The Deluxe Apartment Suite features a private entrance; a king-size bed with sitting area in the master bedroom; a private bathroom with shower and sauna; an art gallery; laundry facilities; and a large living/dining/kitchen space with fireplace and queen-size sofa bed. Walk out to the yard, gardens and patio overlooking the Kalamazoo River and lush natural landscape. Bring your fishing gear. Luxury and hospitality await you.

The Property
A warm attitude of hospitality welcomes you to Taste on the Lakeshore. The property features a private dock with FREE use of canoes and kayaks, fishing on the Kalamazoo River, large fire pit on the patio, and herb and flower gardens to enjoy. Our facilities are arranged for a romantic stay.
• Free on-site parking.
• Coffee, tea and snacks are available in the 24-hour Guest Pantry.
• Price includes a Full English breakfast. Complimentary wine and snacks are available in the late afternoon.
• Laundry available.
• Not suitable for children under 12.

Guest Access
The Deluxe Apartment Suite requires mobility up and down one flight of stairs. Direct access to the patio, fire pit and dock is just steps from your own private entrance.
Minimum Stay
The Deluxe Apartment requires a three-day minimum stay booking.
During Your Stay
Dennis and Jim live on the property in the Owners’ Suite and are available and willing to assist with itineraries, local information, and other recommendations. Each suite in Taste on the Lakeshore has a complete Guest’s Guidebook to the community and surrounding areas. Both owners have distinguished backgrounds in the hospitality industry, culinary arts, and higher education. They look forward to helping you create lasting memories of Western Michigan while respecting your need for privacy.

Beautiful property and wonderful hosts!

We had a great stay. Dennis and Jim were wonderful hosts, and had great suggestions for things to do around town. They made us a delicious breakfast each morning and made us feel right at home!

Lovely Michigan Vacation

We had a fantastic stay at Taste on the Lakeshore! The home was absolutely beautiful, immaculately kept, and filled with thoughtful touches that made it feel welcoming and relaxing from the moment we arrived. Dennis and Jim were wonderful hosts—warm, attentive, and full of great recommendations for places to explore in Michigan.Each morning started with a delicious homemade breakfast, and we loved having such a peaceful, comfortable base close to so many local hot spots. Whether we were heading out to explore or just unwinding in the backyard by the firepit overlooking the river, it was the perfect mix of adventure and serenity. We would absolutely stay here again!

Tulip Road Trip

The house is beautiful, the grounds are beautiful and the breakfasts are delicious. The hosts are great, offer suggestions if you need places to go and very accommodating. They made our stay very pleasant. Even put on a last minute Derby party for the guests. Highly recommend.

Wonderful stay, highly recommend.

Thank you to Dennis and Jim for a lovely 3-night stay in their beautiful home. Breakfasts were expertly prepared, happy hours were filled with good conversation and laughter. The property is located along the Kalamazoo River and we saw a spectacular sunrise on the water's edge. This home is well-designed for guests and everyone has their privacy. We highly recommend a few days as guests of Dennis and Jim.

Top drawer experience all the way!

You couldn’t ask for better hosts or a more Mbeautiful venue. As we told them, Jim and Dennis could teach a masters class in hospitality. From the gourmet breakfast every morning, to the happy hour chance to enjoy time with the other guests, to the wonderful, art work adorned suites, our every desire was met and mexceeded. Anyone who stays here is in for a treat!

The Perfect Getaway

We enjoyed our short stay at Taste on the Lakeshore more than words can say. Dennis, Jim, and Rudy were perfect hosts and have created a warm, relaxing retreat considering every detail. The Apartment Suite was gorgeous and so luxurious, while at the same time full of the comforts of home. We loved starting each day with Dennis’ amazing breakfasts and fun conversation. A Taste of the Lakeshore

What a fantastic visit we had at the Lakeshore! Dennis and Jim could not have been more accommodating!!! The house is FABULOUS; such attention to detail and very clean!!!! We loved our daily breakfasts; Dennis, you’re the best chef in town!!! Centrally located to Douglas, Saugatuck and Holland! We have found our new home away from home!❤️

