Escape to this gorgeous cottage nestled amidst a former vineyard's rolling lawns and gardens, with dreamy ocean views to Bruny Island forming its romantic backdrop. Wonderfully secluded and private, it is nestled by the seaside village of Kettering, harbouring the Bruny Island ferry and renowned for its fresh produce, seafood and local eateries.
The Studio at ‘Herons Vineyard’ is the ideal sanctuary for a romantic escape. One of three secluded residences hidden amid the 12-acre ‘Herons Vineyard’ estate, this enchanting cottage wrapped in blossoming gardens looks as if it’s leapt straight out of a fairy-tale movie set.

Step inside and feel the country warmth with timber panelled beamed ceilings hovering over the open plan living area with a lounge, coffee table and TV all huddled around a cosy, slow-combustion fireplace. There’s a modern kitchen with all the essentials, along with a three-seater table catering to meals at home. Multiple windows drench the space in natural light and highlight views across the rolling lawns and vineyard gardens out to the ocean and Bruny Island.

The spacious bedroom area is partitioned by a half-wall and decked out with timber floorboards. It houses an elegant queen bed along with a modern ensuite, offers a walk-in glass shower and all the essentials.

During the warmer months, there are Tiger snakes around so please wear closed shoes when walking about the property! We have several beehives and a small duck pond that is not enclosed. There is also a creek which borders the property. Guests with children should not allow them to wander the property unaccompanied.
During your stay, you and your group will have the entire studio cottage to yourselves. Please make yourselves at home!

Just 30 minutes from Hobart, Herons Vineyard is a tranquil escape nestled 1.5km from the charming seaside village of Kettering. Kettering not only serves as the gateway to Bruny Island with its ferry service but is a delightful destination in itself.

At the end of Ferry Road, savor a fabulous brew at Bruny Island Gateway Cafe, which transforms into an Asian Fusion restaurant in the evenings (4-9pm), or try the roving pizza van on Friday and Saturday nights—highly recommended!

The Bruny Island ferry departs regularly from early morning until late evening, taking about 20 minutes to reach its destination. Bruny Island is famous for its cheeses, wine, whiskey, seafood, untouched scenery, stunning coastline, native wildlife, including an albino wallaby, and seals—a must-do day trip in Tasmania.

Kingston Beach, just 20 minutes away, offers a great selection of eateries and shopping, making it an ideal spot for a beachside lunch or ice cream.

For a scenic drive, explore the southern coastline and visit the Woodbridge Emporium for delicious cakes and lunches. Continue to Peppermint Bay, Grandvewe Cheeses for sheep’s milk cheese and spirits, and enjoy free cheese tastings and coffee with magical views. Just a few minutes further, Five Bob Farm features a 3km sculpture trail.

As a base, Herons Vineyard is also perfectly situated for a short 40-minute drive to the Huon Valley, known for its renowned wineries, fresh produce, and breathtaking scenery.
