Here is the reason for the poor review. We arrived and there were hundreds of fruit flies in the kitchen. One of the adults drove to the local store and purchased 10 fruit fly traps. We placed them in the kitchen area, but this did little. I contacted the Homeowner, who suggested I go to the store and purchase the fruit fly traps. I explained we already did that, and he then stated we should keep the front door shut. He never offered to reimburse for the traps, nor did he offer an exterminator. The problem became worse when we discovered the one bathroom was infested with drain flies, resulting in that bathroom not being used. As the Homeowner did not want to send an exterminator, we had to cover our food and the food of the grandkids with paper plates to cover the food after each bite. This was every meal, so you can appreciate what a hassle it was for everyone. Several meals were eaten on the porch to get away from the bugs, but that left us dealing with the heat. A glass of wine attracted them in significant numbers, and several times the wine was thrown out.The kids left food out as they were always rushing to do something. All of this food was thrown out as the flies were all over it. It seems to be a money-saving issue, but if you want people to rent your property and return in the future, repair the issues. The bug issue was absurd, and the owner’s unwillingness to do anything other than tell us to keep the front door closed is abominable. Pics attached.

Beautiful Home That's Good but Could be GREAT!

PROS:*Amazing location with easy walkability to the beach access areas AND a delicious restaurant*Well-appointed kitchen that offers everything you can think of to cook a basic or a fancy meal. Coffee bar offers both a regular coffee maker and a Keurig that even does iced drinks!*Lots of beach equipment and towels (no running to the drugstore for beach chairs)*The country club amenities visitors have access to, and the club restaurant are top notch*Cesar is very responsive to questions/concerns and readily offered solutions CONS:*The cleaning crew lacks attention to detail & is not doing what Cesar pays for. Floors under the beds/dressers & furniture were filthy and had food/previous tenant items underneath. Baseboards were dusty/needed attention. Water bottles/cups were left on the dressers. Burned out lightbulbs in bathrooms. Comforter "inserts" were used without duvets so stains were visible. The white furniture in the living room had stains on it that needed to be cleaned.*We were left one set of towels per bathroom (not per person) which Cesar quickly rectified.*The bottom rack of the dishwasher lacked wheels so we had to pay attention to the placement of dishes to make sure they got clean.*The bedrooms and bathrooms need hooks installed to hang towels and hold wet swimsuits. (There are no towel bars or rings in the house.) A few bedrooms do not have closets, so hooks would be helpful.Would I stay here again? YES, if the cleaning crew did a better job!

Family Beach Week

Great location! Made use of the private beach for evening walks and public beach for swimming. Access to the Bay Creek swimming pool was wonderful! Enjoyed renting bikes to cruise around the neighborhood and ride into town. Layout of house was good for large group with multiple families, although inadequate seating in the living room with only 5 places to sit for our 9 adults and 5 kids, and dining room table seats only 8. These deficiencies however were evident in the photos and we made it work. Plenty of beds and bathrooms and well-stocked kitchen. 2nd floor bedroom was hot and difficult to cool. The microwave and the oven had not been cleaned prior to our arrival and the furniture in the living room and dining room were heavily soiled. All the bathrooms were very nice but lacked towel racks. The balcony with the swing and rocking chairs was so enjoyable! Having 3 trash receptacles instead of 2 would prevent overflow of trash bags on the lawn. Good communication with Cesar.

Nice house

We had a great time. We did realize the pool was a 15 minute drive. The house is very spacious but it could use a few minor repairs. The owner is very responsive!

This home was perfect for our group of friends for Thanksgiving; an en-suite for everyone, a nicely stocked kitchen and plenty of space. We enjoyed exploring Cape Charles.

A birthday celebration weekend

My family and a few friends stayed and we enjoyed the house. It was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable. The location had beautiful views and the balcony was a great place to sit and enjoy. The bedrooms were a nice size and it was great to have so many bathrooms. The living room and the dining room allowed enough space for us to be able to gather and interact. I love that there were fishing rods available and we did use them. The extra refrigerator in the garage definitely came in handy. When we had questions, Cesar was always responsive. When we first saw the house online we were impressed and when we arrived we were not disappointed. I love that we were able to see the amazing sunsets by walking a few steps to the beach. Our extended weekend there was great and we all agreed that we would stay there again.

Great location

Check in very easy, and owner was responsive however it appears the cleaning person hasn’t been there in a while, lots of cobwebs/flies in home. It’s a beautiful area, as is the home, but is need of some maintenance repairs primarily leaking faucets, showers, and water dripping from ceiling from upstairs shower , and had an outside faucet that wouldn’t shut off. Plenary of room for a large group of people

Enjoyed our stay at Cape Charles

Cape Charles is an amazing place to visit. There were many things we loved about the house and its location but I would warn anyone who has several families going together, that there is only one fob to get you in the gate for the community. That meant someone had to go to the gate to let others in unless all your families do everything together. If you have kids or teens or other families who rent golf carts and want to do their own thing, this creates a huge inconvenience because only one person can have a fob.

Nice and as described.

Communication was good, quick and easy. There were some things that needed to be addressed and I have spoken to the owner. All is good with that. We would stay again! Nice, clean with beautiful views!

Amazing home

We had such an amazing stay, and a gorgeous home! Everything worked out so well, especially having a short walk to the c pier! The housekeeper was awesome too! Loved the master suite, the upstairs living room, the huge bathroom and the sun deck. We had everything we needed and made use of the little things there for everyone — beach chairs etc. The home owner was wonderful to work with and communication was smooth. Our parents, brothers and their wives, and three kids had the space we needed and everyone was comfortable! We will never forget this experience and the hospitality! One of the most gorgeous homes I’ve ever stayed in.

Great house, perfect for large family!

House is beautifully decorated. Very close to the beach - public access is just five houses down. Beach area was so quiet and private, we never had company. We rented bikes and a kayak from Poseidon, highly recommend - they are awesome. Did not use the canoe that came with the house since it was buried in the backyard. The porch is awesome, has a lovely swing and looks out to the water. There are also a few rocking chairs that make it a great place to hang out! House comes with all linens including beach towels plus most bathrooms had hand soaps and shampoo/conditioner which was awesome!!! The kitchen has a lot in it but there were some basics missing. We messaged the host and the next day his cleaning lady dropped everything off. That would have been fantastic if she hadn’t delivered it with rudeness and a major attitude. Hopefully that is addressed before the next guests stay! There are no laundry baskets, BYO if you plan to do laundry. There are a bunch of beach chairs, sand toys, and balls. We brought most of our own but knowing what’s there I would have packed less!

A great stay!

My family and I traveled to Cape Charles over the Fourth of July and had a really great stay! The location of the property is awesome - the gated neighborhood is pretty quiet and great for walking or running in the mornings. It's a short golf cart drive away from the public access beach. The house is lovely! Very much like the pictures show. There are some areas and some furniture that are showing some wear, but all in all, it's a really good layout and an impressive home! The beds and linens are SO COMFY, and the sheets and towels were very clean! My only wish is that there was more hand soaps in the bathrooms when we arrived, though this wasn't something we brought up to the owner because we ended up just grabbing some at the local grocery store. Some did get dropped off inside the home on our second day, though we found it a little odd the owner/property manager didn't let us know someone was stopping by. All in all, it was an awesome stay at this house, and we want to thank the owner so much for letting us use their home for a much-needed family getaway! I definitely recommend the property for the location, layout, and cleanliness/comfort of the bedrooms!

Beautiful Beach House

The house has a nice layout, and is equipped with modern amenities. Location is very near the water with some views. It was a bonus to have beach chairs (in great shape!) and beach towels included.
