A great place to stay, unique in design, now upgraded with many new conveniences. The location is ideal, close to the beach and Oakura, yet peaceful, quiet and away from the crowds. Beautiful views of the ocean and the mountain. Hosts were excellent, friendly and helpful.One of the absolute top finds in Taranaki, after having experienced many locations on the region. Would easily recommend booking here.

We had the most wonderful, much-needed break here, so peaceful and relaxing. The property had everything we needed and more, and it was perfectly located just up the road from the beach and not too far from New Plymouth township.It was an ideal spot for our grumpy fur baby who had a sore leg, safe, secure, and perfect for her to rest comfortably. Mike was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be back again.

Weekend away in Oakura

Did not know what to expect from Taranaki, but, upon arriving, it was impossible not to unwind. The scenery from the bach is awesome, sea, mountain and farmland. The hosts were great, and able to advise places to visit nearby and were kind enough to lend us some paddling gear for the river at the beach to play around in. Mike the host was a very interesting fellow who offered me the most wonderful advice on life, truly inspirational. The accommodation was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A piece of heaven on earth

Immaculate set up for adventure and relaxation. Accommodation was squeaky clean and comfortable. Surrounds painfully beautiful - ocean and undulating hills on one side and lush green mountains on the other side. Morning coffee on the deck sets you up for the day. Comfortable beds, luxurious bedding. Loved using eco friendly products in the kitchen and the bathroom. Mike made us feel welcome, was very attentive and went out of his way to explain, advice and help out. We would love to come again!

Now that's what I call a good holiday!

Our stay at this cozy holiday space was a delightful experience. The comfortable and spacious cabin offered a lovely view and peaceful surroundings. After long days of exploring, the jacuzzi was the perfect way to unwind. The location was ideal, with easy access to nearby towns like New Plymouth and Stratford. Yet, when we returned at night, we enjoyed the tranquillity and quiet of the countryside. Each morning, we were greeted by the cheerful sounds of birdsong and the friendly faces of Max, the dog, and his feathered companions. My daughter especially loved the furry and feathered friends. Mike, our welcoming host, made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We cherished the evenings by the fire, the peaceful atmosphere, and the opportunity to fully recharge. After a week of relaxation, we felt refreshed and ready for new adventures!

Even though we didn’t get to stay the full 2 nights, as we had to go back home for sick kids, we enjoyed our night, was peaceful and beautiful. We didn’t get to meet Mike, but Ingrid you were so lovely to meet and loved our little goodies! Really appreciate everything! We hope to see you both in the near future!

Lovely farm stay

We spent 2 nights in this amazing farm house. We really enjoyed staying here despite of the gloomy weather. The view is just spectacular- you have both worlds, 1 with the ocean and the other side with the mountain. Our dog Yumi loves the big space playing with her friend dog Max and with the horses, cow and chicken. The house is very clean and spacious and has a warm character to it. It is a walking distance to the beach. I really like it even if it's a 20 minute drive from New Plymouth coz its kind of in between other attractions and near the national park. Mike is a great host and very friendly. We simply love staying at the Saltwater stables and will definitely come back and refer this to family and friends.

Totally lovely stay

A gorgeous place tastefully decorated in a beautiful location with friendly and helpful hosts. A real joy to stay and made so welcome and lovely horses and Max (their dog) was really good with our dogs. Really recommend Saltwater Stables and look forward to a return visit one day. Great weekend holiday!

Nice and clean private bnb. The owners are very welcoming. The house was exceptionally clean. The view is such a bonus. Not far from the beach. We enjoyed the walk and a little bit of fishing on the side. Thanks Mike and Ingride for letting us take Max out for a walk. Our tokēna enjoyed his company. Will definitely come back.

Fantastic place to relax, amazing views, great location.

Really enjoyed our stay, wished we could have stayed longer. First holiday we had taken our dogs on. We wore them out at the beach each day. We use to live in Taranaki and this was close enough for friends to come out and visit, close enough to get anything we needed. Thanks Mike and Ingrid.

Amazing accommodation. Beautiful outlook in a wonderful part of the country. Friendly owners. Good phone and 3G reception but no wifi which is a great thing for a holiday. Very relaxing and beautifully set up and decorated. I will definitely be back
