Baird's Country Guesthouse

This peaceful rural setting is down a long country lane through the woods and across a perennial stream. Centrally located in Kings County (Eastern PEI): Cardigan, Georgetown, and Montague (5–15 minutes); downtown Charlottetown is 30 minutes.
Close to groceries, restaurants, parks, beaches, trails, theatre, and golf. Nearby courses include Avondale , Brudenell & Dundarave (10 min), Fox Meadow (20 min), and Crowbush (30 min).

We're located on a peaceful and quiet property in the country. You'll be surrounded by farmland and forest. Please note that our Amish neighbours share the first 500 ft. of the driveway. Please drive slowly (15 km.) when their horse and carriage is present.

This home was completed in 2022. The home has one King bed (new in 2025) and two double beds, The house is air conditioned with a mini split for AC and heat. Covered deck for morning coffee/tea.

The house is 1100 square feet with a spacious 750 square foot wrap around porch/deck with a privacy fence. This guesthouse is located far enough from the main house to ensure guest privacy on the deck, at the barbeque, and firepit area.

The kitchen has everything that you need to prepare meals, a Keurig coffee machine, regular coffee maker, blender, slow cooker, air fryer, and toaster.

The house is heated and cooled with a mini split heat pump.

Bathroom has a comfort height toilet with a grab bar. Grab bar is also at the side of the bath/shower. The tub/shower combo has a 20 - inch high threshold. For safety, we recommend this for guests who are comfortable stepping over a higher ledge.
"Bath-Shower seat" is available upon request.


There's a white noise machine for guest use. Play white noise for a great night's sleep. Blackout curtains in each bedroom. Each bedroom has a cooling fan.

You are welcome to walk, jog, or explore our 50 acre property while visiting. Confederation Trail access is located 5 minutes away. You can download the map on the "tourism pei" website or explore the many nearby hiking and biking trails.

My husband and I live in the adjacent property. We try to say hello in person, but give our guests privacy otherwise. We're available upon request and love sharing our local recommendations .

We live beside many Amish, with one very close neighbor. Here's some information about their way of life.

Never photograph or video Amish individuals.
Keep shots limited to distant landscapes.
Treat homes as private, not attractions.
Interactions: A nod or wave is welcome.
Pay cash at their businesses: Use exact cash; do not haggle.
Amish businesses are closed Sunday.

Lawn:
The lawn is cut once a week, between 10:00 am and 7 pm. Our garage is behind the guest house and we access it for routine home maintenance.

Cooking Fresh Fish:
We kindly ask that any freshly caught fish be cooked the same day it is caught. Cooking it the following day can create strong, lingering odors throughout the home.

If you plan to prepare fish, we encourage same-day cooking or using the barbeque. The bbq has a side burner for pots.

A Note About Our Country Setting 🌿

This is a peaceful country home surrounded by nature. As with any rural property, especially in warmer months, you may occasionally see flies, mosquitoes, spiders, or other small insects, particularly when doors are open.

We work hard to keep the home clean and well maintained and to minimize insects. If you enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside, we think you’ll love your stay!

Also, you may encounter wildlife during your stay, including birds, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, minks, foxes, and other wild animals.

For your safety and the safety of the animals, please do not approach, touch, feed, follow, or attempt to interact with any wildlife, regardless of how calm or friendly it may appear. This includes wild birds and birds of prey.

Celiac-safe toaster is available upon request.

Maximum driveway speed: 15 km.

Please note: The main house has two exterior cameras. The Guest house has no security cameras. There is 100 feet between the two houses for guest privacy.

We ask that the heavy furniture not be moved as this could accidentally scratch the hardwood floors. Thanks for looking after our house.
