Island Oasis

Its a lovely quiet part of Waiheke, with the property just a few metres from the beach. Place has everything you need, encircled by trees and birds. Its a lovely relaxing place, close to bus stop and with good walks nearby. Love to come again!

Fantastic natural setting

We really enjoyed our stay at Gull Cottage. This traditional kiwi bach provided us with peace and quiet and a relaxing setting. We appreciated the nature that surrounded us and particularly the bird life. Beautiful sunsets. Tranquil harbour.

Gull cottage

Lovely place to stay ,quiet with the water right there for you too cool down if you like ..not too far from shopping if you have a car but bus wasnt too far away anyway ...no washing machine but understandable being on tank water not hard to go to the laudramat ...maybe bring your own fan cause its hot in summer..nice little view of the bay ..good communication with the host ..wpuld stay again...

Good location and well equiped

The Bach is well equiped for self catering, overlooking Rocky Bay. But the cleanliness was poor, extenuating the rather drab and cheerless rooms. Everything is functional, but old and tired. After some cleaning and flowers, we made it acceptable for our stay. The saving grace is that the location is ideal for bush walks and socialising with the friendly locals. The islands winery’s are near by, as is shopping.

Relaxing

Very relaxing. Busing was easy. Taxi out to dinner was easy. Local hall provided a beautiful breakfast for Sunday morning. Cooking for ourselves that night was not so easy. We hadn’t realised the only staples provided were salt and pepper. However we figured out the oven and all was good. Having no local shop in walking distance requires a bit more planning than we are use to. Would stay again .

Perfect for our stay

Comprehensive information provided and excellent communication from David. Check in was easy via lockbox. The cottage was clean and perfect for my partner and I. Bonus for us was that it was right by the ocean and on the bus route, which was great since we needed it to get around. Also had an iron which was very handy. Thanks very much for having us, would definitely stay again.

Everything you could want!

Love Gull Cottage. It is everything Rocky Bay is about - bach life - view of the sea - walk over in your togs. Home made baking and strong coffee from hall. Perfect escape for us! Thanks David for our late check out and ease of your gorgeous bach.

lovely quiet and relaxing bach in a stunning location

Property was great - could've just done with a dust and removal of cobwebs - otherwise tidy and well mantained Owner was very considerate and helpful Only concern is Home and Away booking system, charges, and overall complicating an otherwise simple process. Haven't used bookabach website for a while due to total dislike since home and away took over - staying at Davids bach made us remember why we used to like using bookabach and how good liaising with the owner is, and how simple it used to be.

Very nice private spot.

David & Barbara were very nice to deal with. Very accommodating with Ferry times. Cottage was pleasant & all you need for 2 people. Take your car if you can. There is so much of Waiheke to see with Vineyards & beaches.

Charming- basic but bright and filled with the sound of the sea just metres away.

Perfect for a couple of lazy days in our favourite part of Waiheke. Private and quiet. Clean and ready for us with nice linen and plenty of towels. Owners quickly answered our queries.

Great cottage with amazing views!

Great cottage with amazing views! The cottage had everything we wanted for a relaxing weekend on Waiheke. It's proximity to the water, parks, and wineries was very convient for a hiking/wine tasting trip. We would definitely stay again.

What a fantastic get away.

What a fantastic get away. Quiet, very close to the beach and surrounded by wonderful natives full of bird life. Cottage was clean and neat as a pin, cosy and very comfortable. Does not lack for anything. Will definitely be coming back and recommending to others. Thank you for an awesome three night stay :)

Perfect for a couple get away.

Perfect for a couple get away. Very clean and comfortable. Superb location in beaut Rocky Bay. Everything we needed in accomodation to cook with. A very cute and cosy cottage with a sea view. Would recommend and would love to stay again.
