworth, Wellsford y Helensville (todo dentro de un viaje de 30 minutos).
Paquetes especiales de paseo también están disponibles bajo petición.

Condiciones especiales:
Se aplica una estancia mínima estándar de 2 noches. Noches individuales disponibles, pero se aplicarán cargos obligatorios por ropa de cama y limpieza a estancias de una noche, dependiendo de los números.

Everything you could wish for!

This homestead is amazing! It was the perfect place for our family of 12. The bedrooms are great and there is plenty of space to hang out together. The kitchen also has all that is needed to feed a large group. The large grounds surrounding the house including the orchard and gardens are also wonderful. For the active ones in the group the walking trails are beautiful. We loved our stay. Jenny the host is easy to communicate with. There was nothing else we could have wished for!

Beautiful house and gardens

Our host ensured the house was warm on arrival by lighting the fire in the light-filled lounge/kitchen. We kept the fire going throughout our stay, and it was lovely to come into the cosy house after exploring the surrounding gardens, or an afternoon enjoying the autumn sunshine on the deck. We'd all recommend this place for a weekend stay.

The Magic of the Mataia Homestead

There really are no words to describe the magical portal that you step into at the Mataia Homestead. It is a true gem. We absolutely loved our stay and the opportunity to feel so relaxed from the moment we stepped through the doors. The lit fire place and the beautiful surrounding truly are breathtaking. We all slept well in our beds and enjoyed taking time to prepare food in the kitchen and being seated together at the dinning room table. The perfect place for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle. Can't wait to be back!!!!

Rolling hills & coastal paths

A group of 8 adults attending a family wedding at Waterfall Farm - we were blown away by the enchanting garden and grounds. The Mataia homestead was completely lovely too - superb period details combined with modern kitchen and bathrooms. The bedrooms and beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed taking a hike to the quarry and back along the coast path - it was warm and sunny so we felt we had earned the cold beer at the end of the day! Idyllic little haven

The Mataia Homestead is your little haven away from home. As soon as you arrive your shoulders relax and you feel completely at peace. The grounds are so beautiful, with so many nook and crannies to enjoy the beauty of nature. The Homestead is the perfect touch of history with some modern touches. The energy of the homestead is tranquil and one of pure relaxation. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms have such beautiful products to use in them also. The beds are super comfy and the rooms have closets with hangers and draws so you can make yourself well and truly at home. We honestly didn't want to leave!! Thank you for creating such a beautiful peace of heaven on Earth. Will be back again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful rural property

We had an excellent experience at Mataia Homestead. A spacious and beautiful historic home set in a wonderful big garden. The children/teens loved exploring and playing outside whilst the adults enjoyed relaxing on the sunny deck. Highly recommend for a rural retreat!

A beautiful place to stay

This historical farm is a very nice place to stay. It was maintained well and the owners did an amazing job in preserving and presenting its history. My only recommendation is to better clean the not-obvious-places,. such as under the door rails - we had my toddler with us and she was very interested in those areas, which meant we couldn't let her run free in the house for pretty much the entire travel.

Heaven in Mataia

This is the second time we've stayed here. We loved it so much the first time we had to go back for more. Approaching the house for the second time we were overwhelmed by its beauty. The garden was more beautiful than last time and the homestead has been freshly painted and gorgeously decorated. We had a magical stay for 5 nights.

Historical homestead

The mataia homestead was a great place for us to stay as a family to attend a wedding in Kumeu, the house was just what we needed and had everything available to us. I would highly recommend this house as accommodation when looking for home stays in this area.

Perfect for a getaway!

The first impression upon arriving was ... wow. The property looked stunning - the gardens were beautiful in summer, and the property had a good mix of up to date furniture, plus a touch of historical decor. It was amazing to see the wealth of information available on the family that has owned this property for 7 generations. The communication with Jenny the property owner beforehand was quick, responsive and friendly - we were also very impressed by the comfort of the property and the facilities provided i.e. kitchen utensils, equipment etc. The garden was also very useful, and the multiple outdoor seating areas was very valuable. Our team had lots of fun, and really valued the quiet, relaxed and refreshing atmosphere - it was a nice break from the city.

Wonderful heritage house and garden

This extensively renovated 100 year old homestead was perfect for our extended family visit. It accommodated 11 without seeming over crowded. The house was beautifully dressed and scrupulously clean with very nice toiletries, a well equipped kitchen and gorgeous gardens. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property.

A Recipe For Grumpiness

6 past their prime male moaners choose a place to meet every few months in different parts of the country. This was easily the most well appointed delightful place we have hired to date. House is totally self contained and lovely. The grounds had an envious rural member waxing lyrical as were we all. Highly recommended