Hospitality Heaven

Jim and Dennis are hosts extraordinaire. The y have given attention to every detail to make your stay comfortable and special. From Dennis' wonderful breakfasts to Jim's gardening skills, you will feel pampered and able to relax in the wonderful garden areas. If possible, I would give our stay a 10 Star rating! Truly a hidden gem

My husband and I have stayed in many vrbo but what Dennis and Jim have here is truly The Best! You could not ask for more gracious hosts to open their home to you. Their property is beautiful, the house a little slice of heaven and Dennis and Jim are true gems. From the luxurious accommodations to the gourmet breakfasts you can not go wrong with this place. We enjoyed our stay and loved breakfast conversations each morning with these two. Great recommendations on places to go and things to see and do. We will most definitely be booking this again!

A stay to remember!

Jim and Dennis (and Rudy) are excellent hosts! Their home is beautiful and comfortable! The view of the river at sunrise is breathtaking! Their hospitality is welcoming and warm and you will truly feel at home. Each morning began with a wonderful breakfast and Dennis is truly gifted in the kitchen! Of course, he is an amazing chef! They truly thought of everything. We could not have asked for a better experience!

What a delightful experience!!! Dennis & Jim are the most personable, warm hosts. There home is beautiful!! You start off each morning with a gourmet style breakfast & great company & conversation!! Then you are only minutes away from bustling Saugatuck & quaint Douglas for walking around & shopping, wine tasting, boat rides, etc, & you'll want to get back to the B&B for a comfy happy hour before heading out to one of the many delicious restaurants. Then top off a great day sitting outside on the deck or by the firepit to relax by the River!! Loved every minute!!!!

Best Brunch in Saugatuck

Top to bottom, this was a wonderful stay. The downstairs apartment was the epitome of luxury and relaxation. From the impressive art collection to the fully equipped, high-end kitchen the apartment was beautiful and still practical. The highlight for us was the brunch every morning. Breakfast is a gourmet meal prepared by your chef owners and the food is to die for!! The views from the property are stunning and the location of the home could not be better. We were never more than 15 minutes from where we wanted to go (and usually much closer than that). I cannot say enough good things about the location, property or our phenomenal hosts!! Dennis and Jim, you both are a delight! We cannot wait to stay with you again very soon!

Amazing!

Worth it for the breakfast alone, but we loved everything about this property! My husband and I took a quick trip to Michigan for our mini-moon and were first drawn to this listing for the gorgeous views, proximity to Saugatuck and Douglas, and the host dog Rudy. None disappointed us! Our hosts were gracious and charming. The property was relaxing and secluded while still being near to downtown. The care that Dennis and Jim put into every detail was obvious and made our stay all the more enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

Exceptionally nice property

The lower-level suite is really a very well appointed one bedroom apartment. It provides the benefits of a B&B (breakfast and community area) with the privacy and seclusion of an apartment. Great views of the nearby Kalamazoo River and some really nice kayaks for paddling. Close enough to Saugatuck to be convenient but far enough away to avoid the noise and congestion. A great get -away for couples.

Hospitality at it's Finest!

We enjoyed our stay so much! Hosts Jim, dog Rudy & Chef Dennis were amazing! The home is even better than the pictures and descriptions! We really enjoyed our breakfasts and cocktail hour with the other guests and our Hosts! Jim & dog Rudy kept us delightfully entertained while Chef Dennis created artfully crafted, flavorful and beautiful plates for us to enjoy with fresh veggies and edible flowers from their garden! The surrounding area offers so much, arts, shopping, beach, water activities, wildlife, and a gentle peacefulness to come home to. This is not just a house, it's a warm and welcoming home. Perfect getaway!

My mom and I stayed here for a girl's weekend and it was absolutely amazing. The location was great; very close to everything we wanted to do, and being right on the water was a treat. The space was beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming. Dennis and Jim were such gracious hosts, they made the trip extra special! Also, Rudy(the dog) was the sweetest little greeter.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Dennis, Jim & Rudy were awesome hosts. Breakfast was almost an art form. We will definitely stay there again.
