We used the property as a site for a photo & film shoot. Our stay here was amazing and the whole Above team was incredibly communicative and resourceful. I'd be honored to be hosted by them again.

The rustic retreat property is a nice getaway in a beautiful location. The property has some lovely amenities including a pool, hot tub, pond, view of the river, and really nice screened in back porch. The main house has a master bedroom, 2 queen bedrooms, and a bunk room that is spacious. The cabin is a bit of a walk away and has a queen bedroom and a bunk room upstairs in an attic type of space. The house manager greeted us when we arrived, came during the stay for a check in, and came for a walk through when we departed. The reasons I did not provide a 5 star review were that there was no working air conditioning on half of the main house through the duration of the stay and there were odor issues. Without AC we were definitely sweating and it was uncomfortable to sleep. The house manager put in one portable AC but it could not adequately cool the space. The main bedroom also smelled very strong of dogs. While it appeared clean and the sheets smelled fresh, the dog odor was really very strong. At this price point I would expect this to not be a concern. Overall we had a good stay, but at the height of summer no AC was problematic.

Great private location

Great location for a large group work retreat- plenty of comfortable gathering space for meetings and discussions. Beautiful scenery and private but accessible location.

Grandmas 80th birthday party

Friends and family from all over the world came together for grandmas 80th birthday celebration. From the pictures on VRBO we made some assumptions that were not at all accurate. We thought the cabin was going to be a kids hang out. Turns out, the cabin is a drive away from the main house. It’s not just a walk away. We thought everything that was pictured was included. It is not. The ATVs, the green egg and a couple other things are off limits to guests. We asked if the extra beds could be set up in the barn- as long as the barn is air conditioned and I was told yes it is air conditioned. However, no. The barn does not have AC. So the extra beds were set up in the bunkhouse. Since I planned this, I had an idea in my mind of where everyone was sleeping, but we ended up getting it worked out. The house was very clean and very well decorated. It is a very comfortable place. The thing I really had a hard time overcoming was the refrigerator situation. The house is owner occupied so their refrigerator was full of their stuff. But we had it for 3 days and 20 people. We had to store our food items in the barn refrigerator and go back and forth to get stuff. That was very inconvenient. The tiles around the pool get hot as all get out. Luckily we brought a shade tent that we used at the pool. We adapted and moved on and had a great time. Angela was really nice and phelpful. The house is beautiful and relaxing. I would book this again, I do recommend!

Spacious property in a beautiful setting, yet rustic

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we enjoyed the property in large part because it suited the size of our group and the property offered some amazing views and space to enjoy the outdoors. We had about 20 people for a 50th birthday party. We were able to relax and spread out in the sitting areas and the bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed. The pool and the hot tub with absolutely majestic views were a highlight for me and many of our guests. A staff member came each day to visit the house, and Kira, one of the two, was kind and helpful.We did have some issues. Our guests were spread out between the house and the cabin. The cabin is about a quarter-mile walk from the house, which we couldn't tell from the listing. The guests in the cabin were really shut out from the group gatherings in many ways, especially in the evening when it was pitch dark outside as there wasn't much outdoor light. The cabin also had a mouse problem, and we saw mice and several traps, including one that appeared to have some "leftovers" in it. Our guests found mouse droppings in and around the beds upstairs. I brought this up to the management company and was reminded that the property, especially the cabin, was indeed noted as "rustic." Our plan for the birthday was to make a formal dinner for our guests and we found the kitchen to be missing some key supplies that one would expect at a property like this, such as Tupperware, complete measuring cup set, grater, a full set of coffee mugs, etc. If you're just doing takeout or pizza, probably not an issue. Just be aware and plan to bring supplies if you're doing something more elaborate or ask in advance. We often found out something wasn't there right when we needed it. We also could have used some more on-site information, such as how to turn on certain features like the porch heaters and the location of things, including where to access trails and hike (especially when the neighbor's signs make it clear they will shoot you if you step on
