Unfortunately, given the premium price, there were several significant issues. The strongest concern was the musty/old-house smell downstairs, along with very strong sewerage-type odours around the laundry and an unrenovated bathroom, making the area unpleasant to use. One downstairs bedroom appeared unfinished, with an exposed concrete floor, and contained what appeared to be a camera, raising privacy concerns. We covered it for peace of mind.The stairs to the beach were overgrown and had very wobbly handrails, making them appear unsafe. The balcony had an amazing outlook but cheap outdoor furniture; comfortable lounge chairs would have made it far more enjoyable.Heating was inadequate during our winter stay, and some kitchenware was chipped, damaged or poorly maintained. There were also few guest amenities, with no shampoo, conditioner or body wash and insufficient towel rails.Communication with the host was disappointing, with unanswered messages and incorrect information, including being told there was a barbecue when there wasn't. The steep driveway was also impractical.Overall, the property has enormous potential, but the smells, unfinished areas, inadequate heating, safety/privacy concerns, poor kitchenware, limited amenities and poor communication meant we were disappointed. For the price, we expected a much higher standard and would not stay again or recommend it in its current condition.
