Completely remodeled in 2013, enjoy the new amenities of a brand new interior while preserving the historic nature of the classic Northwoods resort. This cabin has it all! Modern Hickory kitchen, scribed floors, recessed lighting, new appliances, and fantastic lake views. With a setting this close to the water, you'll feel like you can fish from your deck! Sleeping arrangements include 1 queen bed, 1 twin over double bunk and a queen size futon sleeper. The full bath has a walk-in shower.

The cabin has a fantastic view of the lake & has been updated somewhat but it was clean supplied with all the kitchen utensils, pots & pans. The property amenities stated there was a kayak and canoe, but these items weren’t included so we had to rent a boat. Thankfully we found this out prior to our visit. The property is conveniently located just a few blocks from the bike trail, and an excellent restaurant, the Pine Knot. We would happily come back to cabin #2 again some day.

The location on the lake is lovely, but the cabin is not. The shower was so small it was barely usable; the bathroom was so small my husband couldn't sit on the toilet. Most of the dishes we wanted to use were not clean and had to be washed before use. The cabin doesn't have A/C and was miserable in the heat. We left after one night.

Our first experience with Vrbo. I have to say that Kathy (our contact) was very helpful whenever we needed something. All surfaces and overall appearances were clean, but nothing worse than grabbing a chair to sit at the table and have it stick to your hand. None of the wood was tended to, chair for relaxing looked like someone ate their toast there as crumbs accumulated on the wood frame. The walls in the bathroom were full of drips from washing of hands. Toilet was very small and too close to the walls. Mildew in the shower on the wood where it connects to the surround. The terrain was quite dangerous with buried railroad ties and slippery rock paths. Railings were old and failing. Spider webs outside the entry door. Cabins are VERY close together.Not all was bad though. The view was beautiful from the deck. Enjoyed the visiting deer each day. Very close to many shops and restaurants.Just too expensive for a cabin that needs some TLC-Cathy August 15-28, 2026

Stayed in early July , 2 adults, 2 teens Pros: -gorgeous lake view w/ deck and fire pit - Decent amount of dishes, kitchenware, & cabinet space for what guests bring. - ok fridge/ freezer size - great proximity to downtown St. Germain - TV with streaming service options - WiFi - box fan essential to tolerate the heat. - secure doors, including patio doors.Cons: -size , overall. Definitely smaller than the photos make it look to be. We came with a family of 4 (says sleeps 6) and barely had room for luggage. - VERY close proximity to next door cabins. I could feel the heat ( and conversations) from the neighbor's fire pit every night through our bedroom window. It was about 5 or 6 feet from our cabin wall) Lots of dogs barking, little privacy if out on deck. Shared pier space. - Each cabin is individually owned, so it was unclear which areas of the resort property we were allowed to use. A map/ list of mutually used locations ( for all resort guests) would have been nice. We arrived on the 4th of July, so I understood that there might be some delay in communication with my questions, but after reaching out by email/vrbo chat, I didn't hear back so I ultimately ended up making a phone call 2 Days later to get answers. They were helpful over the phone. - although a little cramped, the close quarters made for lots of fun family bonding.

Beautiful View, but Much Smaller Than Expected

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The photographer deserves a raise because this cabin looks MUCH bigger in the photos than it feels/is in real life. Overall, our stay was fine, and there are definitely some positives: the lake view is beautiful, the playground is nice for kids, the location is great for exploring the St. Germain area, and the hosts were very responsive.That said, I think there are a few things future guests should know. The cabin is very cozy -as in, you will definitely be on top of each other. While it may technically sleep six, I think four people is much more realistic if you want to be comfortable. There are only four regular chairs at the table. The bathroom is also extremely tight, and if you're over six feet tall, using the toilet may genuinely be a challenge.There is no A/C, and we noticed a slight mildew/septic-type smell during our stay, we kept thinking our youngest had an accident in his pants lol. Our futon was broken, and there were no towels provided - not even a hand towel in the bathroom - so I’d definitely confirm what linens are included before arriving. They did bring us some when we requested them.One other important note for families: there is a very steep drop-off near the cabin. If you have young children, especially kids around four and under, I would be extremely cautious. There is also no swimming access. The cabins are also much closer together than the photos make them appear, so privacy is limited -you can definitely hear your neighbors.It worked for our stay, and the location and lake view were lovely, but I’d recommend it most for a smaller group (4 and under) that doesn’t mind very close quarters and a truly rustic cabin experience.
