Aztec Island Retreat is tucked into a canal-side pocket of Halls Head, giving guests the feeling of being away from it all while remaining within easy reach of Mandurah.

The waterfront location is the real attraction. Days can begin quietly beside the canal, on the jetty or out in a kayak before heading out to explore the wider Mandurah area.

Halls Head is well placed for beaches, cafés, shopping and the Mandurah foreshore, while the surrounding waterways are one of the region's defining features.

For many guests, however, one of the pleasures of Aztec is not having to fill every day with sightseeing. With several living spaces, waterfront decks, kayaks, entertainment areas and the canal immediately outside, spending a day at home can feel like part of the holiday rather than a day away from it.


Guests have access to the home, lower-level retreat, outdoor areas and private jetty. The garage and onsite boat are reserved for owner use.

The space
Aztec Island Waterfront Retreat offers five bedrooms across the main house and separate jetty-level retreat, creating a flexible layout for families and multi-generational groups.

Master bedroom: king bed with private ensuite and spa

The main level also includes a family bathroom with bath, separate toilet, laundry and another comfortable living area.

Lower-level jetty retreat:
Accessed externally from the main house, with no internal access or bathroom.

Outside, three waterfront decks offer different places to sit, relax and enjoy the canal setting.

A private jetty provides direct access to the water, and adult and children's kayaks are available for guest use.

The different levels and living spaces are one of Aztec's biggest strengths. A large family can come together for meals and time by the water while still having separate spaces for children, teenagers and adults to relax or entertain themselves.

Bus Services: Regular buses operate through Halls Head, connecting you to Mandurah Station and surrounding suburbs. From Mandurah Station, you can access Perth and other parts of the region via train. Check local timetables for up-to-date routes and schedules.

Train Services: Mandurah Station is just a short drive or bus ride away. From here, you can take the Mandurah Line to Perth in approximately 50 minutes, making day trips to the city easy and hassle-free.

Taxi Services: Local taxi services operate throughout Mandurah and Halls Head. They provide reliable transport for quick trips around the area or transfers to and from Mandurah Station.

Rideshare (Uber): Uber is widely available in Halls Head, offering a convenient, on-demand transport option for both short and longer trips.

With these transport options, exploring the beauty of Halls Head and the surrounding areas is straightforward and convenient!

Kayaks and children life vests are provided for optional guest use. Guests are responsible for assessing their own ability, the condition of the equipment and prevailing water, weather and traffic conditions before use. Use is at the guest’s own risk, and children must be actively supervised at all times

As with any waterfront home, local wildlife, birds and insects may occasionally be present. Keep an eye out for dolphins, swans, pelicans and other local birdlife enjoying the canals.

If you plan to bring a boat or Jet Ski during your stay, please let us know before making your booking. Kindly include the type and size of your boat or watercraft so we can confirm suitability, ensure appropriate parking is available, and provide any relevant information prior to your arrival.

Please be aware that noise carries easily along the canals, so we ask guests to keep outdoor noise at a respectful level.

Guest numbers & pricing
Base pricing includes up to 8 guests. The home accommodates up to 14 guests, with an additional per-person, per-night fee for larger groups.

Please ensure your booking reflects the correct number of guests.

CHECK-IN
After booking you will be required to complete the following at least 24 hours before arrival to receive your check-in instructions:

1️⃣ ID Verification – Upload a valid physical photo ID (passport or driver’s licence) via ChargeAutomation (no digital IDs accepted!).
2️⃣ Refundable Damage Deposit – This will be refunded after check-out, provided no damages are reported.

Bookings must be made under the traveller’s name — companies are welcome but must book under the guest staying.

PLEASE NOTE: If these steps are not completed in time, check-in instructions will not be provided.

This property operates under a firm cancellation policy. We recommend guests take travel insurance.

Early check-in and late check-out may be available on request, subject to availability. If you require guaranteed early access, we recommend booking the previous night.
