Welcome to Breathe Easy, our 1936 cottage in Water Valley, AB, where rolling plains meet the Rockies. Perfect for unplugging, recharging, & reconnecting with nature & loved ones. Near Winchell Lake, our cottage is ideal for nature lovers. Enjoy wildlife, romantic moments, or quality family time. Unwind with a sauna, enjoy a fire & stargaze.
Explore Crown Land for hiking & biking. Enjoy a round of golf or a night at the Saloon. Create lasting memories at Breathe Easy-your sanctuary in nature.
Our Cozy cottage provides an open kitchen and living area flooded with natural light. Start your mornings soaking up the sunshine in our spacious sunroom overlooking the property and bird sanctuary, or sip your morning coffee on the wrap-around deck as the sun rises. In the evening unwind with a sauna session, roast marshmallows by the outdoor firepit, and gaze at the stars, creating cherished memories under the night sky.
Enjoy the convenience of a washer and dryer, a well-equipped kitchen for cooking and baking, and a BBQ for outdoor grilling. Retreat to the master loft to a comfortable queen bed, while the second bedroom offers a double bed and a trundle bed that can pull out into 2 twins / king, ideal for a cozy kid friendly slumber party. Indulge in a bubble bath in the clawfoot tub, serenaded by the tranquil sounds of nature.

Please note:
The walkout basement is not accessible as it is used for storage and the garage is off-limits to guests.
Parking:
There is room for three vehicles on the gravel drive.
Please note that we do not accommodate parking outside our property or on the grass area around the cottage.

We are a family who live in the trees next door. We raised our two boys here in Water Valley, watching them grow from toddlers to teens in the blink of an eye. Life moves fast, and it’s the precious moments that matter. We believe in taking a pause to notice the little things, to be present, to breathe deeply, to laugh, to play, and to connect with nature.
Together with our parents, Jerry and Linda Napier, we brought this cozy cottage in the woods back to life. Quiet country living has been their lifestyle for many years. On their small farm in Grande Prairie, Alberta, they’ve come to appreciate the solitude, peacefulness, and the close-to-nature feeling that the trees and wildlife bring daily.

As your host, I’m Wendi, an interior designer with a passion for creating spaces that promote healing and relaxation. I find joy in making the cottage feel like a welcoming sanctuary, where every detail enhances your experience. Whether you’re here for adventure or relaxation, I want you to feel restored. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, yoga, energy work and snowboarding in the mountains with my husband John, and teenage boys. We are always happy to share tips for local activities or favorite spots.
