A beach house made up of an early 1900's railway carriage with modern bathroom and living amenities added on, to create a funky character-filled atmosphere that's relaxed and inviting.

A mere 5 minute stroll to the white sand of Long Beach where you can rock climb, boogie board, swim, fish or just walk along the quiet open beach and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

At home there's a big screen TV, fireplace, BBQ and plenty of space to enjoy a family get together or use the kitchen to cook up a storm.

25 minutes out of Dunedin, so not far from supermarkets etc. but far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle of a city.

Just what we needed for a weekend by the sea. All facilities as described. Great fire in the lounge for wintry evenings, everything we needed in the kitchen etcAn easy walk to a wonderful beach with lots to explore. We didnt leave Long Beach all weekend.

We just stayed for one night and absolutely loved it! The place was very clean and tidy, but for us, mainly, had great character. The carriage has been expertly restored, and tastefully decorated. The place is very spacious as well. The beach is at a 5 minute stroll. I am already looking forward for another visit.

A very cute cottage that had everything we needed. Lovely and warm with fire going. Even without, there were electric blankets and heaps of heaters if needed. Everything we wanted. Just a short stroll to the beach :)

Wonderfully quirky and unique. We loved our stay. Great location, stunning beach with a well equipped house. Lots of firewood, friendly neighbour dropped off extra too. Other heating options available, lots of blankets and plenty of space. Brilliant and quick communication with hosts.

Characterful train cottage

Amazing characterful warm and clean cottage. Plenty of firewood available and other heating options and plenty of towels. Could do with a few more cooking utensils but heaps of coffee and tea options as well as hot choc and an otherwise well stocked kitchen. Would definitely recommend a stay.

Such a great wee get away spot not too far from Dunedin city. 2min walk to the beach and it is beautiful even on a miserable day. Has everything you could need for a week away with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and laundry. Fire heats the whole house but there are also lots of other heating options. Friendly hosts and the property was clean and tidy and well looked after. Looking forward to our next trip already!

Great place to stay fire was great beds are great nice an quiet neighborhood. Door handle alarm keeped going off throughout the night, i told the owners hopefully thats fixed for the next person.

The place was not clean, the main room had been hoovered but the bathroom and surfaces were not clean. We spent the first hour cleaning. When we opened the fold up bed we found sand and and other bits on the surfaces.The wifi did not work despite trying the password provided. The shower door came off its hinge when opened for the first time. The area was very nice with a lovely beach and it is a novel idea to team the property with the rail carriage.

Great potential, just needs a few tweaks to make it more comfortable! This seems to be a newish listing so just need to get familiar with what guests want/need.Ran out of firewood and there was a lack of blankets but the owner was extremely obliging and rectified!
