Great spot to stay in Grafton!

I took my grandma to Grafton for the night and we had such a great time! Everything was in walking distance from our place and we even enjoyed a live band happening next door from our deck! The home was clean and had everything we needed. I definitely recommend this place to others for their visit in Grafton!

Great Location

The location was amazing, the deck needed cleaning but we were able to find a broom and clean it. There is no stove so cooking is not an option.

Cute getaway

The house is in a perfect location. Easy check in process, great communication. Super close to the music and restaurants. Nice porch to relax and listen to music. We will definitely be back.

Night away

Location was great. Bed needs replaced, lock was tricky, but the only real downfall was the bathroom. No trash can and the shower needs replaced badly. For one shower it was fine.

Property was nice. It was a little stressful that the host didn’t communicate very much without me begging for her to answer my questions. Bottles of water would have been nice also.

Unkept- dusty ,cleaning rags left behind,etc.

Just generally unkept, hot and not very inviting. Were only there long enough to make arrangments elsewhere. Not VRBO quality.Not happy at all. Would like some reimbursement if possible. If not, guess we will chalk it up to experince and move on.

Great location

The location was awesome. We were really disappointed with the cleanliness of the house and porch. The floors hadn’t been mopped. There was dirt and sticky stuff on floors. In the bathroom there was thick dust all around the baseboards. When we went to take a shower the container of shampoo ,body wash and conditioner were caked brown in the containers. On the deck there were baskets of dead flowers lined up next to railing. There were acorns all over deck. We had to sweep them up so we didn’t twist our ankles. There was a bucket of dragnet water catching rain frim roof. The patio furniture was so dirty that we had to clean them before we sat down. We loved the location but we paid $600 for 2 nights and I think it was way too much for the condition of the house.

The grafton scary house

Family of host were watching us enter property at the grafton pub. We were unable to get the door open because apperently it sticks. I asked the host to call us, instead this random man came and said “my girlfriend owns the place” and he knew how to open the door. He typed in the code & then jiggled the handle & door and then got us in. Then I received a call from the host asking if we got in okay. Which is super confusing and also kind of scary a group of men and women knew the code? We had no idea who any of these people were. The people at the winery on the balcony were yelling & harrassing us before we even got in the door. The bathroom’s shower curtain was torn off, there was toilet paper thrown all over the bathroom, looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. There was tons of debris all over the deck. The price they ask for this place is embarrassing for what they offer. Safety is questionable here. Also the men called all of us fat, and said we had too many people here because we were fat. Received a lot of verbal harassment from “the owners” we had like 8 people come up to us telling us they owned the property.

The Beach House a MUST AVOID property

Yesterday at approximately 4:10 we arrived at our rental for the evening. I was given the code a few minutes after 4. When the code didn't work, I contacted the owner. In the meantime, my husband went to the side sliding door which he found to be wide open. This was our first RED flag! We reluctantly went in and thankfully didn't have anyone lurking inside. A few mins later the owner arrived and showed me the trick to get in with the code in which you have to hold the door in and then do the code another RED flag. We told him the sliding glass door was open and he said, "oh yes the lock is broken, you will have to use the shower curtain rod laying on the floor to lock it". Third RED flag. He looked at the patio, which was a mess and covered with debris from not being cleaning all winter, he said he would be back in the morning to clean fourth RED flag as we were scheduled to leave the next morning. Upon entering the house, we noticed the floors were unlevel by several inches. The refrigerator was on some type of wooden blocks in an attempt to make it level. Kitchen sink was dirty as was the entire house When I tried to open the refrigerator, it rocked and came off one side of the blocks, too many RED flags now to count now. Upon inspection of the living area, we found bugs and dirt on the floor there was also a window air conditioner in the corner of one room. We decided within 30 minutes we couldn't stay there and feel safe or clean. We packed up what we had brought in.

Great Location for Night Life

A few little hiccups to start off but Nancy worked with us to resolve. This beach house is right in the middle of everything we go to Grafton to experience. Good food, drinks, and music and close to all the shops. The side porch was a little messy but could have just been the change from summer to fall with plants and furniture a mess. Didn't really impact the trip we just moved things around and used the hose to spray it down for a nice evening cocktail and morning coffee. Overall it's a bit rustic so the name beach house fits and the location is right on the river.

Great location but could have been cleaner.

Overall it was nice, could have been cleaner, needed vacuuming, shelf in kitchen broke, was being held by tape. Patio furniture was dirty and needed to be wiped down. Owner was responsive and easy to talk to and appreciated the feedback. Didn’t appreciate cleaning person (relative) that came to room unannounced, and entered without knocking and was very rude. Again, owner apologized and was very apologetic.

Location saves this place

We were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival to discover that The Beach House is within walking distance to most of the bars and restaurants in Grafton. However, this is kind of where the good ends. This property *is* fairly spacious, but rather uncomfortable on the whole. Both beds were very worn and both of us kept rolling to the middle through the night. The “lounge” seating (couches, chairs, etc) was anything but relaxing, with one loveseat and the rest of the furniture being outdoor/patio furniture. Definitely not what we wanted to come back to after a hot and fun day out in Grafton. The house was mostly clean when we checked in, apart from some very old bar soap (as the hand washing option) in the bathroom and small bugs around the windows throughout the house. There were random cleaning supplies, old blinds and an empty laundry basket in the corner of the kitchen. The side deck was nice to sit on, but also kind of a mess. None of this affected us or our stay, I suppose I just expected a little more attention to detail. Aesthetically, most of the house follows the “beach house” theme, but quite a bit of the decor seemed haphazard and kind of thrown together. Again, not affecting the quality of our stay, but weird, nonetheless. The communication with the host was virtually non existent once we arrived. I had a few questions at different times about the property and amenities. She responded once and then never again. Not sure if the listing stated that there would be bikes available at this property, but the house itself has signs that make one believe so. Never heard back from the host on that, so that was a bummer. Overall, an okay stay, perfect location. Definitely not appropriate for 5 people as listed. Would not stay again, probably wouldn’t recommend.

Perfect location.

After a little hiccup with check in communication the rest of our stay worked out perfectly. Everything is within walking distance, which was what I was looking for. Since there isn't a stove we stopped and loaded up on pastries at Duke Bakery in Alton for breakfast. I definitely recommend it! Restaurant options for breakfast are very limited.
